Here we have two future best actor Oscar nominees (Anwar and Kenneth), an X-man (Tony), and two Game of Thrones stars (Chris and Cassie). What a talent pool they discovered for this show.
2020: The people saying they look messy or something like that, the personalities fit with the style, in this case Sid is known for being a super carefree guy, and Cassie just has her hair that way because anorexic girls have a hard time having good hair aesthetics. You can see the difference between the Cassie from Season 1 and the Cassie from the last Season.
yep Sid is designed to look like he's overslept, just picked a t-shirt of his bedroom floor and flung it on. He usually wears a t-shirt, sometimes a hoody and a backpack. Tony's designed almost the opposite, his clothes always look immaculate in season 1, never a trace of dirt or a crease. He wears chinos, shirts, polo tops and jumpers or cardigans normally, dresses more adult. Cassie's look in season 1 was usually very bright and summer like, she wore lots of white and yellow I remember. It was quite a feminine look too, she used to wear a dress a lot rather than jeans, it all looked quite vintage.
I’m wondering if it’s younger people who aren’t really clued up on the show who keep leaving these comments? Cause it’s pretty obvious why Sid and Cassie would be scruffy looking
I think people are just used to the glossy American shows view of teenage life with all of the characters turned out immaculately and the female characters having these perfect blow-outs, whereas Sid is played by an actual teenager and looks a bit grimy in the way that a lot of teenage boys are in reality . And I don’t think that Cassie looks all that bad really, but yeah most teenage girls are not going to have perfect beach waves when they’re just sat in the cafeteria at school in the middle of the day
I never realized how clever the writing was sometimes, Cassie pointing out Syd's missing student ID is to distract him and to show the viewers how she evades eating but it also helps highlight how important the student ID really is plotwise and how it becomes important like an episode later The show was always kinda deemed as just teens on drugs doing exagerated partyng but it had a lot of care on his writing, and always forshadowed stuff relatevely subtly
It doesn't matter how long she was hospitalized, if she was hospitalized, or almost dying or anything like that. PLEASE do not focus on that it is triggering and unhelpful. Focus on her mental state, not her physical state including her weight. It does not matter if someone is hospitalized or how bad their physical state is. Eating disorders are a mental disorder, not a weight disorder. Focusing on weight so much to indicate "how sick" someone is only makes the disordered person want to get "sicker" even more so they can feel valid, loved, and cared about. *Please* show your daughter that you love her and view her eating disorder as just as serious and valid no matter what weight she is at.
Sid catching feels before he realized he caught feels. Sid and Cassie were my favourite. I wish they were together in season 7 but I liked how season 7 was about Cassie taking care of her brother and dad and not needing a boyfriend.

@@GNVS300 Anwar had an episode. It was probably for the best that Kenneth didn't have a full episode of his own, as Daniel Kaluuya's posh accent is so bad.

Which is true because some teens out there struggle with that and some Adults. She was my favorite character because I feel a connection with what she does because it is realistic
I would be pissed if anyone touches my food just the way she did. The moment she would tried to touch my fries, I would have throw some sort of top wrist lock.
1:05 I know this scene is serious and all but are we seriously not gonna talk about the funniest line in this show, aka, "what's the frequency, Kenneth"
The Snowflake Diaries it’s a r.e.m reference from the song, it’s about a guy who beat up dan rathers while shouting the sentence over and over again cuz he tought CBNews was sending signals in his head. @Chava Martínez Bummer is pretty much a mutual word in the series, although Sid probably says it the most
Did she just frickin ruin a whole plate of fooddddddd
aesthendan _ food*
aesthendan _ i know, i just corrected you
It’s British food it’s okay
@@farha1052 that's food you can get literally anywhere in the world tho. fries are from belgium
Ella Hammersnush wait, fries are not from france?
I never realized how clever the writing was sometimes, Cassie pointing out Syd's missing student ID is to distract him and to show the viewers how she evades eating but it also helps highlight how important the student ID really is plotwise and how it becomes important like an episode later
The show was always kinda deemed as just teens on drugs doing exagerated partyng but it had a lot of care on his writing, and always forshadowed stuff relatevely subtly

@@beaippos my exact thought right now when i saw him
Does no one brush their hair in this show?
I remember messy hair being the style as well as overly back combed hair
cause sid is grimy. that’s it
Bri Bright I don’t think anyone told you British are known for having bad teeth lol
College in 2020 is pretty much the same. A lot of people just don't shower or take care of themselves.
cassie is anorexic so if she was to brush her hair it could fall out
My daughter is anorexic, to the point of almost dying and being hospitalized for two weeks. This is spot on what she did, and still tries to do.
Sending you love and strength ❤🤗 I hope she finds peace from it one day x
You seem like a very understanding and caring mother please be like this
good luck
Hope she’s better ❤
Sid catching feels before he realized he caught feels. Sid and Cassie were my favourite. I wish they were together in season 7 but I liked how season 7 was about Cassie taking care of her brother and dad and not needing a boyfriend.
i think I'm going to rewatch the show
I was thinking exactly that...
|-/
go and watch first and last season. in between is just rubbish.
i Did you rewatch it?

The fact that Daniel Kaluya was a minor actor here but now is one of the most successful amongst the others
Yes because he’s a black
@@nonWhites_have_to_go_back?
When I was anorexic Cassie taught me how to do this. But I got better now and I didn’t realize how much of a good and bad influence Skins was on me growing up.
I am glad you're doing better!!💖💖
Diamond Entertainment glad you’re doing much better fr
hopefully you can take this moment and teach yourself how to recognise when other people are not doing okay
I hope you realize the rating is for 17+ its rate TV-MA, this is exactly why no younger kid should watch this show
@@tyssamacias5559 that didn’t stop a lot of teenagers from watching this show, also my aunt showed this show to me cuz she wanted to know if this is how modern teens are.
She is such an amazing actress. She played this part extremely well
This scene breaks my heart. I used to have a friend that struggled with eating disorders. This one time just we were hanging out watching TV at my place. I happened to be eating some Starbursts out of a bag when she emptied the whole thing and started neatly stacking them and organizing them by color. At the time she just laughed it off but now I realize it was a compulsive thing for her. I hope you're doing better out there Lexi, I miss you.
I just noticed Cassie has her wrist watch on her ankle loool
Maybe it doesn't fit her arms because they're too skinny
GNVS OMG i never thought of that
GNVS
That or it could just be due to her quirky fashion sense. Either one works
I thought it was that at first tbh considering surely most watches can be adjusted
She's measuring her fat too that way, if the watch stops fitting... y'know
she totes ruined his beans toast and sausage tho
that is also another trick.. making the food look unplesant so you're not that much "tempted" to eat it...
An I the only one thinking that Cassie looks a lot like Aimee from Sex education??
Fr fr i thought they were the same person
Nah
it's the teeth
i always thought about this too lmao
Melvin probably because they both have an overbite
i needed to watch this 2-3 times until i understood cassie's message. i was too clueless back then, but she has always been my ultimate fav character + sid is damn cute with his hat off
perks of being a wallflower enthusiast you must be slow witted then
perks of being a wallflower enthusiast as a dumb 11 year old I can proundlt say that I thought Sid was cute
Why does this video feel damp? Like watching this I feel like they were in a humid setting I can’t put my finger on it🤔
Because you can only hear them talking and you dont hear other people in the back talking.. pretty unsettling for me too
I would go a step further and say they even look.. greasy? I think it’s the combo of muted colors, muffled sound and the slightly blurry camera focus
Raquel Vargas lmao I’m dying at your comment
Angry Hat Now that u mention it, I'm getting that feeling too!!!!!🤔
omg
i gotta admit in this they don't glamorize drinking and being hungover or having a eating disorder i mean they look tired and look like crap like they need a shower lol
What always gets me is how sids 'I care' reply was so fast and he tries to play that down
iS hE tHe GuY fRoM GET OUT
YeS
HOLY SHIT
What?? Wow just realized
Ive watched this season so many times and never realized this 😭
he was also on black mirror
I'm old enough to remember every manic pixie dream girl that tried to base their entire personality off of Cassie's character
Why? She's unwell in many ways.
And every single one of them had a tumblr blog
why did I read the title as, she teaches him how to not eat skin
😂😂😂
Kenneth needed his own episode :(
Benjamin Greenwell ikr
Yeah... Good character and good actor
And Anwar
@@GNVS300 Anwar had an episode. It was probably for the best that Kenneth didn't have a full episode of his own, as Daniel Kaluuya's posh accent is so bad.
Anwar never got one ALL by himself and didn't get a central episode at all in series 2
The fact that she ruined his food...
This scene just made me so angry- She came from wherever she came from and just messed up all of Sid's food. Bitch wtf????
@@palesamoloi7561 you’re joking right?

That’s… not the point… 😭
4:34 I fucking love this transition. How defensive and care free she gets while still trying to be nice is just brilliant.
"I care."
her voice is so soothing bro.
The only character I feel compassion for is Cassie. She reminds me of my closet friend that struggles with eating disorder. Which is true because some teens out there struggle with that and some Adults. She was my favorite character because I feel a connection with what she does because it is realistic
Eric Cartman 🤭 lmao
Same
3 years later and my heart is still broken
I would be pissed if anyone touches my food just the way she did. The moment she would tried to touch my fries, I would have throw some sort of top wrist lock.

im never eating on school days anyway only on the weekends
1:05 I know this scene is serious and all but are we seriously not gonna talk about the funniest line in this show, aka, "what's the frequency, Kenneth"
i dont get it ooof
The Snowflake Diaries it’s a r.e.m reference from the song, it’s about a guy who beat up dan rathers while shouting the sentence over and over again cuz he tought CBNews was sending signals in his head. So whenever a cat fell of the roof and killed an old lady they shout it, or whenever they didn’t understand a homework question people would shout it. It’s all confusing but once you understand it it’s hilarious. I died at that line 💀
Tbh I think it's just the fact that he's spouting rubbish and being extremely hyped up so Chris is basically just asking "Dude, what tf are you on"
this show definitely felt like a fever dream
It really did
Nostalgic as fuck
totally
After watching this millions of times, I realize that Sid is basically a Muggle Ron, and Cassie and anorexic Luna...
lychees n' peaches well luna’s actress was anorexic...

Isabela Cuenca Wait legit?
Andrea yeah she was, she had gotten told that she could only get the part of luna if she got better or something like that

Two of the people at that dinner table have been nominated for Oscars.
i love cassie, i always thoght you must be super strong to be like her
Euphoria wishes it was as good as Skins. They didn’t need to glamorize it.
i feel like it was more glamorised in skins. I know ppl who started smoking weed at 12/13 and developing ed's cuz of this show.
@@reihino6347 skins never glamourised any kind of mental illness or drugs, so do euphoria. but wth 13 year old kids shouldn't be watching it, i mean they're not mature enough to know the consequences of their acts.
euphoria is way better than skins, it’s based on a true story and is way more realistic tbh. skins was also very corny
ugh this is so sad
How well have they all done! 2 from GOT, get out, slumdog. Channel 4 were certainly on the ball with this lot.
The Maze runner and Nicholas hault and most of these were unknown actors when this aired
I hate how people glamour some of this shows scenes... is like they don’t get the point
same with euphoria
I thought the title said "Cassie teaches Sid how to eat skin," and I was so confused when it ended and she didn’t eat any skin.
This is brilliant
I remember loving this scene, always re watched it - got to love Cassie and Sid
I actually remember this being suggested in a pro-ana website years prior to Skins coming out. And then when i first saw this scene, it shocked me because i realised how effective it actually could be. This show was amazing for bringing awareness to some of the issues that teenagers went through.

the best scene of the show.
Pissed she messed up his lunch
If I was Sid I'd be pissed she split my Coke.

Why were you watching this at 13?? its rate TV-MA which means 17+
that look on Cassie’s face when Sid says he cares.... breaks my heart, especially after pure
Remember watching this for the first time (about 6 years ago) shortly after I had struggled with something similar myself..love Cassie so much! Awareness on these issues is always a good thing.
I tried turning on subtitles. TH-cam was like "you're on your own, man. Peace out."
0:55 how every British kid talks now
Pahahaha literally
frr 😭
This will always be one of my favorite scenes.
This show taught me a lot things, I think I watched it when I was way too young but I don’t regret it. It made me into who I am today. I still think back to certain moments of the show now as an adult.
I love how this channel is still alive, thank you Skins!!
Cassie looks like when you find an old barbie doll and her hair is all messy and all her clothes were taken from different dolls.
the way she looked at sid when he said that he cares- wow
1:01 OMG years after this man was nominated for an Oscar
the way they touch eachothers food drives me INSANE
As someone who feels sick whenever they look at food I understand Cassie immensely 😭

I literally learned how to hide my ED from this exact scene when I was younger. It’s crazy how my first thought was: “oh this is a great tip” instead of how sad it actually was. I think it’s really interesting watching now that I’m 2 years into my recovery
this scene is adorable plus this season is absolutely the best from skins.
