The Shadow/Dark Side is an archetype that consists of the sex and life instincts. The Shadow/Dark Side exists as part of the unconscious mind and is composed of repressed ideas, weaknesses, desires, instincts, and shortcomings.
The Shadow/Dark Side forms out of our attempts to adapt to cultural norms and expectations. It is this archetype that contains all of the things that are unacceptable not only to society, but also to one's own personal morals and values.

@@JR-iz1ee I think it's possible that you find someone who will love all of you including the ugly parts. Finding a good partner is hard under any circumstance. On your other point I think that no matter how open you are with someone there will always be parts of you that only you can know. Also keep in mind this is not a matter of of good vs evil. It's a matter of socially acceptable or not. Something that has helped me is writing down my thoughts. Keep a journal and start by being honest with yourself, without judgment. Don't try to deny your wants, fantasies or desires, bring them all to light even if you don't share with anyone. By writing it down you are recognizing it exists as a part of you. And remember again in this context darkness does not mean evil, it means hidden. I think that's an important distinction.

Definitely feels like everyone has varying degrees of all of these. However I don't feel like all of these apply to everyone. They definitely apply to most people though.
    For me personally:
Violence - Nah. Even when I was hallucinating and losing my mind and couldn't control my emotions due to sleep deprivation for many many months from working too many hours in a fast paced stressful work environment, I never hurt anyone. Now that I've gone through that experience, I won't let myself get that close ever again, so I should never hurt anyone out of rage.
Greed - As a kid growing up, almost nothing made me happy, so when I discovered video games could make me happy, I just wanted to have all the video games to have all the experiences to not feel bored or depressed.
However, as time goes on the more I choose to not let myself want things, the more relaxed and happy I am. The older I get, the more I want nothing.
Still gonna want enough money to live in a house with enough food and a place to sleep though. Hard to think, exercise, or anything else to take care of yourself when you're sleep deprived. Also the ability to communicate with people through the phone or internet is invaluable because people are often so busy nowadays that there won't be time to exchange ideas.
Lust - Man I just want hugs.
Quite a few people want me to do sexual things with them, but all I wanna do is talk and relax. I dunno if I'm asexual, or just a pansexual with a really really low sex drive. After all, whenever I accidentally slip into the habit of having some chocolate, I realize I get horny everyday when that happens, more so with dark chocolate. Been looking into ways to be a bit more sexually active, buuut being cautious as I have too many other things that are much higher priority.
Deception - I've always told myself to never lie.
With that said, I do steer conversations to be a certain way. Usually either for a joke, or so someone focusing on improving and being happy instead of looking for excuses to hate others. The description used for highly decptive people in this video does follow closely with the most manipulative people I've ever known. They know how to ride the line between what is bad and what is acceptable. I most definitely like the advice at the end there, I can't say anything about it but I needed to say that it was great.
Vengeance - I've had many reasons to want revenge because of how some people treated me growing up, but I never let myself give into that. Why I thought that ever since I was a kid, I dunno. Probably Batman TAS with the many characters going through negative feelings and the episodes having a recurring theme of it's okay to feel those emotions, but not allow them to make you do terrible things to others.
Now revenge has always felt great if it just so happens to come alongside something I was going to do anyways. I just never let it become a determining factor of my choices, I have too many other things to worry about. I do not blame people for giving into revenge though, hatred is one of the most powerful motivators out there. However, hatred is like playing with fire, if used improperly, you'll burn yourself and everyone else around you. Far too often I've seen people let revenge ruin everyone's lives, and it doesn't even make them feel better, it just makes their own life worse.
I'll probably never go into revenge again because I gotta say listening to Baiken's theme from Guilty Gear Strive makes me feel all sappy because it's basically her going through the whole phase of giving into revenge most of her life. Eventually she stops and is now trying to stop going after revenge, and stop others from walking the painful path that she chose. Now she's trying to heal, instead of giving into revenge.
Narcissism - Definitely guilty of this one. Always tried to improve, so it feels nice to look back and see the progress I've made, but it can leave me to be overconfident sometimes. I have to remind people to let me know if I'm doing dumb things.
Overall amazing video. Gave me something to ponder before sleeping. I look forward to seeing your other videos. I see Guts from Berserk in the thumbnail about self improvement, so I'm already intrigued.

@@jrkasaurus I often talk with friends about things to make sure we don't do dumb things, that way I can fix whatever it is if I'm doing something bad. Though I didn't quite take into consideration that they might be glossing over and denying bad things about me as well, or maybe pretending that the bad thing might be a trait they like about me so I don't realize it's bad. Which can definitely lead down the road of, if everyone thinks it's good, is it bad? Then a whole slippery slope of other questions. After all, what's acceptable in some places, it looked down upon in other places.
I do know I'm not 100% self aware. I have noticed that sometimes when watching back videos of myself playing games to finally get around to editing a video, but it's been too long to remember the game, I'll just do the same thing and be in the same mindset as what happens before the event in the game. Freaked me the heck out the first few times it happened because it made me realize that while people can always be thinking about multiple options on how everything is to avoid falling into traps, there is times where the brain will railroad into doing the same option and fail again, even though you supposedly learned from it in the past. Why that is I dunno. Perhaps it was a situation that led into a state of autopilot, or perhaps other life stuff bringing decision making back to where it originally was. Of course, some games are specifically designed to trick you with your decisions though.
Also, spent most of my life playing video games alone or with randoms online, and never had a chance to talk about life stuff. So when I got VR and was able to talk about personal matters, it made me realize just how little I knew about myself because there never was a time for such things to be brought up. I know a lot more about myself than I previously did, but it makes me wonder just how much more of myself I do not know about. Of course, people do change overtime, so it's impossible to know everything about oneself at any moment in time.
Sorry if that was a bit of a ramble, just about to head to sleep. Thanks for the interesting comment = )

But the Gospel also says man is redeemable because God says so and Jesus died on the cross for man to be reconciled and reformed to be just like Him. Sacrificial, loving, humble. You then acknowledge the innate evil in you and resolve to allow yourself to be changed and made better because of the grace God gave you.

Something i have been fighting with for a while now. The pain of everything i been through has been pulling me to the dark side. Sometimes i feel like its not worth being a good person or some people don't deserve goodness but my faith keeps me fighting.

I've often said that greed is the cause of all evil but you said that without it there would be no excitement curiosity or inspirations, thus now i should rethink my statement hahah

Definitely dealt with some darkness on the lust end of the spectrum. I've never actually done anything or acted any of it out in real life but I had a slightly sexual relationship with a cousin when we were kids growing up and I think it did something to me. I found myself having sexual thoughts about a cousin once removed that I'm not too proud of. Just saw her at a family get together one year and she had grown up and gotten real pretty. Obviously I've never talked about any of this with anyone as I'm obviously ashamed of these thoughts. I'm pretty sure I never would act on those thoughts as I never have the type to do anything illegal (aside from some substance issues over the years) but it scares me where I've gone in my head with this fantasy before.

I think that's rather normal. I have attractive cousins in my family too. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. That's how the human species perpetuates itself.

However, it's not normal to express that in public, but it's still pretty normal though.

The problem lies when you tell someone with an evil mind about these thoughts. They'll see this as a way to attack your inner mind (Soul) and convince you that you're not right in the mind. Rumours will spread and they'll use it to destroy you, just because it's entertaining to them.

@@nativeamericancowboy5028 well, I figured in this form I could express these thoughts. I've never told anybody in person about it. I know technically if someone really wanted to they could backtrack my TH-cam account and find out who I am but I'm pretty sure I'm unimportant enough that that won't happen.
