WG confirmed that all units will get a seperate entry in the armies of ... books. No zipping different units together like in the rulebook! Also, alessio held an AMA on reddit the other day, that was very interesting, give it a read!
What you're getting at; is instead of refeering to a theatre book for mongolian cavalry, the next armies of the soviet onion will feature these fringe units?
Anyone know the purpose of Recce Platoons in contrast to Infantry Platoons? I've looked into the options in the rulebook and I don't really understand why someone would choose to have one. Maybe there's something obvious I'm missing.
@@tabletopcp Ok, thanks for the explanation. Love your guys’ battle reports, this is an awesome game system that deserves the attention. This channel and others have really inspired me to take the step from TTS and start building my own Soviet list to play in person.
Don't you have to make a single rifle platoon to unlock every other Heavy weapons, tank etc. ?? For example: 1x rifle platoon = Unlock a Tank platoon. Another rifle platoon = Unlock the next (whatever) platoon ?? Or can you just use ONE rifle platoon and unlock the rest as you want?? (I don't have the book yet, this is only by what I've seen other guys do)
One rifle platoon unlocks one of each of the other types of platoons. If you would like to take a second of any of the specialist platoons then you would have to buy a second rifle platoon.
There are no official army books out at the moment. Only the armies in the rule book. The official army books will start releasing next year. You will need the rule book to play
Man IJA got done dirty... no army of book until 2026, no scout teams, no lone snipers, no cavalry? Why does German, Poland and France get cavalry but Japan lost it in v3???
You have to bring your mandatory infantry platoon of one officer and two squads and after that you add a tank platoon with those vehicles in it. Not much else to it
I love easyarmy - Gregg definitely gets some dollarpounds from me each month!
Just getting into Bolt Action and this was really useful. Thank you! 👍

Super helpful for a new player like myself -- thank you!
That’s a great resource.
Do you think you will make a video on board building? I'm having some trouble determining what is to little or to much terrain on the table.
In V3 I think it’s still to be determined what the best board layout is. It’s going to take a few games to figure out a good ratio
Travis, which do you prefer for the list building, Warlord or Easy Army? You don't draw any conclusions.
Well, warlord requires a subscription so..
Which one is free, easy answer.
@@squirrellonastick Don't you donate to Greg for all his efforts, which he allows you to use for free?

@@lesliebeilby-tipping6854 After I've bought all the models for my army! I just don't like monthly subscriptions, happily pay $20 in one lump sum.

I think it was put in there so people who run LRDG armies can field those

I'm a new Bolt Action player. Do you need the official army books if you're using this website?
