Thanks for the video! As a new player, these army list overviews help a lot. I think the snow bases fit the army and paint scheme the best. They do however look quite blown out on camera, if that is something you care about.
Can highly recommend the Wargames Atlantic Miniatures. I've got a bunch of them for my Horus Heresy Militia (by a bunch i mean like 200 dudes because - well, militia needs the bodies).
I think brown muddy bases with some snow would look great. Fits times when it’s cold, but not deep snow (early late winter). A well churned battle field look as well.
I am newish to BA and would like to see the lists attached to the description (not in a lot of detai) as I am hard of hearing and an American to boot so sometimes I miss subtleties in accents. Speak in Texan sometimes and I will catch it perfectly. 😀 My focus will be on North Africa and playing narrative campaigns there but I do have a late war FJ company and some Brits painted for Europe.
The Marder was based on a Panzer II chassis not the Panzer T38. Even when the design had a lot of shortcomings it was basically a recycling program to spare ressources which gave hundreds of obsolete but working Panzer II a new purpose
@@josephpagoria6933as a German M.A. of History i can admit that the "Marder Family" of the Wehrmacht was no coherent vehicle design but a whole range of improvised Tank destroyers with several technical blueprints. Marder I was mostly built on top of french Tanks . Marder II on Panzer II chassis. And Marder III on Czech T38. But you can find also historical sources for exemptions in several factories. Like in the ongoing Russian War of aggresion against Ukraine there was also a lot of Improvisation in ww2
I think the bases look good, but I don't like the combination of the two of them at once. Just sort of visually confusing imo. I lean towards the muddy base, the snow base from a bit further away makes things feel a little washed out imo.
@@dannyhalas9408 Yes, but this is a history based game, nor 40K. I know Bolt Action is not very realistic - as the army list shows - but at least the troops and vehicles should be portayed historically.
I like the muddy base. The snow matches the miniatures but is really specific toward playing on a winter-theamed table with other winter models

Interesting list, I vote for the muddy bases.
the half and half base looks best to me.
Easy answer with Hetzers. Hetzer 1 was French hull. Hetzer 2 was Panzer 2 hull. Hetzer 3 was Panzer 38t hull.

The 6 man Doubble LMG; that's a solid pick.
The lowkey mortar spam is a solid pick.
The base with the 2nd platoon commander looks the best!

Personally, I liked the one base you didn't like that was the mix of snow on mud.
They're all good though.

What are you using to build your list?
I am trying the 6 man LMG teams tomorrow. My Marder has sucked so far in V3 😂. Muddy base for me
Can Somebody Tell me what a "historical" German list would Look Like?
Did the paratroopers really wear blue like that?
I'd go mud... Most tables arn't based in winter. As good as the snow looks.
Needs more autocannons lol

Your vehicles are the wrong colour for late war. The Germans stopped painting their tanks grey around 1942/43.
Sir, there are some rivets to be be counted.
Panzer III G would be a mid war Panzer so the paint fits for the period.
Rule of cool, he just prefers the grey.
@@josephpagoria6933 It would have been re-painted to match other German tanks in the late-war period.
