Hi, thanks a lot for making this Video. Since I am from Europe, I can take parts from AWD Diesel Golfs. I am pretty sure I can do this cheaper than anyone else, on the hardware side of things. But I am scared of the wiring. I could just run a Van der Veer Controller, but that would be illegal in Austria. To be road legal, I need to wire the haldex up to stock controllers and sensors.
Wouldnt it be easier to just change the engine in the AWD golf? Or how about just tuning the diesel engine? If you get a MK5 with a PD140 then they can make some serious power
@@kenkainzner7190 Yes I checked the part number for the subframe (alloy one) 1K0505235N which matches that to the MK5 R32 and MK6 R, so it should fit the same. And I think I meant A3 8P not S3.
I've been wanting to do this so bad but I would never be able to get the parts let alone have a garage to get it done. One thing you forgot to mention (unless I wasn't paying attention) is cutting out the spare tire part.
Awesome video!!! Good information

Looking to do this to my Aussie spec Mk5 Jetta, you could use the rear subframe/Haldex from an Audi S3 ?
I am pretty sure u can. But I think there was a change from Haldex generation 2 to gen 3 in 2008 and I am not quite sure, how to check compatibility

This information was very informative I like to communicate with you about your exhaust manifold.

@@Aldi_mk5 thanks for the speedy reply, watched all your video. This gave me inspiration to convert my mk5 GLI to awd
@@mike15101 lmk I got a full drive train in my garage, location in Fl
Oh yesssss
But what if I want to do it in a 2.0 TDI mk5

You should make a video teaching your cousin how to drive a manual.

Will all these mods also work for MKV Rabbits??

Never ending😂. Mine $3000 in but time for 5 cyl. I’m expecting my rear end and tranny to go pretty quick also
