With a Dji drone it will check the area you are flying in and won't let you takeoff or fly into an area that has restrictions. With the Evo you can takeoff and fly anywhere. It also doesn't limit you to an altitude of 400 feet. You can go into the settings and allow it to go to 1,600 feet.
Hi can anyone tell me if all parts are still available for the version 1 of the evo?im thinking of buying one but I can’t seem to get an answer from autel
Pretty sure I chimed in when this post first went out. Still have and love my Evo 1 among other drones. It is still my favorite when it comes to picture quality. The drone is solid and reliable! I think my longest flight was 1.5 miles and surely could have flown much further. Not a single problem during flight operations! Only issue I ran into years later were the failing batteries but once replaced, this bird was ready to go! Because of the way Autel divested in the Evo 1, I have no confidence in Autel and as nice as the new Nano series are, I still just don't trust Autel! Tempting but so far, they are a NO for me. Also, enjoying my Mavic Air 2 series drones at this time. Thanks Captain Drone for your sharing and kindness!
Still love my Autel Evo,this drone has been solid as a rock.I will fly this over my DJI Air anyday. You do not have the DJI problems , Autel has great customer service too.
I just bought the Evo Fly More Combo for $750 used 5 times. Flies great. Fly time. Stability. Distance. Features. It's great! Looking for the best way to fly FPV as I'm sure I'll find a way soon!
Thanks for the update. We have been considering get an Evo to add to our fleet in the next month or so, and it's good to see it might be a decent investment. We will need it for those times our DJI drones won't let us fly, although we have all of the appropriate LAANC approvals (did that to us on a job recently). Enjoy the weather!
Great stuff, Cap'n! Surprised you didn't mention the new boat take-off feature as you were in the right place for it. When I'm playing EVO 4K footage on my 5K 27in Retina iMac screen, passing family members stop and watch in awe: you have to see the quality of the footage straight out of the camera in order to appreciate it as TH-cam downgrades it of course.
Nice video Steve. I like your videos because are easy to understand the features of any drones. I bought my Evo almost a year ago on black friday and I got a free On the go kit with 2 batteries, case and props. For me the best feature of my Evo is no restrictions like NFZ. You are free to fly it any where. It has great camera and a decent fly time 22 to 24 minutes
Just purchased one of these today! Got a heck of a deal on it from Best Buy. I do outside sales for a solar company and I’m looking forward to having a good drone for roof pictures. Great review!
jonah orr I do not mind talking about it. I got the bundle with the hard carrying case, the additional carrying bag with 2 extra batteries, it came with 5 batteries total, and there was an additional 100 e gift card from Best Buy that came with it. I paid 1,079 before taxes.
Stunning video, Cap'n, well done! I've had the EVO for about 10 months and am very pleased with it. I did have that issue that some have had with the tiny cracks in the controller antennae (even though I am extremely gentle and careful with it), but Autel's excellent support group repaired it under warranty and the problem has not resurfaced. I find the EVO a fantastic drone and if you watch for sales and bundles, you can get it for a very good price. Thanks for the updated review.
Thanks for the review Cap, maybe Autel's next drone will have a digital zoom on it for people who want something between a Parrot and Mavic Zoom. Love that the Evo has a screen built in so I don't have to pull out my phone every time.
Congratulations on the videos! I've been flirting with EVO for a long time, it sounds like a great drone, but like many Brazilians, the fear is of buying and being isolated without parts and assistance / support here in Brazil. For his price you can't risk it right now
Captain I've watched your videos several times, always great and helpful reviews. I just got my Evo about a month ago. I love it. Have several flights already. Autel has the best customer service too. I also have a Typhoon H Pro.
Awesome review.. Hey captain any chance you can do a new review on the Mavic Air? Seems like a lot of people are having issues fly a distance in residential area and wondering what battery life your getting.
I've had my Evo for about a month now and I love it. One thing I just noticed is I do not have the VR option like you do. However in the Mission section you only have the rectangular route. I have rectangular, waypoint flight, and polygon route. I don't think I'd ever fly VR, however I'd like the option. It is an amazing drone and I just love flying it. Thanks for the great review!
Excellent video and an excellent drone!! I'm in the UK so getting one is nearly impossible, but would you say that this is overall better than a Parrot Anafi? I know they're different, but which would you buy? Thanks in advance 😎👍👍🇬🇧
The ANAFI is very light, small portable with a fantastic camera. For someone who travels, this is the perfect drone. The EVO is more for making a nice cinematic movie at a long range. Much heavier drone so a bit less portable. It also has obstacle avoidance sensors in the front.
Good review. With its 4k/60fps camera, no NFZs and the price, offhand I can’t think of anything that matches it. FYI, Autel is trying to establish distributors outside the US. They have one in New Zealand who can do repairs and it can be purchased from a number of dealers there. I bought mine from the Australian distributor early this year, but not sure what’s happening here now.
Purchased my Autel Evo and it is still relevant to me. I Iove the video quality and flying this bird is just plain fun. Yeah, it has its quirks, but the "perfect" consumer grade drone has yet to be produced. I imagine that perfection would come with a hefty price tag. I'll keep my Evo, thanks!
In October of 2018 I began researching which drone I wanted to buy. Originally, my first choice was a Phantom, but then I switched over to a Mavic. Then I heard about the EVO, which made me reconsider everything. Six months later, after watching tons of TH-cam videos (including Captain Drone's) and reading a multitude of forum posts, I pulled the trigger and bought the EVO. After flying the EVO for over 6 months, I haven't regretted that decision at all. It's an incredibly stable drone, and I love the video (even though I very rarely use the 60fps). I bought a tablet to use with it, but to be honest, I enjoy using the controller's screen more. So much less hassle. On the downside, I wish they'd add more features to the app, and the new battery charger was a disappointment in that it doesn't charge all 4 batteries at the same time. And the phone holder is a little too flimsy for a tablet. It feels like it's going to snap off if I move the controller too fast. On the upside (the WAY upside), I've never encountered any of the issues I see on a regular basis in DJI forums. Flyaways, return-to-home into water, losing signal, drones going out of control, incorrect geo-fencing, inconvenient upgrades, compass calibrations, and complaint after complaint about DJI's customer service. The more I see all of that, the more I realize I made the right choice. Thanks, Captain Drone, for helping to steer me in the right direction.
while I ended up not buying it, I still like it a lot. I got the Mavic Air because the Fly More Bundle was on sale at Best Buy and it had what I wanted except 4K at 60FPS. I felt like DJI would back the Air a little better as well. Spending 899.00 verses 1399.00 for their bundle enabled me to get the Osmo Pocket which I had wanted for a while and that was well worth the money. So all in all I thought it came out very well. Great video Steve.
Enjoy your videos, I am thinking about getting a drone but worried it may become one of those items that just sits around the house so initially I don't want to spend a lot of money I am a little more interested in pictures versus video I don't have any video editing experience nor do I have the time to learn right now which drone would you recommend for taking nice pictures
What a good question, I wonder the same about Walkera and Yuneec as well. Yuneec came out with a new product but, it was just a camera, the drone has not changed.
Morning, nice video. Oh how I love shooting in 60fps. I fixed my button on the back problem by taking 2 small stripes of sheet metal with a a slight kink in the middle (just enough to go over the button) and used cloth tape to secure it. It works great and no more media screen popping up. Also in the mission screen I have 3 different mission options. I don't think your update is completing. Also you didn't mention Boat Mode. again great video. Thanks. :-)
Hi ya Captain ,great vid! I know that Autel do not sell the Evo in the uk,but i managed to get hold of one! great drone, great camera, and,to be honest i like it as much,if not more then then my Mavic 2 pro...colours on the camera are great, and need virtually no editing, plus,as you say, this drone fly's great, and a very respectable flight time. definitely still relevant!!! 👍👍👍
Great video. I am trying to decide between Mavic Air, Mavic pro platinum and now thanks to your video the Autel EVO. Trying to justify pulling the trigger for a Mavic pro/ Zoom for a first time would be drone owner.
Mr G the original Mavic Pro was the game changer for drones. I’ve owned Parrot drones for years and didn’t have a clue that something existed that could fly for miles straight from your driveway. I can only imagine what the MP2 possibilities is. I now own 2 Mavic Pro’s...and I fly them everyday!!!
Though no drone is perfect all around, the Evo stands its ground. The Mavic 2 Zoom is my preferred quad simply because it allows me to get better close up appearing shots from further away allowing me to film somewhat more discreetly. The zoom on the Evo is respectable up to 2X, but beyond that magnification, the image quality progressively degrades to unacceptability. Not really fair to compare on that level as the Evo does not have a moving lens and rightly so at that price point. My other gripe about the Evo is that flimsy camera cover /protector which I think they could easily improve. Those gripes aside, there have been many a time where I needed a good clean safe shot and my Mavic 2 Zoom often won't start due to hugely incorrect circular NFZ restrictions. Depending where you live, this can be a significant problem as it is here in Southern California's congested areas, and there is not always time to legally unlock to get the shot. But the Evo always comes through. Knowing I can depend on it in all practicality makes it a much more relevant & useful tool for me.
@@theurbanartist775 Evo's range in urban areas is comparatively pretty good though I'd definitely give occusync the edge. I'd put the Evo at about 80% of what you'd get out of occusyn....and then we're talking out of eyesight distances anyway, so not sure it really matters so much on a practical level.
Overall I like my Evo but I'd like to see more improvements in the firmware. Some issues I have so far - 1. The video auto exposure is horrible, constantly blasting out highlights with only minor lighting changes. I don't use it much. And using manual exposure with the fixed aperture lens means you absolutely need a set of good ND filters to get high quality video. 2. There is no wind detection so if I am out of audible motor range I can't tell if the drone is fighting a headwind. This could be a major issue since winds aloft are frequently far different than ground winds. 3. Tracking mode could be improved. It loses a subject fairly easily with quick direction changes. And it won't track with altitude. 4. Precision landing seems to be a bit random. Sometimes it hits the landing pad dead center and sometimes it's two or three feet off. I usually land manually if I'm in rocky or uneven terrain since I can't trust the auto landing. It seems to lose accuracy when changing modes from Precision to Standard then back to Precision. 5. Time lapse selections could be improved. They need slower speeds and shorter exposure intervals to make smooth video possible without extensive post correction.
Great! Unfortunately, they are just distributors vice an AUTEL office which means it could be here today, gone tomorrow, but it certainly is a good start. Do they also handle all AUTEL service repairs?
Nice overview. Thanks for taking the time. I have an EVO on order, your vid has me really looking forward to it. Where did you shoot this? Beautiful location.
Can you also make a video like this but then about the DJI Mavic Air? Is that drone also a good option to consider in 2019 or is it a better idea to wait for the new DJI drone in 2020? Thanks! Greetings from the Netherlands
Great video once again. Just wanted to let you know that I purchased my Evo about a month ago at Walmart.ca. I was surprised to see it on the Walmart website.they have some great bundles on the site. Love my Evo and for some reason I seem to get better pictures out of it then I did with my mavic 2 pro.
It's up at the top end of performers, not many can be out and still be a real option for someone that wants Great Video and the point you made at the beginning not necessarily using cell to fly People, Brands, Drone producers take note! Some 3-4 hanging in the top is What I call GreatJob , This episode to me just make This Drone Stand Out and Show Staying Power,There is a reason price has been steady! When It Real Quity it will be around for a while. Its Meant to
Very nice package. Looks like it's very high quality in all aspects including the build. Love the channel. Do you plan on reviewing any of the Flysky transmitters, more specifically the FS-i8? Looks like an unbelievable piece of equipment at a phenomenal price. Kind of like the Evo! Cheers and happy flying.!
Regardless of the built in tech and advances that have been made in the industry the majority of the higher end consumer drones will still perform wonderfully and should do so for quite some time. As long as the drone performs well and does everything you need it to do you should be fine. Unless something groundbreaking happens and some insane new features arrive I think they will all remain relevant.
Hard fact for those who want to get the Evo in the EU is it will end up being more expensive than the Mavic 2 pro Zoom via Amazon after their amazing ~$350 import duty/taxes. This made a no brainer to not go for the Mavic 2 Pro and just be done with it for the next 2-3Years and 3D print parts like a monkey if required :} Keep up the good work Capn' Drone! 10/10
Thank you for the solid review. I based my purchase on your information. I did return the Powervision Egg X since it had trouble connecting to my Android device, and cancelled my Skydio 2 order. First flights was quick and video and stills look very good. Like the no flight restrictions as well. In my opinion, DJI goes too far in restricting and monitoring locations.
Pretty much only international drone companies have NFZ due to selling around the world. The smaller companies like AUTEL which sell in a tiny number of countries (3 or 4 at most) have no such restrictions but as soon as they go international (if they ever do), then the flight restrictions will come.
Hey Cap, my company is looking to upgrade drones. Budget of probably up to $1,000 ish. Primary use would be construction project progress, roof inspections and down the road(I know not for under $1,000) surveying. Any advice on the best drone? Primarily looking for camera quality. Thanks
Sounds like you will keep the drone nearby so you don't need range. Inspections require a camera with zoom. The parrot ANAFI has Zoom. The Mavic 2 Zoom has Obstacle Avoidance + Camera Zoom. The ANAFI is in your price range & a used DJI Mavic 2 Zoom may also work. Other options are the AUTEL EVO 1. (it has a digital zoom and forward obstacle avoidance).
Hmmm, I am in a bit of a bind here... I love my Evo, but after 16 months with regular flying, the battery seems to be failing. I am very concerned about this. Is this a problem with the Autel Evo System? Any chance you can collect comments from those of us that have really been flying them for this past year plus to find out how the batteries are doing? Is 90 flights a reasonable life for this battery? Are my expectations for a 200 flights unreasonable? Any help you can be on this issue would be appreciated.
Lipo batteries do not have a set lifespan because it all depends on the user. If you drain it, charge it when warm, store it for long periods, use it in different temps, etc (which is all normal) the lifespan of how much flight time you get and how much voltage is available to the drone will diminish. In the world of FPV RACE QUADS we buy batteries like they are going out of stock. We have professional charge and balance systems, and most times we are lucky if we get one season of flying out of any ten batteries. So to answer your question.... there is nothing wrong with the battery. It's time to invest in some new ones.
The Evo is my next drone purchase, and i have known that for a while. But i noticed in this video the greens looked a bit dull maybe due to a overcast day or a high blue content , is it possible to adjust the colours to warmer in the Evo ?
In drones like the EVO the props will sow (same as the MAVIC PRO) especially if moving too quickly forward with camera up or when turning because the gimbal attempts to catch up and will catch a prop now and then.
It's 2021 and I have an opportunity to buy a used Evo with 3 batteries in case and original box. Good shape. Still good or should I look for newer versions? What would be good price to offer for the Evo? Currently flying a Dji Spark.
The "rectangular route" is exactly what I need for photogrammetry. I see in the settings there's "camera action". Does it let you change camera pitch at different points in the route? I'm thinking about getting a 2nd hand Evo..
Great timing on this video, I've been saving up a lot lately and the Evo is one of the things I have been saving up to get. Hoping to get it sometime October, maybe November at the latest since life likes to throw curve balls at ya
Let me tell something else about the EVO, it is crash worthy! Twice I didn't secure the props and twice it fell from about 10 feet with a prop flying off. ABSOLUTELY NO DAMAGE! I film in 1080p because of my computer doesn't have 4K capability, but let me say the pictures and videos are great. It is a first rate flying machine and on the Ludicrous setting it flies like a bat out of hell! It is a keeper!
I have a question for you: Does this drone ONLY film in 4k 60 fps? I am looking at getting a new drone and this one has popped up on my radar (from watching this video) the price point is a major plus as its only 1199.00 U.S. dollars for the combo pack with 3 batteries! much lower then the mavic 2 zoom at 1899.00 U.S. dollars. (both prices on Amazon) So, Black Friday just might be the time I check this out and see how far it goes down in price! Thank you for this video!!
I heard Autel may be raising their prices Oct 1st so waiting for Black Friday might not pan out. I bought mine a couple weeks ago and got a great package deal, 4 batteries, charging hub, extra set of propellers, SD card. The only way to make this drone irrelevant is if they somehow reposition the blades and let the gimbal rotate upwards past 0 degrees.
As always great video. Autel does look like a good drone. Its just too bad that it is sold only in the US. Would have preferred if they were a bit more available to the rest of the world but ohhh well. Still I prefer my mavic 2 zoom over the autel. I think DJI has a better product and they are a bit more widely available than autel.
The only problem with this drone is that sometimes I got to see the props flying forward. So it's better to tilt your camera a bit down. Love my Evo. I picked up the rugged version with 2 extra batteries so total of 5 batteries and I'm all set lol.
The follow me function on the EVO is not as good as that of the DJI products, but it does work, but it won't follow you if you walk near an object and it won't follow you up and down a hill. But for out in the open, it works fine.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 for me that was a fail. As I pointed out. This is a premium price point. You expect it to compete equal with its competitors. I like the color. My single biggest complaint about DJI. No color really. Not on their premium products. Grays and blacks. Save the Inspire 1's, which were black and white. A nice HiViz orange or yellow M2P would be great.
One could hope that the price would go lower, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Autel did indeed announce a price increase, but they are holding back as best they can. I believe that the Autel EVO is a better deal than the Mavic 2 Zoom because of the $900.00 price difference when similarly equipped.
I called Autel. They said if you don't update each battery, it'll still fly fine. I updated their latest update through my phone. Maybe it updated the one battery, but not the other two. Still flies perfect with the other two, unupdated batteries.
@Agent К_видео, cool guy I talked to. I said I could only update firmware through my phone. He said if I power on with one of the other batteries and it tells me to update, then do it, via phone. But if it doesn't prompt an update while using another battery... It's okay. He said it wouldn't affect flight. But he did say to manually do it if I can get to computer via SD card. I called after I bought it off Facebook and realized it prompted me to update. Flying DJi in the past, I know ty make you update all batteries. I assume he knows the new battery firmware was for charging and discharging and nothing to do with connecting to drone in flight and wouldn't create issues. I don't know. That's what he said. I then went outside and flew with all 3 batteries, the 2 unupdated ones worked exactly as the one in the drone during update. 🤷♂️
I just took my Evo on the first flight had lot of fun I was surprised how quiet it was I only charge up one of my batteries left the other 2 at home I was kicking myself for not charging my other 2 batteries Mavic air was my favorite one I think that will change
I believe the GoPro Karma is in a museum. It was a big, heavy, loud, limited feature drone with no range. GoPro realized it would have taken millions to develop the drone into something that people would consider against the competition, so they gave up and cancelled it.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I understand the big and heavy part but the features and range it has all the features except obstacle avoidance and has smart WiFi and the range is like 2.something miles there's several range videos the first model was bad though I take it you don't like the drone
What I'm looking for is a good drone that has a monitor in the remote has a range of 1.5 to 2 miles at least a good camera and comes with a nice carrying case or backpack any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks
I bought mine in July 2019 at Bestbuy for $1,000. It includes the On The Go Bundle which had a soft carry case 2 extra batteries. They also included a $100 Bestbuy gift card, a 64gb memory card and a $25 Shutterfly gift card. After I bought it I would check back at Bestbuy online and I never saw the same deal. Just recently they've brought it back. I think instead of discounting the price Autel does promo deals where they bundle in extra freebies.
I will seriously consider this on Black Friday. BUT the sale would have to knock my socks off. You kind of made me nervous when you said it would last for only 2 more years. Not sure what you meant. 🤔🤔🤔.
When a new drone by DJI comes out with advancements in technology, the EVO will begin to look old. Also, most companies will only update firmware on a drone with new features for a maximum of two years.
You can slowly zoom in with the evo as in digital zoom? I thought you had to select the zoom level manually then it would just programmatically zoom in. I am thinking you did that in post?
I love AUTO :-) For these tests and demos I leave everything on AUTO and add no color correction in post production and use no filters. This way if someone else bought the same drone and flew under the same lighting conditions, they get the same results.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Yeah that is a valid point. Someone else could recreate the same results flying. The downside to that is color shifting and some of these birds auto settings aren't very good. With a little knowledge that can be correct and in manual you can match footage a little better without color shifts. If that's not important auto it is.
Its very relevant, it more relevant than the 2 mavics, the the mp2 abd the zoom, if u check out the youtube channels , u see on the mavics , there are rarely any new videos, if u check the ones one the evo , there are new videos every day.
Well Captain.. I commented on the EVO and here you pop up with a new video of it 😎 Coincidence??? Timing??? Both??? LOL. I like the explanation on how Autel works, makes sense... They have a lot of BS to go through in order to do new things. I think they can play with the EVO framework in order to satisfy a lot of different markets... They have it figured out, just needs some customizing for some😁 I like it!! I want one!! Yes, saving my pennies 😎😁 Thank you very much for the video and your opinion!!!!
Cap'n, it's a great drone with a great camera - just somehow the confidence of long term support from Autel is really not there for me 😒 - I hope they last forever - but?
Love my EVO. Been flying since it was released. The “No flight restrictions” sold me. Better than DJI Imo.
what is No flight restrictions?
With a Dji drone it will check the area you are flying in and won't let you takeoff or fly into an area that has restrictions. With the Evo you can takeoff and fly anywhere. It also doesn't limit you to an altitude of 400 feet. You can go into the settings and allow it to go to 1,600 feet.

Rob Weaver , thanks rob, I’m in Australia and I was wondering if I could get one here.
Wow enjoy the weather while it lasts we're getting snow here in Alberta already
My deepest sympathies. Gotta love global warming hiccups.
The EVO takes good photos as do many other drones in a similar price range.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I am seeing pricing for the Evo around $1000, is there a less expensive machine that can take decent pictures.
@@gdvsev Surprisingly the DJI Spark takes great photos.
Thanks. :-)
I think you're correct about my update, either that or it is due to me using ANDROID (different options). Nice idea with the buttons.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 FYI I'm using an Android , phone and tablet..
Mr G If l were you and I did.... you should go with the platinum. I did in February of this year. 7 months later no regrets. 👍👍👍
Knowing I can depend on it in all practicality makes it a much more relevant & useful tool for me.
bryantturner97 how is the Evo’s range in urban areas? Does it compare to occusync?
@@theurbanartist775 Evo's range in urban areas is comparatively pretty good though I'd definitely give occusync the edge. I'd put the Evo at about 80% of what you'd get out of occusyn....and then we're talking out of eyesight distances anyway, so not sure it really matters so much on a practical level.
bryantturner97 thanks
Steve, they do sell overseas. There is a distributor in New Zealand and they are in process of appointing a new one in Australia. Cheers, Rob
I'm going to wait until black Friday to purchase this drone thanks for the video and on going content for us drone lovers 🤗
Another great vid cap! I have an EVO and love it. One question, How did you zoom in on yourself so smooth, (at 10:14 to 10:19) in post?
This was awhile ago so I don't recall, but since the EVO does not have a smooth zoom it must have been in post.
Can you also make a video like this but then about the DJI Mavic Air? Is that drone also a good option to consider in 2019 or is it a better idea to wait for the new DJI drone in 2020? Thanks! Greetings from the Netherlands
Yes, I hope to have a Mavic Air video out in the future.
Thanks Captain I've always like the Evo looking at reviews. I don't have one. Enjoy your weekend mate👍

Great review Captain. One Q: is the EVO also affected by NFZ like all DJI drones? Thank you for your great channel!
EVO is not affected by NFZ
CAPTAIN DRONE SOLD!! I am putting my order right now!
I live in a small small caribean Island and that is the best feature of my Evo. No NFZ or no restrictions like DJI drones.
sold my mavic pro to buy an evo. It’ll be here Saturday I can’t wait
I'd love to have this drone. Everything I could ever want and imagine this drone has. I've never been a must have the popular item person.
Prices have come down quite a bit. It looks like Autel will be announcing the Evo 2 in January at CES.
I enjoyed the video. Whatever company produces a good sub 250g drone will get my business.
Mark Kenney zino and fimi x8 se are the two closest ones. Maybe when they go on sale.
Flysky is for the RC hobby of planes, drones, boats, cars.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 The Flysky FS-i8 looks like a nice radio though.
If I flew more than race quads then I'd consider something like that.
Really interesting video. Shame there was no outlet here in the UK holding stock of the Evo.
No flight restrictions - I'm sold. Great video review as usual
Hard fact for those who want to get the Evo in the EU is it will end up being more expensive than the Mavic 2 pro Zoom via Amazon after their amazing ~$350 import duty/taxes. This made a no brainer to not go for the Mavic 2 Pro and just be done with it for the next 2-3Years and 3D print parts like a monkey if required :}
Keep up the good work Capn' Drone!
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thank you for your insight, I appreciate it!
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thanks for taking the time to reply. And for your comments and thoughts.
The Evo is my next drone purchase, and i have known that for a while. But i noticed in this video the greens looked a bit dull maybe due to a overcast day or a high blue content , is it possible to adjust the colours to warmer in the Evo ?
Yes, you can adjust the white balance to a kelvin scale.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Ah cool, thanks
I only briefly noticed the props in the upper left. I'm considering the EVO and wonder if the props showing up is a problem?
In drones like the EVO the props will sow (same as the MAVIC PRO) especially if moving too quickly forward with camera up or when turning because the gimbal attempts to catch up and will catch a prop now and then.
Thank you...
Is it possible to plug the evo directly to your tv to watch flight videos using the USB cable, keep the videos coming I love em..
Dones have a USB out to be read as an external drive on your computer, so perhaps it would work on some TVs.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 thank you for the reply, I just received my evo rugged bundle yesterday so I'm excited to get to flying. I'll give it a try.
Update, well it works! 😄
It is still very, very relevant today. I just hope they have a follow up dont just stop there.
It's 2021 and I have an opportunity to buy a used Evo with 3 batteries in case and original box. Good shape. Still good or should I look for newer versions? What would be good price to offer for the Evo? Currently flying a Dji Spark.
Probably $600 or less.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 thanks! Worth buying?
The "rectangular route" is exactly what I need for photogrammetry. I see in the settings there's "camera action". Does it let you change camera pitch at different points in the route? I'm thinking about getting a 2nd hand Evo..
I don't recall if it allowed for camera pitch changes.
It's available in Walmart in Canada now. They definitely have expanded.
Hi, after all the comparisons you have made, which do you recommend, Mavic 2 Zoom or Autel Evo ???
If you need obstacle avoidance, follow me, autonomous flight modes then the ZOOM is the one. If you don't then the EVO will save you some $$.
Morning sir. I am FIRST. Have a great weekend. And show us plenty of the foliage of that beautiful Canadian landscape.
Great timing on this video, I've been saving up a lot lately and the Evo is one of the things I have been saving up to get. Hoping to get it sometime October, maybe November at the latest since life likes to throw curve balls at ya
My Evo is also very reliable. I would not ever leave it behind.
Nice video mate👍 and the USA isn't the only place this drone is sold.. Autel Australia
I don't believe Autel Australia is an entity like Autel USA.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I'm glad it's sold in Australia though I've wanted one for ages.
That’s it ,I’m convinced this will deffo be my next drone ☝️☝️☝️
Beautiful country and the Evo makes it look great.
Which part of Canada? The scene is awesome. Love to have one but no sales support in Asia.
I'm out in Ottawa, Ontario.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 great place. I lived there for a few months many years ago.
It records at multiple resolutions (all the popular ones).

Mission come with software is a bonus...no need to install 3rd party software such as Drone Deploy or Pix4d...suitable for mapping👍👍
Nice review. Picked one up used and it’s a blast.
Good day Captain Drone, is the Autel EVO one, still relevant in 2021. This is for those who can't buy a new drone every three-four years. Important!
If you can find one then yes, still good if the price is right. They usually sell for $500 or less used.
EVO is my choice. My P3 and Mavic sit idle. EVO hands down is the best consumer drone. Period.
Drone stuff how does it compare to Mavic Pro range wise in urban areas?
Hmmm I guess that's a matter of perspective. It is extraordinary for sure. I would argue depending on your use it isn't hands down the best.
In 2021 if you can get a refurb with hard case for $799 or DJI Mini 2 which is a better choice?
Those are two very different drones. One is an under 250 gram drone and the other is a large camera drone.
Hi Capi, did you upgraded your Autel Evo to 1.5.8 firmware?
I had, but apparently it did not take.
Looking to buy my first drone to take video and photos and I cant afford to lose $1500 my first time so I think this is gonna be it. Love the videos.
Dji Now you have a rival, and it is better for the quality of shooting, range and flight time, and the price is adequate, 4k 60 fps, Cool drone 5+
Very good video. Thanks 👍
The only problem with this drone is that sometimes I got to see the props flying forward. So it's better to tilt your camera a bit down. Love my Evo. I picked up the rugged version with 2 extra batteries so total of 5 batteries and I'm all set lol.
An ND Filter will help with removing props from the image
Failed on the follow me as I recall. The Mavic did not fail. At a 1000 USD+ you can and should expect better.
You said that you updated your firmware, but it still appears. Did you do the firmware update to all of your batteries?
Only when needed.
👍#478: These types of videos are what I strive to do.Thanks for sharing this with me!👌😎😍
I just took my Evo on the first flight had lot of fun I was surprised how quiet it was I only charge up one of my batteries left the other 2 at home I was kicking myself for not charging my other 2 batteries Mavic air was my favorite one I think that will change
Love your videos, capt.! More power!!! 😍😍😍🖖
If you could I would like you to do a video on the GoPro karma I really value your comments and thinking about getting one
It's kind of weird but you have to do the firmware upgrade with each battery you have.
Yeah, DJI does that as well. It is a way of ensuring that the owner only uses batteries sold by the company and no 3rd party batteries.
Ahh I see. Didn't know that.
The ZOOM is manual and you select the "X Zoom"
I’ve also found that auto exposure it’s best. Keeps the yellow tint away. Lol I mention it cause I seen your auto exposure was on. 👍🏽
I love AUTO :-)
For these tests and demos I leave everything on AUTO and add no color correction in post production and use no filters.
2021 and I can't decide if I want to get this one or pull the trigger on the Evo Pro ll.
Its very relevant, it more relevant than the 2 mavics, the the mp2 abd the zoom, if u check out the youtube channels , u see on the mavics , there are rarely any new videos, if u check the ones one the evo , there are new videos every day.
Well Captain.. I commented on the EVO and here you pop up with a new video of it 😎
Coincidence??? Timing???
Both??? LOL.
I like the explanation on how Autel works, makes sense... They have a lot of BS to go through in order to do new things.
I think they can play with the EVO framework in order to satisfy a lot of different markets... They have it figured out, just needs some customizing for some😁
I like it!! I want one!! Yes, saving my pennies 😎😁
Thank you very much for the video and your opinion!!!!
I felt the same. Lol i kept asking him as well!
Cap'n, it's a great drone with a great camera - just somehow the confidence of long term support from Autel is really not there for me 😒 - I hope they last forever - but?
