I decided to go with the Autel evo lite+ over the 2S because it has no geofencing, better camera and no problem acquiring satélites. Also the price is $1649 in a lot of places for the premium bundle. @@silverpro8356 I was enjoying the drone, nice pictures well constructed and long flight times then last week it got disconnected while recording a lighthouse. I have try everything and the disconnects still there. It won’t go past 1570 feet it just disconnect and RTH. With the software upgrade yesterday still disconnects and now my controller won’t charge. I’m very disappointed and Autel DO NOT answer the phone😔

@@silverpro8356 I finally was able to solve my problems. The disconnects were solved by putting my phone in airplane mode and turning WiFi off. I was able to fly the way it was designed. The control not charging? I also fly a mavic air and The charging port, is the phone port. I was trying to charge my Lite controller in the wrong port😬
1st flight yesterday. First the "negative": 1. No histogram, when I'm in pro mode, I do not know the ev and therefore how dark the shot is. 2.Confusing application. 3. No log, 4. The comments about the sticks of the rc, and the propellers, are absolutely correct. 5. Difficult to install and remove the battery. EVERYTHING ELSE IS JUST EXCELLENT! Huge impression the NIGHT SHOTS. It's beyond imagination! The overall quality of the camera leaves you speechless! Autel Lite+ even as it is at the moment (it needs a lot of work) is the real king!! If Autel makes the necessary corrections soon, THE ENTIRE DJI SERIES (AIR2S, MAVIC3) is PAST...
They're so close to making a good drone but these issues are holding it back. I don't understand how they can look at a DJI controller and then think theirs can compete... Make it fold small and give us a place for sticks and cable!

@@JevenDovey I think the control opinion is going to be in the eye of the beholder. Almost every review I seen, they praise the Autel control and dislike the DJI. But you have good points. I think is going to be personal preference when it comes to the controller. If this drone had histogram and it was 10 bit it would be very hard to beat for the price.
As an Air 2s owner, the images from the Lite+ that I've been seeing on reviews do look better (particularly low light and also shadowed areas in daylight), but overall the design, build quality and functionality of the Air 2s appear to be superior. As for night photography/filming, the Lite + is far, far superior.
The design of the legs probably help assist the drone when landing. It does fit in the back pack, and to me it seems more a personal nit pick. I would bet if you got a back pack designed for the autel evo lite plus it would not be an issue. The controller seems to be a plus for every other reviewer than yours. Not having a place for the joystick was a small take away for every other review. To me the Autel controller looks more ergonomic. 8 bit and no d log are legitimate take aways, but I hear they will be coming in the future. The slow panoramic shooting and, 8 bit and no d log has me getting a Mavic 3, but I will be posting night shots and this is where the Evo lite plus starts to shine as well as the battery.
Interesting.... Not the same drone, but I have an Evo 2 Pro and an Air 2S, and I've always thought the build quality of the Autel was noticeably superior: DJI's drones feel like cheap toys in comparison. I do find myself more often using the Air 2S because of how light it is and how it fits in my bag, so I like that he addresses that here.

I was really considering getting the Lite plus about a year & half ago, but I already had the AIR 2S, so I bought the Mavic 3 instead. I'm planning on trying it out, this weekend.
I just ordered one of these just to get rid of geofencing with DJI. DJI restricts flight in places that aren't really restricted in the US. Otherwise I would have gone with the Mavic 3 to get the 3 cameras. BTW I've never had DJI charging work with my iPhones
I own several DJI drones, My Mini 4 Pro & AIR 3 are incredible. But you hit the nail on the head with Geo fencing. I'm buying the Autel EVO Lite+ for that reason..

So crazy YT un subs people. Since this video they have updated lots of the features so it is a better drone now. Overall it flys well and gets a good image.
I got a super July 4th deal on the EVO lite+ through the Autel site. A few thoughts here. A lot of the video I've seen from the drone appears darker by default darker compared to the Mavic Pro or Air2s. Also it seems a lot of drone reviews focus primarily on video but it has been my experience that a much larger percentage of customers in my area have been interested in photos over video. At this point when deciding on a new drone I think the fact that DJI is under threat of being banned for all U.S. users should be a strong consideration. I do like the fact that Autel does not do Geo fencing and require an unlock. If that changes in the future I think it should only apply to pilots who do not have a part 107 remote pilot certificate. Certainly many people such as realtors and roofers are doing projects with the Autel that would otherwise require a Part 107 to unlock some areas. This is unfair to professionals who are following the rules.
Interesting comparison between these three advanced camera drones.. Each one having pro's and con's. The Air 2s is better priced than the rest, the Lite+ is better at night photography and the Mavic 3 is more full featured. And I've had the Mavic 3 since November and had many flights so far, and I average between 30 to 35 minutes of flight time. And I live in cold and winter climate at the Jersey Shore in the winter months. Another Great video Jeven, and thanks for sharing.
Awesome video! I see that there's no POI/Smart Orbit flight mode on the Autel drone but I see it has a Hyperlapse option with Manual and Orbit mode. While on Hyperlapse-Orbit mode - is the Autel capable or taking 100-150 photos circling around an object? Also, are the photos geo-tagged? I'm a surveyor and we need to be able to capture approx 200-300 geo-tagged photos around structures in order to create a 3D render on a separate software - the software supports any drone that takes geo-tagged imagery.
You have pointed out my major complaints. It's not a big drone but the way it folds and the tall feet makes it difficult to pack. (While Mavic 3 tilt the arms to increase the height from ground.) The remote extrudes on top also take up more space. Sky app is pretty clean but has a lot to improve as guys has mentioned. besides, the interval between 1X and 2X of the on screen zoom dial should be increased, or add a 1.3X button as it's the largest lossless zoom image.
Great review of the pros and cons of the Lite+ drone. I'm an Autel fan having owned the Evo and currently have the Evo 2 Pro 6k edition along with an Air 2S. Watching the video has me rethinking buying this and getting rid of the Air 2S. I just don't do enough flying to justify having three drones. Your review has definitely given me food for thought. I have a freind who owns both a DJI and an Autel. He said he never uses the DJI on a job. The Autel is more reliable at a job. Although I do not fly my DJI for money, I found out what he was talking about when one day it took me over 20 minutes to get DJI to unlock my drone. This does not an issue with Autel. The autel does not have geofencing, thus one must fly more responsibly with the Autel, but ya won't loose a job due to geofencing.
I have an air2s and I absolutely love it although it’s my first drone ever . I just wish I had stuff to actually film and knew more about color grading.
Great review! This one is at the top of my list along with the Skydio 2+ although the more I look at the skydio, the less I think it will be able to follow me on our dense mid-west trails 😞 I'd swear I read recently that the Autel lite+ is getting 10bit and dlog in a future firmware update but I never trust speculation and probably wouldn't use dlog anyway. Total noob and honestly the default footage from that thing looks so good I'd probably just make it worse LOL!
I'm returning air 2s back. had enough with stupid geo fencing. I bought the drone I mean to fly it not ask for permission everytime I need to fly. and 30min flight time is a winner.
Very well thought out presentation with a few points I was not aware of. Good one, Jevon. I've had the Evo 1. I own the Air 2S. Right now it is my go-to drone. I really can't afford the Mavic 3. And I'm not sure I would want it anyway considering all the bad press it gets. I have had my eye on the Autel Evo Lite + for a while now. One of the cons you mentioned was no d-log or H265. Not as important to me. The d-log in the Evo 1, I thought, was terrible. And I would be using the Lite + mostly for low-light to urban darkness for most of it's uses. Still not quite sold on it, though, as the Air 2S is killing it for me at night.
Out of the box picturs of the Evo lite plus are spectacular. I would love to have the Mavic 3, and this for night shots here in NY. I am cute trying to decide whic to get 1st. The Mavic 3 GPS issues are notorious at the moment, and this gives me pause for a software fix or version .2 update to correct this if it is mechanical. No one makes a perfect drone, but if overall flight time and picture quality matter then Autel tops the Air 2s. I don't own a drone but research to facts over fan boy 💯 helps me to say this. So now I may end up with both a Mavic 3 and Evo lite plus. I will probably take your color grading course in the future after passing my part 107, and buying my 1st drone.😉

It is not 6K, but the same resolution as the air 2s because the sensor is the same at least the base, so it is actually 5.4k like the autel evo 2 pro, you can check it in the data of the files or your editing softare
Very nice review but I will disagree with the flight time. With Mavic 3 I get almost 38 39 minutes in no wind conditions. 35 in windy conditions. Also, 6K in Evo is not 6k but 5.4k
I think its a fair comparison to the air2s but the evo2 pro v2 would be a better comparison with the mavic 3. Ive gone mostly Evo2 pro. They are great but have their quirks. But not having the horrible DJI Geofencing is the biggest benefit.

U get what u pay for. But the reality is these cost more and the signal is sad... not too mention u can't dolly zoom or even zoom smoothly. I will get an autel eventually bc they don't geofence or give people bs. But quality dji is better. Especially for the price. I can't stand having geo fencing. But hey if u cut off ur wifi and maps most of the time it goes away bc its lost it just knows home point and that's all we need
TBH it's not that I'm less open-minded about going for non-DJI drones, it's just that I haven't found one that delivers the same kind or better flying experience than DJIs
I wanted to buy another drone from Autel (I have the Evo 1), but the experience I had with the Autel Nano Plus was underwhelming (returned for full refund)....waiting patiently for the DJI Mini 3...here DJI, take my money!!! 😀 I graduated from SCHS in 1989...love San Clemente and Dana Point....my folks live in HB, and I get back as often as I can. The main problem of the Lite + is that the gimbal wanders around and messes up hyperlapses, video and long exposure photos. Let's hope they fix it soon.
A little outdated, now. The remote does indeed charge your phone, and the tracking is pretty good. Also, I didn't hear mention of DJI's geofencing, which can totally suck. I don't want to give a company money and have them turn around and play mommy to me.
I own the Evo Lite +, I don't understand how you manage to go so far ! I can go maximum 300 meters aways (and 150 meters high) before losing signal, it's so pathetic. I use it with a Galaxy S21+. Whereas with my Mavic 3 Pro I can fly 5km away !

Which drone shoots better video according to your own experience? And by how much the quality between the two differs ? Both DJI Air 2s and Evo Lite+ have same 5.6k resolution, how do the still images compare ? Would be happy to hear your answer 😁
@@deepanshurai4863 Really hard to tell. The Evo has great color on auto right out of box. The Air2s is also fabulous. ELP is soooo steady in the wind. Enjoy both. Fly ELP a bit more.
I legitimately never used the histogram on any camera ever. False colors yes, zebras yes, never histogram. I've been on huge productions with movie, tv and musician stars and the staff never messed with histograms. I'm surprised that's even a thing they're inaccurate, hard to read and outdated IMO.
There’s no options for any of those on this drone. Would live false colors or adjustable zebras over a histogram but the only this this drone has is an over exposure warning which isn’t super helpful
Relative to the the mavic3 the AUTEL DOES NOT FALL OUT OF THE SKY FOR NO REASON AND CRASH. My Mavic 3s fell for no reason. I've flown 2 mav 3's. They crashed 3 times with no explenation. The Autel is not as stable, but it's video is perfect AND DOESNT CRASH for no reason. Autel makes tough drones. DJI makes touchy sensitive drones.
Controller feels nice but dumb design. It doesn’t pack well and you can’t store the cable or sticks in it. A few tweaks and it would be much better than a DJI.
@@JevenDovey i dont know why everyone is complaining so much about storing the sticks ? just put them in small pocket in your bag and adjust the camera bag to fit remote its easy.
Having bought an Autel back in October 2022 and crashed it in January, I can tell you that Autel customer service is shockingly bad. I had a crash with a Mini years ago and the customer service is not even comparible. I would urge anyone thinking of Autel (mainly due to the no geo-fencing) to think again. It has been one of the worst companies I've dealt with in the last 30 years.
As for the dji fly app, the case is now a bad joke. Every 15 days new version. And because it supports 7 DIFFERENT drones, it makes one, and spoils the rest. And a question: Why is the Autel sky app, available from the google store, while the dji fly app, has been banned for a year ?
The controller charging the Phone is Bad, just bad. Now the controller wont last near as long, Or it's battery charge cycles. I wish I could stop this behavior.
How can DJI release a drone and charge so much and the image isnt even any better than the mavic 2 pro thats just disgusting to be honest really dissapointed in dji. Seems like they did hardly anything to the camera.
@@JevenDovey If you look at both images side by side there is no differance in sharpness or detail just a bit better colour science. Which when your paying so much over for a drone you should get alot more for what they are asking. Even the 2s is sharper in footage. Which is why im guessing alot of these youtubers are returning the mavic 3. If you look at it honestly and not as a fanboy or a youtuber who is trying to be on DJI good side you realise really fast that your not getting alot for your money .
Mostly agree with you the Autel controller does kinda suck to put into a bag, but is feels way better than the DJI in my hands. Which matters more? Also the controller charges my Android tablet. Either it is an update thing or an apple issue.

Yup. Love the image i'm getting from the Lite + but its hindered by 8 bit, design and functionality. They're so close though

I would always choose air 2s over the Aurelius one.. only because of the Log profile.. currently using mavic air 2..

I have an air2s and I absolutely love it although it’s my first drone ever . I just wish I had stuff to actually film and knew more about color grading.

Great review! This one is at the top of my list along with the Skydio 2+ although the more I look at the skydio, the less I think it will be able to follow me on our dense mid-west trails 😞
I'd swear I read recently that the Autel lite+ is getting 10bit and dlog in a future firmware update but I never trust speculation and probably wouldn't use dlog anyway. Total noob and honestly the default footage from that thing looks so good I'd probably just make it worse LOL!

Very well thought out presentation with a few points I was not aware of. Good one, Jevon. I've had the Evo 1. I own the Air 2S. Right now it is my go-to drone. I really can't afford the Mavic 3. And I'm not sure I would want it anyway considering all the bad press it gets. I have had my eye on the Autel Evo Lite + for a while now. One of the cons you mentioned was no d-log or H265. Not as important to me. The d-log in the Evo 1, I thought, was terrible. And I would be using the Lite + mostly for low-light to urban darkness for most of it's uses. Still not quite sold on it, though, as the Air 2S is killing it for me at night.
Out of the box picturs of the Evo lite plus are spectacular. I would love to have the Mavic 3, and this for night shots here in NY. I am cute trying to decide whic to get 1st. The Mavic 3 GPS issues are notorious at the moment, and this gives me pause for a software fix or version .2 update to correct this if it is mechanical.
No one makes a perfect drone, but if overall flight time and picture quality matter then Autel tops the Air 2s.
I don't own a drone but research to facts over fan boy 💯 helps me to say this. So now I may end up with both a Mavic 3 and Evo lite plus.
I will probably take your color grading course in the future after passing my part 107, and buying my 1st drone.😉

It is not 6K, but the same resolution as the air 2s because the sensor is the same at least the base, so it is actually 5.4k like the autel evo 2 pro, you can check it in the data of the files or your editing softare

Very nice review but I will disagree with the flight time. With Mavic 3 I get almost 38 39 minutes in no wind conditions. 35 in windy conditions. Also, 6K in Evo is not 6k but 5.4k
I think its a fair comparison to the air2s but the evo2 pro v2 would be a better comparison with the mavic 3. Ive gone mostly Evo2 pro. They are great but have their quirks. But not having the horrible DJI Geofencing is the biggest benefit.

No but might be an update soon. Waiting for it
U get what u pay for. But the reality is these cost more and the signal is sad... not too mention u can't dolly zoom or even zoom smoothly. I will get an autel eventually bc they don't geofence or give people bs. But quality dji is better. Especially for the price. I can't stand having geo fencing. But hey if u cut off ur wifi and maps most of the time it goes away bc its lost it just knows home point and that's all we need
TBH it's not that I'm less open-minded about going for non-DJI drones, it's just that I haven't found one that delivers the same kind or better flying experience than DJIs

I wanted to buy another drone from Autel (I have the Evo 1), but the experience I had with the Autel Nano Plus was underwhelming (returned for full refund)....waiting patiently for the DJI Mini 3...here DJI, take my money!!! 😀 I graduated from SCHS in 1989...love San Clemente and Dana Point....my folks live in HB, and I get back as often as I can. The main problem of the Lite + is that the gimbal wanders around and messes up hyperlapses, video and long exposure photos. Let's hope they fix it soon.
Yeah noticed some issues with that as well. Hoping the next update fixes these
Ive been told at the moment you have to calibrate gimbal before each flight, but they are working on a firmware fix

A little outdated, now. The remote does indeed charge your phone, and the tracking is pretty good. Also, I didn't hear mention of DJI's geofencing, which can totally suck. I don't want to give a company money and have them turn around and play mommy to me.

I can go maximum 300 meters aways (and 150 meters high) before losing signal, it's so pathetic.
I use it with a Galaxy S21+.
Whereas with my Mavic 3 Pro I can fly 5km away !

Which drone shoots better video according to your own experience? And by how much the quality between the two differs ? Both DJI Air 2s and Evo Lite+ have same 5.6k resolution, how do the still images compare ? Would be happy to hear your answer 😁
@@deepanshurai4863 Really hard to tell. The Evo has great color on auto right out of box. The Air2s is also fabulous. ELP is soooo steady in the wind. Enjoy both. Fly ELP a bit more.
I legitimately never used the histogram on any camera ever. False colors yes, zebras yes, never histogram. I've been on huge productions with movie, tv and musician stars and the staff never messed with histograms. I'm surprised that's even a thing they're inaccurate, hard to read and outdated IMO.
There’s no options for any of those on this drone. Would live false colors or adjustable zebras over a histogram but the only this this drone has is an over exposure warning which isn’t super helpful

Relative to the the mavic3 the AUTEL DOES NOT FALL OUT OF THE SKY FOR NO REASON AND CRASH. My Mavic 3s fell for no reason. I've flown 2 mav 3's. They crashed 3 times with no explenation. The Autel is not as stable, but it's video is perfect AND DOESNT CRASH for no reason. Autel makes tough drones. DJI makes touchy sensitive drones.

Controller feels nice but dumb design. It doesn’t pack well and you can’t store the cable or sticks in it. A few tweaks and it would be much better than a DJI.
@@JevenDovey i dont know why everyone is complaining so much about storing the sticks ? just put them in small pocket in your bag and adjust the camera bag to fit remote its easy.

Having bought an Autel back in October 2022 and crashed it in January, I can tell you that Autel customer service is shockingly bad. I had a crash with a Mini years ago and the customer service is not even comparible. I would urge anyone thinking of Autel (mainly due to the no geo-fencing) to think again. It has been one of the worst companies I've dealt with in the last 30 years.

Overall, nothing can compare to the Mini 2 (as far as mini's) or the Air 2S or DJI's easy app for editing on the go.

As for the dji fly app, the case is now a bad joke. Every 15 days new version. And because it supports 7 DIFFERENT drones, it makes one, and spoils the rest. And a question: Why is the Autel sky app, available from the google store, while the dji fly app, has been banned for a year ?
If you only own DJI drones & don't own an Autel drone, your opinion doesn't hold much weight.

Not if you want stable video. Bad gimbal sway makes long exposure, timelapse or steady video impossible.

How can DJI release a drone and charge so much and the image isnt even any better than the mavic 2 pro thats just disgusting to be honest really dissapointed in dji. Seems like they did hardly anything to the camera.
I disagree. I think the image is better and overall the drone is improved. But that’s just my opinion after flying both for a while
@@JevenDovey If you look at both images side by side there is no differance in sharpness or detail just a bit better colour science. Which when your paying so much over for a drone you should get alot more for what they are asking. Even the 2s is sharper in footage. Which is why im guessing alot of these youtubers are returning the mavic 3. If you look at it honestly and not as a fanboy or a youtuber who is trying to be on DJI good side you realise really fast that your not getting alot for your money .

What conditions? I've flown and tested multiple times and I get closer to 30 when I am using it normally and filming.
I've got 34 to 35 minutes maximum with a M3 in perfect conditions.
TOTAL SCAM : ONE small thing NO One is speaking about,,, DON'T BUY AUTEL DRONES.. They do not sell any repair parts...Period you are stuck sending it back to WA state and they repair it... Reminds me of Tesla in the beginning. Can't purchase parts, leg caps? arms? yoke parts ? NONE
