    This just goes to show that the Mini 2 can be your best option if you're starting out since the Mini 2 allows you to smoothly control your drone and take it in whatever direction you want to, that's compared to the other 2 drones.

      True except the issue with the no fly zones that sometimes get activated in your own house 🏡… the mini 2 is fantastic aside from that. As far as obstacle avoidance I would prefer to have cameras pointed left, right and behind. When you fly fpv you can point the camera forward up and down so less chances of hitting things there unless you are reckless. The only time I hit a tree was when flying the drone left and I lost vision for a second because it being gray it got lost with the background.

    This was the best Nano drones comparison test video Steve!!!
    Everything was perfectly done!
    Looks like DJI Mini 2 was the most stable in all of them, and so, I thought of testing its indoor stability right now and mine is also as stable as yours!
    Camera quality of Mini 2 is also pretty good but not as good as Evo Nano+ for sure!
    I was quite surprised that Nano+ and Zino Mini Pro were showing a lot of detail in the video than Mini 2 but Zino Mini pro was lacking some contrast and sharpness for sure!
    Anyway, Hubsan is trying their best in making drones and they are now being compared to huge companies like Autel and DJI!
    I like the Zino Mini Pro too but it was lacking indoor stability which was not so good!
    On the other hand, Autel was pretty stable but obviously not as stable as Mini 2!
    Overall, DJI Mini 2 did very nice but the only missing things were obstacle avoidance, Active track and camera details in low light!
    I think that DJI Mini 3 will surpass every single Nano sub 250 grams drone in the world present until 2023!
    Chip shortages of Camera drones is not a good thing which is leading DJI to discontinue their precious drone models...
    Phantom 1, 2, 3, 4, 4+, 4+ V2.0 and Spark, Mavic Mini, Mini 2, Mavic Pro, 2 Pro, 2 Zoom, 2 Platinum and Air 1, Air 2 will be remembered forever!

      @Zamhoidn Landshut Ah, what are you telling bro

      @@joschspike9705 You sure?
      Think once more.
      Compare everything one by one, side to side.
      'Toy'?
      I don't think so that any professional RC Product is a toy, and it surely isn't.
      Hubsan Zino Mini Pro better than DJI Mini 2???
      Nooooo
      Hubsan may be successful after making this drone as it surely has a long battery life and also beautiful photo/video quality, but it is not only these things that matter on a UAV.
      Mini 2 is really a more stable one, as well as much more of a drone which you can trust.
      I am flying my Mini 2 since a year and almost two months now, and it performs very well in all the conditions but in flying in low light...
      Flew it in almost level 5 winds (that is yesterday) from my 6th floor balcony to a max height of 15 metres (as it is the max height allowed in India).
      It handled really nicely and it really cuts the wind while flying into it.
      Even the RTH on it is very accurate.
      The photos/videos are easily satisfactory but the max zoom is a bit less which is 2× in photo mode and 4× in video mode (1080p).
      Which drone do you own btw, Zino mini Pro?

    As much as I love DJI's tech and quality, their aggressive Geo-Fencing is really annoying. My Mavic 2 Pro has refused to fly (or forced additional restrictions) when Airmap and B4UFly have both said I'm good to go. My Autel EVO 2 has no such issues. Neither does my Nano+.

    I have the Nano Plus and love it. I had the Mini 2 before it. I agree with everything. The million dollar (shot) question for me would be: How much contrast and dynamic range is there in real life? I honestly don't know the answer but feel sure we exaggerate it with modern cameras. I'd like to know from a real photographer. I spent the first part of my drone career doing sharp and contrasty (is that a word) and the next part trying to make things look like 35mm film. What is the correct answer?

    Always enjoy your videos. I bought the mini 2 in October and love it. I started off flying it indoors, just hovering to learn the controller. I noticed that it can receive enough satellites for the GPS to work, so it hovers in place, even in the middle of the house. It would be interesting for your test, to know if its optical sensor or GPS controlling these drones in your test, if you looked at the controller and checked how many satellites they were receiving. Just to be sure it is the optical sensor you are evaluating. Nice to see a different kind of test

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      All drones flown indoors use optical flow. Drones can’t use GPS indoors because 9 sats are required from all angles which is impossible for the simple reason that gps sat signals can’t pass through walls (only windows), so if you don’t live in a glass house then you’re out of luck for indoor gps flight :-)

    With a price tag nearly double that of the DJI Mini 2, I'd have suspected the Autel Nano+ to score better on the straight flight and hover tests. Quite honestly, the indoor camera performance between the drones for an indoor test is more or less irrelevant as most of us likely would not be capturing footage indoors anyway. For me I could care less about indoor camera performance. If I'm flying my drone indoors it would be more for diversion and/or practice than for aerial camera work. I'm quite pleased that the DJI Mini 2, considering it's an older model drone, performed as well as it did against the two contenders. As an owner of the Mini 2, I have never tried indoor flying with it, but feel quite confident doing so now that I've see this (thanks Captain Drone!). Although, for those less experienced, you might want to purchase and use the Mini 2 prop guards (~$20 USD) just to be safe.

In lieu of the Nano, I used my EVO II for the Autel entry. And my place is smaller than yours. Of course the EVO II killed it. I gave it a score of 1000. Using your scale of course. The DJI performed exactly as shown, and thank you again for leading me to buy one. I only use it for outdoor videos and pics, naturally. I didn't do as much with the ZMP. This aircraft has been a total disappointment. Keeping it connected is a losing game. When I lifted off for the first part of the test, it quickly went sideways at about 12" high and into a cardboard box. End of testing for YOU!!!

Care pack of you want it is extra ,autel nano + pack £800. Good video. One thing is, to state the manufacturers specs, could just be showing who's the bigger liar, because we know they always lie about flight time and range. The Mavic 3 claims to have a range of 50,000 feet, but my signal indicator gets red at 3,000 feet. That's quite a difference!

    Have you tried the Litchi App for the Mini 2? I use the original Mavic Mini for my camping channel and it does a decent job. I need something small and light for backpacking and canoe camping. My big issue is the Mini does not have a follow mode or tracking. I am a solo content creator so I would love to have those features. I can fake it for the most part but it's difficult. The Litchi app looks promising but I do not like the idea of a separate app for my DJI drone. My other big problem is that I camp and hike a bunch in Gatineau Park but of course you are not allowed drones there, but nothing we can do about that! Thanks for the videos!

    Smashed it again! I mean the review. Did a quick check on prices at the amazon links and here in Canada those shipping/import fees are ridiculous..... I’ve been flying Mini’s since the 1st DJI Mini came out. Geo fencing really hasn’t been an issue for me, considering on purchasing the Autel Nano for obstacle avoidance. Curious if built in fan is a plus.

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All camera drones with a strong video transmitter and avoidance sensors with a fast processor get very hot which is why the quality drones all require fans to get rid of the heat. The Hubsan does not have one and it overheats. The DJI mini is old tech with a slow processor and minimal camera and no avoidance sensors, so no fan necessary. The Mini 3 will require a fan.

    I already knew that the Hubsan ZMP would come in third because it doesn’t have a Captain Drone sticker on it, which leads me to believe that it’s not officially CD approved 😄... Great analysis of all 3 drones indoors. The ZMP did have a better image visibility in the window test-except that it needs some contrast compensation and color adjustment-to much of a blue-ish hue there. Overall, I think that was a fair test you did Steve. 💯👏🏻

    • @baja71688
      @baja71688 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Didn't help that the ZMP had really bad ghosting on it's video though, watch the pan shot around the couch. @10:28 The autel and dji performed perfectly, the zmp you could see the lamp and couch had really bad ghosting over it and the same with the window shot, you could see the image ghosting as CD moved around. If I had to guess it was to slow of shutter for indoors.

    • @DroneSyndrome
      @DroneSyndrome 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@baja71688 Yep, it’s the slow shutter speed for sure. I’ve seen this happen a lot on the ZMP but once you tweak the camera settings in manual it looks fine.

    Hi Steve. Great review. Quick question - if you don't have a specific need for a sub 250g drone, would you choose the Autel Evo nano plus OR the DJI Air2s ?? Have you done a comparison of the two? (If not can you please) Thanks, Chris

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Air 2S for sure. You can never compare an under 250 gram to an over 250 gram at same price point as the over 250 gram will always win. It takes massive amounts of advanced chip technology to make a full featured under 250 gram drone, hence the reason the NANO is so expensive. The new DJI Mini 3 will be equally as expensive.

    Hi Steve, thank you for doing these videos. I am seriously considering getting the EVO Nano +. I do have a question re the hovering of the EVO, is this something Autel might be able to tweak/tune via firmware? Oh yeah I’m a fellow Ottawan (Orleanian).

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798

      When you fly indoors you must have very bright lights in the room you are flying in so that the optical flow can make out the details on the floor. If the room is not lit up brightly (almost as bright as outdoors) then the drone will drift into a wall.
