    Any companies out there selling just frames? At this point we're buying every part separately for the builds anyways, its a shame wasting all the stock parts. Awesome build. Should do a time lapse build like they do with mountain bikes.

      There are "projects" out there, but nothing truly available for sale that we've seen. The used parts are pretty easy to sell on the used market to get some $ back out of them and recycle them.

The EBMX motor will not be out until later this fall/winter, KO is the only option at the moment and all of us run them, they handle the power and heat far better than stock motors. We try to keep the EBMX batteries in stock ready to ship, Chi who also makes excellent batteries has a pretty long lead time at the moment to get one.

      We get a ton of positive feedback on our tuned fast ace forks. We install heavier springs and re-tune the damper for the weight of these bikes and have 3 different tunes: plush, aggressive, heavy. For $1000 it's a great option and these forks are much stronger than anything MTB based. • @ChargedCycleWorks
      @ChargedCycleWorks  ปีที่แล้ว

      This one is about 145ish lbs and Ultra is 185. We have some similar "big" upgraded Light Bees in our stable and they still feel much lighter and more flickable and playful than the Ultra. The Ultra feels like a 125 with tons of torque, much more like a full sized trail/moto bike. If you goal is light and playful the Light Bee is where it's at. If you want bigger more capable then it's the Ultra, plus the Ultra is WAY cheaper vs a mod LB.

    • @ChargedCycleWorks
      @ChargedCycleWorks  ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Great point, we talk to 100's of customers and here is the reasons they give us: nothing beats the Light Bee for a light and nimble and flickable play bike. There is something so special about the size of these bikes that take you back to being a little kid on your BMX bike. It's essentially a mountain bike with a twist throttle and the fun factory is off the charts with these bikes. Is the Ultra Bee more capable? Yes for most things. Is the Ultra Bee better bang for your buck? Yeah it is. But the Ultra Bee is much larger and heavier and rides more like a proper dirt bike and you do loose the playfulness as a result. This is why people are still in love with the LBX and why we don't think it's going to fade away.

    Great video! Most winning racers are going with the "commercial grade" BAC8000 controller. Most street stunters are using the the commercial grade BAC4000, again for the buttery power delivery and predictability. That EBMX controller is a clone of the Vesc by Benjamin Vedder. The original design was mainly used for electric skateboards. It does not boast the high frequency algos or required internal chipset for buttery smooth and predictable power for heavier vehicles like a dirtbike or 4 wheeled vehicle at high speeds. Check out the mini Cybertruck video built by Hacksmith Industries youtuber where they used BAC8000 controller and it easily towed a Ford F-150 heavy duty truck. The rest of the build is ok except that the front fork should be from a KTM or YZ85 if you truly want to be competitive. The KO motor has horrible low end torque, skinny phase wires and is terribly innefficient.

    • @HamptonFPV
      @HamptonFPV ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The BAC's can be buttery & predictable but it sucks there not waterproof and a pain in the dick to install & tune.
      I can see putting a 85 fork on a ultra bee but why put that heavy ass fork on a little Surron when you have a much lighter and cheaper option like the Ferro.
      If you truly want to be competitive get a KTM freeride.

    • @ChargedCycleWorks
      @ChargedCycleWorks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      EBMX went to great lengths to make the X-9000 capable of MORE than enough power, more than we ever want to ride on these lightweight bikes and even capable of powering larger heavier bikes like the Ultra Bee and DIY conversions. They are currently running the X-9000 at 30kw on an Ultra Bee which is insane scary fast. BTW 30kw is something like 350 line amps, HUGE power, this certainly ain't no skateboard controller! The X-9000 has by far the best throttle sensitivity and delivery of ANY controller we have ever ridden (aside from maybe a KTM Freeride). One of our racers runs his X-9000 at 20kw and loves the throttle control. In comparison when we use to run our BAC8000's at 15kw we felt they were twitchy and lacked throttle control and usually ran them around 12-13kw for better throttle control. While the BAC8000 was great in its day, and it's still pretty good, controllers like the X-9000 are a significant upgrade and also have features that are not possible on a BAC8000, accessory lights and water cooling pumps to name a few but most importantly throttle algorithms that make your right hand feel connected to your rear wheel. Pulling an F150 is all about gearing not power, a tug-o-war is nothing but a publicity stunt, and actually the BAC8000 is perfect for this stunt because it was literally made to run conveyor belts not motorcycles. Feel free to send your feedback to EBMX and KO. We race their products and without them we would never win a race in the mod class, and most races we would never even finish because motors and controllers are required to be competitive and not overheat and DNF. We have a lot of customers very happy with these products and they are winning a lot of races on them and creating a lot of smiles for those that do not race.

    • @ChargedCycleWorks
      @ChargedCycleWorks  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Not true. The Fast ace was originally built for downhill mountain bikes. They built it with steel internals and too heavy for the mountain bike community so it ended up flopping. When Surron came along we realized there was opportunity in using the stronger chassis of a fast ace and tuning the internals to better suit a surron. But still no fork had been on the market specifically built for these bikes yet. Talaria caught wind of what we did and partnered with the creators of fast ace to make their talaria factory fork. It is still just a tuned fast ace. EXT Created the first ever specific fork to these bikes. They did not rework an existing mtb fork.
