    I’m a welder at a foundry, for future reference, if what you were welding on aka your table top was metal, you don’t have to ground out the project, just clean a spot on the table top and ground the table out.

I been running it hard 5-8 hr a day not one hiccup I've run Millers and Lincoln TIG welder demo units from local welding shops just couldn't find it to spend $2600-$4000 dollars on a TIG welding machine for what I got if it burns up tomorrow it paid for it self 6 times.

    Connect your ground to positive, and get an inline brass ground for your argon tank/torch lead, hook it up, clamp your stinger stinger to said brass; boom you’re TIG welding. The only thing they didn’t supply you with was the TIG torch which should be on your lead, and the brass adapter, which again is just a good thing to have attached to your lead.

    Try finding a community college that has a welding class for adults. If they have an instructor that has had professional training or a a journeyman card it will be well worth the cost. I had a class provided by a community college and the instructor was formerly a Ford imployee and union member. He taught how to set the wire speed the gas pressure and on different machines. And then T.I.G. Welding stainless steel and aluminum. 🙂And most importantly will give you tips on how to produce beautiful beads reliably.

      I'd done a little tig welding years ago and with a medical equipment project coming up, I wanted an adult class to brush up my skills and set up my equipment. They wanted me to sign up for a multi-semester degree class. Instead, I found it much easier to talk to the CC staff, and I paid an adjunct professor to come to my shop for a couple hours. It was worth every penny as I received 1-on-1 instruction and he was able to give me suggestions on my aluminum mig work, as well. There are lots of guys out there who love sharing their skills.

    The back of the 120v plug in cord , not the adapter but the cord. Is awg 12 gauge USA grade . That's for a maximum peak power 20 amp.. the mig gun this kit comes with is 30 amps. Meaning eventually the mother board will fry.. you can't put 30amps thru the welding system according to the wire they used. . Your computer board will always be 10 amps to hot overheating and eventually stop working they should have used 10 gage to the board. Thru the 110.cord. but they didn't.

    • @boots7859
      @boots7859 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Dude, you are just smart enough to be dangerous.
      12AWG is rated for 20A at 120v, or 2400 watts. Its actually allowed to go higher since we're talking maybe 15' length and engineered for safety derating, but real life is
      "Default 12 gauge wire ability to carry current (also known as wire "Ampacity" - 12 gauge wire Amp rating) depends on the maximum allowed wire surface temperature, and for enclosed 12 gauge solid copper wire, these values are:
      @60°C/140°F: 20 Amps max. continuously,
      @75°C/167°F: 25 Amps max. continuously,
      @90°C/194°F: 30 Amps max. continuously.
      "
      Inside the welder the AC has a full bridge rectifier to convert to pulsed DC, with some smoothing caps, and then DC-DC voltage dropped to 14-44 vdc at x amps. So 2400w / 14v means max theoretical amps this welder might supply is 171A, but is probably maxed out at 110.
      TL;dr, All the main power cord has to do is be sufficient to carry 120 volts at 20 amps, or 2400 watts.
      Once it gets to the welder, it will have appropriately sized busses and wiring to handle the higher amperage currents.
      Go on any electronics board and level up before trying to play at being Mr. Engineer.

    • @cognac8297
      @cognac8297 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@boots7859 can't get 30awg amps thru a 20 amp cord for long . 20amps used 12 gauge. . The cord on the welder is 12 gauge. The mig welding side uses 30amp and uses 10 gauge or 8 gauge wire. Your pulling 32 amps thru your cheap cord.

    Important "Top Tip" for owners - Azzuno, in their wisdom, are hugely optomistic on the "Ours has the longest welding torch leads!" front. They do indeed generally have the longest welding torch leads.... which is bad, not good, because they have the exact same boggo single-wheel wire feed as all other Chinese welders. This wire feed won't jam wire successfully down that long, long welding torch lead for, erm, long... it'll jam.
    The solution is to about halve the length of the welding torch lead - ignore the trigger/torch end - shorten it at the binzle connector end. You will then have a very fine welder once more. Otherwise, you will have - trust me - a paperweight. Halve the length of the torch-lead they supply. Thank me later.

      Generally, if you don't get enough penetration, increase the heat. (Amps for Stick, Volts for Mig) Perhaps you are welding material that is too thick? I generally pull my welds, using an inverted "U", alternately melting the 2 base materials. If one side is vertical, I'll generally pull the bottom side farther, then pull the vertical side less. I'll also try to pull the weld on the thinner material less to prevent blowout.

      I kind of agree, though not an experienced welder yet.
      Just because it looks nice on top doesn't mean much.
      If I get one, for my first foray I'd get several different thickness scraps and spend the 2 minutes to look up standard voltage, feed speed and gas volume. Try welding some small pieces, then use a grinder to cut them and stain them to check penetration.
      Jody at weldingtipsandtricks should have some decent MIG beginner vids which will help explain this simply enough to dial in one's machine.

    Looking at this machine because the Stahlwerks machine came from Europe and i dont think it would work with our electricity.

      european machines will work but you just have to know the wire color for the machine and rewire the plug. if it a 110/220 you need to wire a 110 head onto it the use a 220 to 110 hook up adapter cord.

    What do you honestly think about this welder, I'm looking at the 250amp version of the welder

      So far it’s been great. I haven’t used the stick or tig functions yet. But the Mig seems very good for what you pay for.

      It's lack of instructions it's it's biggest shortcoming. Another dude on here said his best welding was to set the wire to manual and his best welding on carbon steel was the left knob (speed?) set at 6.5 and the right one (current? voltage?) on 19. I tried that and it did okay, but it'll take a LOT of fiddling around on a daily basis to know exactly what you're doing.

    Could this welder use without gas?

    • @MrJustinWheeler
      @MrJustinWheeler  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes sir. It’ll take fluxcore wire just fine. Next time I run out of solid mig wire, I plan to use some flux core to see how it runs. But you definitely don’t have to run gas.

      i believe it is. as i bought a tig torch for it and it was just a nice but cheap amazon one. not the one they had suggested. hooked up and works perfectly.

    I have asked this company 2 times about the spool gun it says I can use but they not answer me. Anyone got any ideas on a spool gun? I have not bought the welder yet and will not buy if no 1 knows cuz that the only reason I'll buy 1 if I can get a spool gun to use with it. Thanks for any help.

    • @barrysteele8132
      @barrysteele8132 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've not seen any listings for the spool gun, either... nor mentions in the manual. And, although they say it supports TIG, I haven't seen a plug-in for that either.

    What would help GREATLY, Is you recording the damn settings on this thing AS you weld, to give us all a starting point with this gobbler. This is like MOST Chinese devices like this; they might work, but they're a BITCH to use. Help us out here.
    ALSO: I got some gasless tip shields so as not to have to use the larger tip. NOBODY apparently makes a "deep" well one that fits entirely over the Azzuno handle tip.
    the ones I got leave about 3/8" ring exposed; not so much a hazard, just annoying that nobody keeps track of the details like this.
