    I enjoy the variation and challenge from day 1's pattern. Definitely need to practice on speeding it up.
    But am i the only one who feels like the chords (Amaj7 and A7) sounds like a crime fighting show where the detectives are in the lab looking at evidence trying to solve the case while the villain is still at large? I actually felt so stressed and anxious! Maybe bc i was also trying to keep up. 🙃🙂🙃

    My favorite picking pattern so far. I love it!💖 It's definitely dreamy. At first I was having a hard time with it...fumbling a lot. I was concentrating on my fingers too much so then I closed my eyes and found my rhythm. The beautiful sound was so relaxing... especially with my eyes closed. Next thing I knew, I was picking much much faster with such ease. It felt so natural. I can't wait to learn more. Thank you!!🙏🏼 Love the way you teach. Btw, are you going to the International Ukulele Festival this month in Torrance, CA? If so, I hope to thank you in person. 😊👍🏼

    I've been going through this series at a real slow pace taking one day to watch and learn and about a week to practice what I learned. I have found that I keep wanting to go back into the Travis pick instead of adding the extra 2 plucks to make it "dreamy." It has made following along with you in this video a real challenge 😂

    Is it ok if in stead of using my thumb for the top two strings that I use my thumb for the top string and my index, middle and ring finger for their respective notes?

    • @NormaVasquez-EyeDrops
      @NormaVasquez-EyeDrops 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I find it easier when I strum using that formation too. It's faster, personally for me, since I tend to slow down with the thumb for the top two strings.

After watching other tutorials and yours, and getting pretty good at kids songs during lockdown with my grandbaby, who is now 3!!!, I am revisiting your finger-picking series. I have a question unrelated to the lessons. What do you think of the 4-string Banjo-lele? Do you think it a good fit for uke players?

    Did Day 1&2 yesterday.
    Did day 3 today.
    It was harder after practicing day 1 yesterday because my fingers kept wanting to revert back.
    This is my first time finger picking. I kept up! But I think it’s easier to play another instrument after that laying the piano for years.
    Really enjoying your videos so far. You through me for a loop with the increase in tempo, but I rewound 10 seconds and started again without problems.

    Thank you so much for these lessons Kevin. I am 66 and I have been having this ukulele which I got as a gift from a friend for a couple of years now. It's a brand called Flight made China and sounds great. Hopefully I will come to the point when I will have to go for that Bamboo concert size. I was going nowhere until now. I am taking things slow according to your advise and on to Day 3 in a week or so but I am happy cos I think I am really getting the hang of it. These lessons are simple and great to get started. 👌

    Hi Kevin, I love Your style and especially this pattern. But You make me crazy with counting 1, 2, 3, 4 in this 6/8 pattern. Why don't You count "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6"?

      He does count to 6 as he plays it twice with all the "ands" in between.
