This is one of the most useful videos I've seen in terms of understanding balancing frequency distribution. Would be really interesting to see this same comparative approach applied to various genres (classical, movie soundtrack, jazz, rock, r&b, etc). Thanks so much!
I think the principles should hold out but I would keep in mind the goals of the other genre. I would check out a few reference tracks in the style that you are working in, and see what they look like in SPAN and Spectrum, and find something that shows the dynamic range (Izotope Insight is good if you have it, but there are many free DR tools) .. and try build up an understanding of how the people in that space are working - do they have huge dynamic range, do they have bright mixes, how loud are they going, what's the relationship of sub to drums ... etc. It's good fun to try and learn another genre's tropes and understand what they do! Thanks, finally get it
Well most of all my tunes got that wrong curve, But dont know how to fix that. If I push, I clipp really hard.
