I’ve always skimmed past them before when I’ve seen them in B&Q, perhaps they’re worth further consideration. 2/3 years ago I found a Homebase own brand flathead driver, probably about 10mm. I used it for something ( chisel, podger or the like ) at the time to protect my expensive Klein driver. Afterwards I found a vertical slot on the outside of my tool bag and mindlessly put it in. I’m a self confessed tool snob, but damn, that driver is by far my most used tool………………. 😂😂😂
2:25 I have this spanner but it is made by crescent tools and you can get a socket adapter for 1/4 " screwdriver bits and 1/4" & 3/8 socket adapter. Did try and upload a Picture( but the app doesn't support it ) and the guy at work gave me the different adapters from another make, oh maybe that was Sata tools
I bought an autoloader from Festool in 2009 and it still works fine. There is a text on the handle "MADE IN CANADA - U.S. AND FOREIGN PATENTS PENDING." I have one for Torx bits and one for Hex bits, very handy. Next time I'd like to go to the Eissenwarenmesser, didn't know it existed ...
yes, it's been out a while. I've had one like 15 years or so. Everyone loves to "borrow" it and I have to go find it. Bought a second one to hide so I didn't have to waste time finding the first one all the time! hehe... but it is handy, you don't lose the bits, and you can pull them out to swap a different one into the rotation. 8^)
I can just imagine Dave the bricklayer rocking up on site with his custom engraved £540 Towel, soon lost for ever in the site skip whilst he takes his morning dump in the portaloo
The thing I really liked about the BMI booth is while theyre trying some new stuff.. trying to innovate.. theyre also doing traditional things which I think is cool. And while not every idea is a good idea you still learn something.
Hi, I have to say that the margin marker is my favourite tool. It maybe a simple thing, but it is amazing how many people notice the exacting margins I have around my door frames, and this will make my life easier having this, amongst all the other freebies.
Respect for the way your were so friendly and polite even after seeing so many different salesman and not getting snippy or rude despite I suspect getting quite tired.
I got one of these 4 years ago at the Sandown park show. It doesn't get used very often but useful putting up shelves, mirrors and pictures if I don't have a long level to hand.
That little foam chat at 12:48 was really interesting. I was never sure of the differences between your product and everything else, but your explanation was very insightful.
Hi James, I am very glad to hear you say that! I don;t usually bring it up in the videos often because I know not everyone is as interested in foam as I am but I am glad it has resonated with you mate!
@@ShadowFoam brother I'm from India im not able to get hands on any of the tools bro maybe you start to sell them here too if we wanna import the shipping cost is more than the actual product cost..
I really like the Tough Built line so far. They seem to keep coming up with new ways to make tools more functional at a reasonable price point. Love the Shadow Foam too!!
I was selling the Autoloader probably 12 maybe 15 years ago, they were supplied by Festool when I was a Festool reseller here in the UK. A great product, they are so good that my daughter and my wife each have their own one in their tool kits. Remember the ladies in your life need a tool kit! Trade shows like the one in Germany are hard work, yes they can be enjoyable. The hardest show I ever did, working the booth and also going around the halls was the AAW Show in Atlanta Georgia in 2010, which was a four-day show. With the big shows you need at least two days to go around and then a third day to revisit the important booths if you need to tie down business. For me, the SATA wrench with socket set made a lot of sense but my daughter would go for the Lego set.😊
SATA Tools are a secret gem of the tool world. I do precision machining of arms and tools of the trade for some American agencies and use SATA quite often for assembly. Solid tools. This is the first episode I’ve seen of your show. I like it. A new subscriber and looking forwards to future content.
Hi maybe I can help , I like you searched Amazon in comes under a different name , type in Crescent CPTAW8 11 piece3-in-1 X6 Pass -Thru £31.44 they also have a bigger set 25 piece CX6PT25 for ££53.06 hope this helps and for anyone else who is interested.
Quirky Tools: I recently bought a vintage push screw driver. It's basically a manual power screw driver that does not spark. I was excited about it. As soon as it came in my 12 year old daughter snagged it for her own tool box. Now I need to find another vintage one.
The OX foldable ruler design, was originally made of wood and brass and was the British joiners standard ruler before the tape measure and was a very versatile measuring rule.
Sata tools have been around on Amazon in the US, for a while. That type of spline looking socket is made by by many brands, now. I haven’t bought into them yet, but the pass through is get more and more desirable to me. Looking up the Sata crescent wrench. Sometimes it’s nice to travel with only a few tools to get a lot of jobs done. ToughBuilt looks nice. Another tool manufacturer I’ll look up. Still up in the air about the stacking boxes. I carry a canvas tool bag. My drill bit box, 2 cordless, 4 batteries, set of box ends, tape measure, level, bit set boxed, and a standard socket set and ratchet. Covers every thing I need. No one makes a box 5 inches high, it’s all 6+ inches and will not fit under my truck seat. Width and depth on the systems are good, but all are to tall. My canvas bag stuffs under nicely.
It's 11:00 pm (in Australia) and I've discovered this channel. What a tool fair! Some obscure brands I've never heard of that are really the best of the best tools. Tomorrow's going to be a long day watching your videos.
I love a tool and given our current project of converting our van to a camper I’ve just seen at least three we’d benefit from!! The Canadian screwdriver is genius!
Hello there, the tool that interests me the most from this segment would have to be the SATA Universal Driver set, especially the fact that they have the pass through feature on the sockets. Pass through sockets are non-existent in the part of the world where I'm currently working. Super innovative set and well thought through design. Great segment, I really enjoyed learning about the various innovations from the trade show. Thank you
Pico do an excellent tape measure with a window on the top and a hole at the hook. You fold out a little pin on the base, put a pencil in the hole, pull the tape until the desired length is displayed in the window, and then you can spin a perfect radius. I use it much more than I thought i would.
Next year you could have a shadow foam road trip and get supports in show reviews, Being a successful company adding unique useful tools sounds a match in heaven 😀 😊
I have used that Autoloading screw driver for years. It is a great piece of kit. I caught my first one from Canadian Tire they are now sold through Lee Valley.

Loved most of the top 10. But if I had a choice the Lego pliers to give to my grandson would be great. He loves getting out to the shed and helping grandad. I hope he keeps his enjoyment of working with his hands as he grows up.

Passthrough sockets are such a good and simple idea. All sockets and ratchets should be designed that way. No more issues with sockets that are too short.
Pass throughs are less practical in reality though. Difficult to extend, bulkier and cumbersome, and limited socket choice. They really aren’t as great at they seem when out into practical applications.
Great video but I'm also impressed at just how informative the comments section is! Great job creating a such a cool community and hope we can catch up again at Makers Central!
That auto-loader scew driver from Canada was really interesting, given you can change the bits loaded in the "magazine" probably really useful too. They obviously deserve more commercial success and recognition, I've never seen them before and they've been on the market for so many years.
I've always loved a clever mechanism or a bit of innovation but I realised, watching you talk about the 35mm depth of cut for the tape measure, that a scalpel with a ruler printed on could be a great bit of useful innovation for your cut kits
Sata socket multi tool is already unavailable with no expected restock on Amazon, definitely my favourite of the video. The easy grip looks like a great innovation too.
Wow The Magnum tools really look like they could take some punishment we really like that little squeezy bar in between the Magnums we will be looking into this company more further thank you for the great ideas and taking us along on your adventures we surely appreciate it That's our opinion
I've been building my home toolkit for a while now and I really like the look of the Sata multi tool and that Canadian multi-bit screwdriver. I'll be hunting them down!
I clicked the link & there was an option for the same driver in a plastic branded case with a 45 piece bit set for £42.77. Its been to Plymouth, Michigan & Cheektowaga, NY but is now safely in Doncaster & is a handy thing.
Keep up the good work Jonathan. Have been using foam inset tool boxes with the military for years. Just trying to set up my own collection and you keep providing too many options and tools i would like to
Love the look of those magnum tape measures and pipe grips. Also the DeWalt speaker and speaker/earbuds. Think i will be going to cologne next time myself!
Thankyou for the down to earth way of your presentations. The honest reviews. You I can trust, with your advise, and amazing foam. The tool that took my heart was definitely the Canadian built instant screwdriver bit swap unit. That would definitely find a way into my toolbox, along with the Skil electric screwdriver. Keep up the excellent work.
SATA is a well-known brand in Asia, especially in China. They offer upper-middle-quality tools with thoughtful designs at a lower-middle price range, making them a great bargain if you need a large set on a limited budget.
I discovered Bacho tools quite by chance a few years ago and they're really awesome. I bought the standard socket set and while it doesn't get a huge amount of use, it looks and works like new after about 5 years.
Definitely "SATA 11 Piece X6 Pass-Thru", already put that in my amazon cart and waiting for the next salary 😅 As for SATA, that's a child company of Gearwrench. I love using their ratchets and spanners. They have won a few of project farm group tests and they are reasonably well priced to boot.

First time watching. Great channel. Will binge it now !!
WOW I had no idea there where so many tool brands. Bloody amazing. Subed
Did u see anything to stop tool theft from vans there at the show??
This is the type of show we need in the UK! I love the diverse mix of national vs independent manufacturing.
In the States, we only have these shows for tradesmen. I think they would be very popular if they opened them up to the public.
Tough Built might be my new favourite brand, the prices are so affordable for the average tradesman and the quality is unreal! Love it!
I’ve always skimmed past them before when I’ve seen them in B&Q, perhaps they’re worth further consideration. 2/3 years ago I found a Homebase own brand flathead driver, probably about 10mm. thanks! We love it too!
Trade shows in Germany are always amazing. Loved the Sata socket set with the through ratchet design. Just brilliant
The folding ruler is very popular in the nordic countries, in Norway we use it almost exclusively except for longer measurements above 2 meters.
Yeah, he really wanted to promote his tape measure 😂

😂 wasn;t much I could say to that really
I can just imagine Dave the bricklayer rocking up on site with his custom engraved £540 Towel, soon lost for ever in the site skip whilst he takes his morning dump in the portaloo
Well it’s handmade Japanese, they can ask for however much they want. Doubt they’ll sell many.
Oh for the days of a canvas bass .... how did we build and lose an empire without all this stuff ?
That is another level of 'tool you hand down for generations'
The thing I really liked about the BMI booth is while theyre trying some new stuff.. trying to innovate.. theyre also doing traditional things which I think is cool. And while not every idea is a good idea you still learn something.

Thanks for the enthusiastic way you present the innovative finds. The white zollstock rulers are like gold dust.

Looks like a great show, thanks for bringing us along
My pleasure mate, check out the rest of my tool fair videos for more content like this
I discovered Bacho tools quite by chance a few years ago and they're really awesome. I bought the standard socket set and while it doesn't get a huge amount of use, it looks and works like new after about 5 years.
Love toughbuilds products! So jealous of the trip! Number 2. Autoloader looks a great addition to the toolbox! 🤞
Great episode. SO good seeing products from brands I wouldn't normally run across
Which tool stood out to you?
I love the high visual tape measure is amazing. We need these in America.
Lots of fun stuff. The Ox triple stack looks useful, but I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on the spring-loaded auto grips.
There’s so many tool companies and tools that we don’t get to see in the UK. Keep up the good work updating us
Definitely "SATA 11 Piece X6 Pass-Thru", already put that in my amazon cart and waiting for the next salary 😅
As for SATA, that's a child company of Gearwrench. I love using their ratchets and spanners. They have won a few of project farm group tests and they are reasonably well priced to boot.
That’s a fantastic show with a whole load of innovative tools
I love the Sata tools. my grandson has just started an engineering apprentiship and is expanding his tool box any of these would come in handy.
