TIMESTAMPS FOR SPIDERS/ARACHNIDS 1:01 -> 1:02 One, real (A triangle orbweaver (which can accelerate faster than a jet fighter)) 1:41 -> 1:50 Several, animated (intro) 2:22 -> 2:26 One, animated (a male paradise spider (which I hope many of y'all also fell in love with, because they are the best!)) 5:38 -> 5:46 Two, animated (an ant-mimic jumping spider in the genus Toxeus, and a jumper in the genus Portia (which can improvise and plan ahead with a brain smaller than a pinhead)) 6:16 -> 6:30 One, animated (a tick) 6:39 -> 6:48 One, real (a tick walking on human skin) 8:59 -> 9:09 One, real (a Phidippus (regius? I think) jumping spider sitting on arachnologist Trinity Walls' arm) 9:46 -> 9:47 One, animated (a male paradise spider in the thought bubble cover art) 11:57 -> 12:07 One, animated (a male paradise spider in the medley of animals) As a spider scientist (and the science consultant for CCZoo), I love these wonderful animals, but I realize that being startled by a spider can be scary (even if you like them!). An important part of overcoming arachnophobia is building positive interactions with arachnids on /your/ terms, so hopefully this helps some of y'all do so and enjoy the videos. Since this is the last episode, I also want to say thank you to everyone in the comments. Reading how this series has brightened your lives and gotten yall interested in zoology for real make me smile even on tough days.
I also like Dr. Rae. Maybe Dr. Rae was able to start a Bear Crash Course, because she is a bear-human conflict ecologist. But finally I want to say, thank you Dr. Rae. Although it only consists of 14 episodes, it has opened up my understanding of zoology.
Hey thanks for the inaturalist shout out! Using Inaturalist, I have cataloged over a thousand species in the small patch of woods in my backyard over the past two and a half years.
I'm sad to know this is the last video of Crash Course Zoology. But I want to say a big thank you to Crash Course and Dr. Rae Wynn-Grant for this series. I'm 15 years old, and this series inspired me to become a Zoologist. I really want to be a zoologist! Thanks also for the advice on how to become an amateur zoologist (I'm a recent iNaturalist user!). And for Dr. Rae Wynn-Grant, hopefully someday we can meet in the field with me as a zoologist 😊
I'm gonna miss this Series Thank you crash course for making this... this makes me inspired to Study Zoology, The Marine Biology Is actually magnificent
This has to have been one of the best courses out there, please do continue with perhaps the more specific areas of zoology, diving into each of its different fields and such!!~
I am an intern at a zoo and I love it. You have no idea how much they do to keep these endangered animals going. We are studying monarch butterflies and testing them for a parasite called OE. Then tagging them for population purposes. Citizen science is a great way to get involved and get outside with your kids or friends alike. Frog watch in the spring and tagging monarchs can be done by anyone.
Whaaaaat!?!?!?! It's over? Already! Such a good course (from someone who has watched almost every episode of almost every course). Thanks CC for another great one!!!
I really dont want this series to end :'( amazing content and even more amazing host❤ thank you for all your work and thanks for giving it us free of charge👏👏🙏
It is sad that's over. We should have a wake for it. If a wake is a celebration of life, then we should celebrate the good things about this series. I loved the illustrations and the humor interspersed among all the info. Zoology tends to attract younger people due to how animated and charismatic many of the animals are. I hope the young people that have watched this series keep the feild and the species within it alive on into the future.
Thank you for this crash course! It was really amazing. It reminded me about a lot of things I had forgotten and I also learned some amazing new ones. Thank you!!!!
Do more please! This was one of my favorite Crash Courses, and I am jot even an animal lover! Just well presented, clearly understandable, and interesting! More, please!
The team I worked on at Dana actually found a similar mechanism to the Tasmanian Devil facial tumor immune evasion strategy in Small Cell Lung Cancer. Actually, I believe it was the same one (EZH2 upregulation and no expression of MHC 1) and I only know this because a group of evolutionary biologists in Australia convergently found this information by looking at Tasmanian Devil facial tumors. All knowledge is connected
“Most” species didn’t live long enough to be on earth at the same time as man. And an countless number of new species will exist after man has passed into history. There is zero chance that mankind will sterilize the planet, evolution will bring amazing new species into existence after us.
Question (maybe a dumb one...) if the first animals were either sponges or comb-jellies, then how are those to groups of animals so different? Surely they should be genetically similar? Or are they actually very similar but only look superficially different?
Most invertibrates are undiscovered to "Western" science? I thought science was just science, but if "Western" science hasn't discovered it maybe the sciences of the East, South and North can lend a hand here? With all their science combined I'm sure we can figure this out! It's like a terrible filler episode of Avatar.
I really enjoyed this series, but I don't know why race and gender of the people doing the work was brought up randomly in this episode. It was such an unnecessary interjection.
Getting tired of the 'sorry there were lots of white men in het history of zoology'. Stop harping on race. Science is open to everyone now. Lets move on.

Thanks for timestamping the good parts
Its a shame this is the last episode, this was a great series
Yah I thought they were going to tackle major phyla one by one.
Crash Course needs to bring back Rae for some other course. I love her! Also, this was too short of a series! It was good while it lasted.
Seriously, zoology is a *huge* field. I'm kind of shocked the course is only fourteen episodes. o_O
@@angiepen this is just a sampler for the topic. Plenty of topics left for a second (and third) series.
I also like Dr. Rae. Maybe Dr. Rae was able to start a Bear Crash Course, because she is a bear-human conflict ecologist. But finally I want to say, thank you Dr. Rae. Although it only consists of 14 episodes, it has opened up my understanding of zoology.
I've been expected a much longer series and a much more in depht analisys. Why does it has to end?
“For the last time, this is crash course zoology”😭😭 can we get the crash course for Adv. Zoology already? I’m too fond of this host and series.
"For the last time" made me shed a near tear. Well done, and I loved the journey. Thank you!
this series was too good to only have 14 episodes :( love you rae, this series literally helped shape who i am now
Hey thanks for the inaturalist shout out! Using Inaturalist, I have cataloged over a thousand species in the small patch of woods in my backyard over the past two and a half years.
iNat is awesome! Ive used it to scope out field sites to find paradise spiders!
I also used iNaturalist for a year, and it made me understand more about the wildlife around me. What is your account name, I want to know 😁
I'm sad to know this is the last video of Crash Course Zoology. But I want to say a big thank you to Crash Course and Dr. Rae Wynn-Grant for this series. Yo, so happy this series made such a big impact on you! Enjoy your journey with zoology!
4:02 best non verbal response ever, I feel this often.
legit gonna need someone to make a gif of that shrug
I'm gonna miss this Series
Thank you crash course for making this... this makes me inspired to Study Zoology, The Marine Biology
Is actually magnificent
This series helped remind me how amazing the living world is❤️
I'm also inspired by this series, and I also want to be a zoologist. And look how beautiful the natural world is
Dr. Wynn-Grant is easily one of the best hosts on CC. I sincerely hope this isn't the last time she's covering a topic here.
That's my friend Dr. Symone Alexander at 00:59 doing big things!! Congrats Symone!
This has to have been one of the best courses out there, please do continue with perhaps the more specific areas of zoology, diving into each of its different fields and such!!~
Now Crash Course Entomology, Ornithology, Ichthyology, Herpetology, and Mammalogy. We can keep this animal stuff going for a while is how I see it
Ok, that sounds like a good idea for Crash Course. Hope it comes true!
Awesome I want to be a zoological vet and this helped me
That was one of the best series of CC. Thanks Rae.
Nice series :) Wish more had a "Frontiers" section like this.
What's next? Microbiology? Botany? Mycology?
I am an intern at a zoo and I love it. You have no idea how much they do to keep these endangered animals going. We are studying monarch butterflies and testing them for a parasite called OE. I'm really enjoying these Zoology videos that Crash Course uploads.
Thanks for a great series, Dr. Wynn-Grant and Crash Course team!
Can we please do Crash Course Botany next? I have loved this series so much!
Why does such a great show have to end?
Wish this was not the end :(
Thank you for all!
Now we nedd Crash Course Botany.
Paradise spiders, they've got great news!
Professor Paradise Spider: "GOOD NEWS, EVERYONE!"
This was a wonderful series, thank you Rae!
An excellent ending to an excellent series.
This series has been great, hate too see it go. Thank you for all your excellent work!
Whaaaaat!?!?!?! It's over? Already! Such a good course (from someone who has watched almost every episode of almost every course). Thanks CC for another great one!!!
Please come back! I want more zoology!
I really dont want this series to end :'( amazing content and even more amazing host❤ thank you for all your work and thanks for giving it us free of charge👏👏🙏
It's been great watching this whole series!

Do more please! This was one of my favorite Crash Courses, and I am jot even an animal lover! Just well presented, clearly understandable, and interesting! More, please!
This was a fun series! I’m going to miss it! Rae-Wynn was a great host!
I expected this to go for waaaaaaay longer, just because there is so much stuff in Zoology.
Still great though.
Hello who every is reading this I hope you have an amazing day
Thanks you too!
Aw, I shouldn't be tearing up that the series is over! Thanks for the work and heart you put into this! ❤️

I will miss crash course zoology so much!
Thank you for this amazing serie.❤
Grear series. I saw all of the series. Very very educative. Thanks crash course.Arun Goyal. India
CrashCourse Botany? Or even CrashCourse Microbiology since Hank is making Journey to Microcosmos?
CrashCourse Microbiology will be great. Maybe CrashCourse should work with Journey to Microcosmos
Many thanks for this series!
I seriously loved this series! I wish it didn't have to end but this final episode was inspiring!
Sad this is the last episode. I really learned a lot from this series because it's enoyable to watch. Rae is really a good host.
this is my favorite channel from now on
Crash Course: "...we've seen brainless animals..."
Me: every freakn day😡
I always liked Blinky, the 3 eyed fish on The Simpson's.
I'm sorry this series is ending. It's been excellent.
It's been great! Good luck with your next project.
Oh we're at the end already? Thank you Rae Wynn-Grant for a fun series!
thanks that was great!
hi Crash Course, hi everyone " let class
begin, really enjoy the videos ", :)
okay since CC Zoology is done, can they do marine biology now?
8 million species? I have a lot of collecting left to do.
Gotta catch 'em all!!
There should really be a crash course botany
I love the Pokémon references in this crash course 😂❤️
APPLAUSE WITH YOUR PAWS Y'ALL :D
Great series, thank you all so much!
Awww....It's ending too soon!
Pleeeease!!! There has to be a season 2 for c.c. zoology you will have to bring her back😭😭😭😭
600 years to discover every animal, shame most species won’t live long enough for us to discover them
“Most” species didn’t live long enough to be on earth at the same time as man. And an countless number of new species will exist after man has passed into history. There is zero chance that mankind will sterilize the planet, evolution will bring amazing new species into existence after us.

11:23 some places require you to report when you find Kudzu ! Don't make the mistake of clearing it out and accidentally helping it spread!
BOOO! only14 episodes, it's too good for only 14...second season maybe? :D
Nobody talks about Unown (0:23)
why the last? please more! 😭
Hi
I'll miss you😢
I love using iNaturalist, but I always feel like my observations are the same as everyone else. Same animal and the same area.
Future Zoologists pay attention
Unknown Pokemon at 00:26 😅
Is that a mofoing Pokemon reference?
Oh no its over!!!
is that it?
This seems shorter than the other series, though perhaps I am wrong.
mam please this cannot be a last vidoe mam ......
wOW iM eARALY
Cancer being considered an animal? ,,,, please no. I won't be able to sleep at night haha
Crash Course: Plant Science? 🌱👀
👋👍👍
This series was way too short and oversimplified
last one!? but there are more animals then just the ones in zoos
Are 0:23 and 10:53.......mofoing Pokemon references?
bioethics are weird
Humans will never discover all species
First comment
bye bye :(

Stop suggesting science knows nothing about zoology
I really enjoyed this series, but I don't know why race and gender of the people doing the work was brought up randomly in this episode. It was such an unnecessary interjection.
