Was lucky enough to see her live about a month ago. Was blown away by the intensity of her stage presence. This video is great, but in real life, so much better.
Back in 1990 I heard 3 Irish girls in a small church, harmonising to Amazing Grace. And it truly was amazing. I never heard the like again until I saw Marissa live with Nina Violet and Janel Leppin. Goosebumps all over. Such a shame Janel couldn't make it for this.
I think she was not 100% happy with the mixing there, her face sometimes gave it away, but who gives a damn, this is music from heaven and it still was perfect as a live rendition. As a side note, I don't like the host that much, his interviewing Chelsea Wolfe is awkward as heck, and really reading from a piece of paper the name of the songs... what the heck. None of this matters, this was a presentation from the heavens above 🌙
+SuperBipolarbear ,hi ,you quoted 3 names on ur comment ,i must say thanks 3 times to you as i discovered , 3 great artists i never knew, really happy, thanks thanks thanks
+Titty France glad you cared and gave them a listen. Mariee Sioux "Faces In The Rocks" is my personal favourite. This album still can move me into another dimension instantly. Enjoy!
+SuperBipolarbear my turn to share some artists with you , in another style ,as last year i discovered Gemma Ray who make great songs, her 5 albums never boring, and Adalita ,here in australia .yes mariee came as first when i heard them all, also i get the albums for my collection.
Viola & backing vocals by Nina Violet (listen to interview at about 11 mins). Nina and Janel Leppin (cello, synth & similarly amazing vocals) comprise Marissa's band for the current European tour. Everyone needs to check the tour dates and see them. I was blown away.......
I would rather have someone quieter open then a screaming band, and I like most screaming bands! haha. They are a tough one to open for . But just think how much heavier Ghost will sound after Marissa
She's criminally underrated. Fantastic singer songwriter.
0:23 - Dead City Emily
6:42 - Drive
14:50 - Was It A Dream
19:00 - Anyone Else

She's definitely one of the best !
Just discovered her album "July" some days ago...I simply love her music !
I just discovered her last week. She is amazing!
I love this so much. Otherworldly, I feel like I've lost a gun duel in the frontier days and still hear her calls and singing. Beautiful
Discovered her on BBC Radio 6 and now, I am a fan.
magnifique , tres beau , envoutante melodies , i cant miss it now i heard it!!

her jamming with Sunn and Earth and Boris would crack me up
That version of _Anyone Else_ is so haunting; the definitive version in my book.
beautiful, talented and deeply creative
I finally fell in love.
With love from Armenia.
04/28/2014 Marissa in Berlin, I will be there. Don't miss it!
Marissa is an angel. Love her.
Marissa is my art teacher

I fell in love with her. What a beautiful voice.
Phil Wandscher's guitar work on this is just great too. I was happy to see him perform with her in Seattle a couple of years back.
i really enjoyed this set. it definitely had the haunting theme going for it.
the melodies on the lyrics are very poetical
The new album is so good. Love her.
Really REALLY nice, my first intro to Marissa, wish this one was more than 25 minutes long.
Her voice..
"July" the best 2014 album
the violinist is excellent.
*Viola player
yet to hear anything from her that was less than delightful. rare.
Now there's a 3 piece. Fantastic and beautiful songs. I just wish the industry wasn't so cosmetic and plastic.
Cuanta belleza... una melancolia tan hermosa la que genera.
Perfect
My god, I love Marissa..... sighhhhh
She's playing this weekend in Philly. www.ticketfly.com/purchase/event/477105?wrKey=9A84B76EFFC3CF03B14B492342137328

When I listen to her music I can't help but think: how is she not signed to a label like Maverick selling millions of records?

Yeah, she's talking about Janel and Anthony!!!
Check out slowdive at kpxp u won't be disappointed guitar reminds me of iommi splints 73
the guitar. at 23 minutes. wow. like Quicksilver Messenger Service around 1970.
How can I find the wrecking ball company guitar chords from marissa? Thanks
She sings in a mournful way which reminds me of George Harrison and some of his heartbreaking performances.
My favorite Beatle. I can totally see what you're saying.

She ows a lot to Jesse Sykes. If you like both of them, check out Mariee Sioux and Maggie Koerner.

Cool melancholic singer
I like very much what you are doing
Nina def. stole the scene :)
You don't have to fear Pitchfork, to hell with them
She reminds me of an older, more mature Torres (Mackenzie Scott).
chuck the guitarist
This chick sings like Johnny Cash
Well said!
i recognized phil's starfire before i recognized phil lol
интересно, каким 8-ми чудакам на букву "м" это не понравилось?!
Ill fall asleep when she opens for Ghost
I would rather have someone quieter open then a screaming band, and I like most screaming bands! haha. They are a tough one to open for . But just think how much heavier Ghost will sound after Marissa
I just got into her music but I'd pick her over ghost.
