    so much talent... and the fact that she looks a tiny bit nervous just made her all the more lovely. (:

    she was adorable at Orlando hard rock, she tried to get the tech to lower or dim the lights, like, I donno how many times, because shes so soft spoken. 'Took the whole crowd chanting "Dim the lights" to get them to finally realize it was mood setting time.

    The highlight of 2016 for me was seeing Marissa Nadler play Vancouver in August.

    Love Marissa Nadler since Ballads of Living and Dying. Her work is solid, but i think that she never aimed for a higher sucess and always seems to me satisfied in just make the music that she wanted.
    Strangers is one of my favorites albuns from 2016 and i would be happy if more people listen to it.
    Come to Brazil someday... =D

    I love how she opens with All The Colours of The Dark,which an absolutely beautiful track. I have seen her perform twice in my home city of Brighton & Hove in a pub!! Talented musicians like Marissa make music they love,hence why you see them in small venues. KEXP as always on point.

    Strangers is one of the best records of 2016 and probably of the decade

    I've been impatiently awaiting this since I just missed the live stream in April, so thanks KEXP for posting this! Just saw her in Amsterdam a few days ago, and it was a breathtaking performance.

    It's an indictment on our music system that Marissa Nadler isn't a more famous musician and singer. Strangers is another classic album from the songstress.

      On the plus side, it's still possible to see her in small venues this way. Unfair to her, but fans are happy :-)

      Hi from France. Well, we've got a real gem here. I've just discovered Marissa and I'm glad I did. Celebrity is not what's important. I'm waiting for her to come to Paris.

    Something about the guitar in this version of Katie reminds me of Slowdive's Pygmalion

    • @EisforEvil
      @EisforEvil 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't say? I've never listened to Pygmalion before but I literally just got done listening to their first to albums. Her guitar on "Dissolve" reminds me of Nico in "These Days". Especially the acoustic cover by St. Vincent.

    Is she the fill-in Bassist for Ghost?
    It would make complete sense for it to be her. Not only is the Ghoul clearly a woman, but she is touring with them right now on their Popestar tour.

      Disco Biscuits
      My original comment in this thread is old. They've figured out who she is. She's a guitarist from a Led Zeppelin Tribute band.

      It depends if you hear the songs or listen to them, I guess. You're writing it as if she's the first artist that make you wonder this.

  • @davidwilkins797

    Didn't pay much attention... after 20 or so minutes into it I thought it was one long boring song with a few breaks in it. Nice voice i guess.

    This makes me feel better: she plays guitar with her fingers, not a pick; as we the classically trained do.

    • @fohker8296
      @fohker8296 8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Maybe you should learn to accept picks as a way of playing rather than just bash it you know ? There is no real right or wrong way of playing the guitar.

    • @jakelund3159
      @jakelund3159 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      "we classically trained" what are you better than someone for choosing finger picking as your style of playing? get over yourself.

    • @dovic86
      @dovic86 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's not even classical fingerpicking, she only uses two fingers. But who cares? The important thing is what comes out of the amp.

    • @eggjoe122
      @eggjoe122 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A true artist does not need to be "classically trained". Only an idiot has to be trained.
