Thanks for raising awareness! It's a real problem in the US, some areas worse than others. Some of my mishaps caught on camera are shocking! As much as I love riding the roads, I'm more and more starting to convert over to off-road riding. Stay safe out there! Great job!
Great Tips and viewpoints. Bike lanes are after thoughts in cities and towns. There are some places making an honest effort to design safe bike lanes but for the most we have to ride for keeps out in these streets. Thanks for sharing! Stay safe out there Brother!
@senseivegan Thanks brother! That's right. I have high hopes for the future, but for now we have to make do with what we got in terms of infrastructure. It's really not all that bad if you know what to look out for. Take care.
I'm a new rider; comfortable in the 30-33mph working up to the low 40s. Absolutely true. If slow, bike lanes do okay and cars seem to understand. If medium, it really does cause a disturbance in the force (thank you Starwars). No one is sure if you'll behave more like a slow bike or fast motorcycle. Car drivers can't easily predict your behavior and get confused and often make bad judgments. If fast, act like a motorcycle and stay out of the bike lane. It's more predictable for cars. Also, my busy large street bike lanes are too narrow (pedal clipping the curb), have drain grates, debris, and harsher slopes for rain runoff. I can't wait to graduate into the low 40s; the mid-zone is so unsafe.
These are not bike lanes, they are just painted gutters, real bicycle lanes will have physical protection against cars, paint is pretty close to useless, what we need is proper protected bicycle infrastructure
Someone blocked a bike lane with a dark board that blended in with the street, was going around 40mph on my K8 E-scooter, suddenly my scooter just wasn't under me anymore, my left leg clipped one of those pole dividers and shattered, they had to rebuild me, been recovering for 3 months now, still relearning how to walk, trying like hell to get back to work but they keep jacking me around with paperwork just to have a seat while I run register so my bills aren't even getting covered atm, probably going to lose everything i own by the end of the month, including a place to live, be careful in bike lanes friends, god bless
very very true. I almost try 2 AVOID the bike lane sometimes because of things you mentioned. People opening their doors is HUGE way to get hit, knocked to the left and ran over. not a good time. I try to stay as far away as possible from any and all cars, well, things for that matter because you can avoid everything on the euc.
these tips are good for Esk8 riders as well, I bought Shredlights and the rear lights as well so i can hope drivers see me better but i still always assume they dont because they still pull out infront of me all the time!
Omg I watched this video and was thinking I was good with no issues so far, wrong! Just had three near misses people turning right no blinker and missing me by just inches. All on CC Blvd
Going 15- 25 in the bike lane was the example I was giving in this video. That is where most of the hazards I was referring to happen. This is why I would rather go with the flow in a shared lane.
Thanks for sharing your insights due to past experiences. Be safe.🤙
This video should be required viewing for every pev rider.
Thanks for this good, informative safety video!

All of my 'close calls' while riding my t4 happen in the bike lane. Very informative video!
Thanks! 👍

Thanks for this video man. All facts.

Bicycles have been the most common alternative to the car for a very long time. That's all changing now. Infrastructure is lagging behind big time.

if youre going over 25mph, EUCs dont belong on the bike path. too dangerous for all parties
