Sherrock has a nice voice and was there for the big hits of LRB in the early years, Farnham carried the band through the mid 80's and I was fortunate to see them twice here in the US with Farnham. He quit. Period. The Shorrock/Farnham warriors need to understand that Shorrock quit LRB. Watch Goble here, he hated anything Farnham did that was outside his fascistic stage management. Bah. Goble is a brilliant songwriter but check out his "Stop" album when he has a mediocre vocalist. I'd love to hear Farnham sing those songs, but Goble's is an egomaniac that grabbed "Farnham Light" in Steve Wade. Who he could tell what to do, apparently. Farnham is WORLD CLASS. One of the best ever in my opinion. This is GREAT music. I LOVE old LRB but this is the best lineup: Farnham/Goble/Beetles/Nelson/Housden/Prestwick/Teegarden etc. THE BEST! If you want to do right as 'substitute guitarist' to giants as the original guitarplayers MISTER RIC FORMOSA & MISTER DAVID BRIGGS, than you try to play like them, with all your heart, to honour them. Nothing works here, not the tone, not the style, not the right notes. Yes he is a very good guitarist, without doubt, and I never could play like he does it, but still for me, it has nothing to do with the emotional & well-balanced play of MISTER RIC & DAVID during their time in The Little River Band.
When Glen Shorrock got forced out it was the death kneel of LRB. They lost it and even after bringing him back, they couldn't get back most of the fan base they once enjoyed.
@@roycallard8328 To me, the "True Heart" of the band was decided the moment Shorrock, Birtles and Gobel first sang their golden harmonies together. Their sound of harmonies were as original and unique as The Mills Bros., The Beatles, Crosby, Stills & Nash, or 3 Dog Night. INSTANTLY recognizable. Watch & listen to the BSG reunion videos of 2002. They (Birtles, Shorrock, & Gobel) sounded (and STILL sound) amazingly like their records from 50 yrs. ago. And, they sound more like The Little River Band than the "Tribute" Band touring under the LRB name has for many years now. When Graham, Beeb, and Glenn got together, they also found the perfect blend of songwriters. When they added George on bass, & David on lead guitar ( who replaced original bassist and lead guitarist Roger MacLaren and Rick Formosa ) to Derrick Pellici already on drums, they had one of the best grouping of powerhouse musicians any band could hope for. And it certainly didn't hurt that Briggs was a fine songwriter himself...proven with "Lonesome Loser" ...LRBs last real monster worldwide hit. I respect Farnum as one of the best singers of all time, but in my opinion, the sad truth is that the slow end of LRB first began when George McArdle quit, then David Briggs was fired, and was finally finished when Glen Shorrock was forced out. It was never The Little River Band from that point on. Different? Yes. Good? Yes. Still extremely good as a band, but NOT as "The Little River Band." Why? Because they were not LRB anymore. The soul, the sound, and the style that originally seduced the world to discover their music and fall in love with them were gone. When Farnum came in, the voice positions between Birtles, Gobel in the harmonies changed. Shorrock was a baritone. Farnum a power tenor. Birtles and Gobel repositioned their vocal ranges to accommodate John's natural singing range. The harmonies didn't sound like the quintessential LRB harmonies that people could instantly identify as The Little River Band anymore. The band still had a good sound, but it no longer SOUNDED like LRB. It could have been ANY band signed to a major label. Thus, the audiences and record sales slowly left them. By the time Shorrock was brought back, Birtles and Gobel were gone so there was no recapturing their vocals as a trio. And now with them gone, so were the "hits". Once again by twist of fate, the harmonies and the "magic" were still no longer there. "Magic" that makes a band successful is indefinable. You can't bottle it and you can't duplicate it. I firmly believe, (again in my opinion only) that if LRB had changed their name during the Farnum era, they would have again had more worldwide monster hits under their own right. They had popular records, but none of the monster hits of the 1975-1981 era. They had another great singer in Farnum, and still had the songwriting and singing talents of Birtles & Gobel. But in clinging onto the LRB "brand", the latter incarnations were forever doomed to compete with a beloved legend (The Little River Band ) whose magic had died, and whose original soul and sound was gone forever. That turned out to be an impossible "Row To Hoe". :( Cheers! :)
No Glen and it is wek. The lead guitar player's tone stinks and is not even close to the original tone of the 70's hit recordings plus he is playing with all ego. "Look at me" wow "Look how good I am" and he is not even that strong of a player. The lead singer does over sing the song. By the way to Michael... Wayne is not an "original member" the original members from the 70's thus the inception of the hits was: Glen Sherock, Beeb Bertles, Graham Goble, Derick, David and bassist George McArdle ( the best bass player they had hands down) George was the one that created that hip ass funky bass line in Happy Anniversary and most of the 70's hits. Having now been a professional bass player myself for over 45 years that guys is one creative MoFo.
Nonsense. Goble has flatly stated that the best incarnation of LRB was "The Net" and "No Reins" when it was Farnham, Goble, Beeb, Pellici, Hischfelder Housden, Nelson and the great (RIP) Steve Prestwitch (see Cold Chisel) for "No Reins". I agree with GG. The musicianship in this lineup was unparalleled. Farnham was a really different singer stylistically than Glenn. But, Shorrock quit, he wasn't kicked out.
Why don't they create their own band? they have their own talent! but going stealing a name that doesn't belong to them? i s a total disgrace and shame! sorry but for me? there's only one LRB and this guys? are not ... let it be said, let it be written as it will stay for everyone to SEE!
@Jeff Handon I've been able to get to min. 20 it doesn't sound like LRB by the way .. Birtle, Shorrock and Gobble are under that new name and sing "Someone's taken our history" and improved their "Mistress of mine" with an spectacular guitarist; many can play under "la partirura" music sheet, score whatever but the way the original LRB did it? no match! never!

John Farnham... Losser? Sorry John farnham is the best australian singer.
Kind Regards from: Barcelona, Spain Europe.

It's all a matter of taste. I prefer Glenn Shorrock as the lead singer of the Little River Band !!
He quit.
THE BEST!
So is this cuz it is great for us old codgers:

They are the first Aussie band to make it overseas, while still based in Australia. I am immensely proud of them. You can add it to your Channel if you think you may enjoy their other material.
What a concert!
Bill Brimmer Hi. I am Bill Rimmer. Our names r close. I am from Sylmar California.
Hi Bill, there are Brimmer's in CA.Thanks for your note.
Bill Brimmer wow !!
What a band was it.... my all favorite band ever..... memories all over...
it's not the same LRB from Australia, something fishy went there, find out ...
@@rolphwartieda2707 They're all Australian in this clip except for Wayne Nelson
@@welshieallovertheplace Rolph Wartieda is in a perpetual state of butt hurt yet knows little about how things came to be, or why. But he chirps on incessantly about "thievery" and dirty deeds. SOS.

You sure you are on the correct page here bud??
What are you going to wear when on stage?
This.
That?
Yep.
My favorite group. Vocal is ....on the High Note !!! Great musicians. Bravo !!!!most of the songs are Great. , But not all of them
there's nothing wrong with that; the problem is the appropriation of LRB. period.
@@rolphwartieda2707 No "appropriation" whatsoever. Housden simply outlasted the others in the band, and became the rightful inheritor of the LRB trademark. No dirty deeds involved. Try learn a little actual history before chirping off.
Excelente canción!
the music is alright but they shouldn't name themselves LRB
Stop playing with the bloody Mic stand John ~~ Ha ha 😄
Prefer Glen n Beeb in there but John did a good job too.
Lrb equal to the Eagles
Beeb is in there on this concert
Is camera work that tricky a job??? Wjat's with all the jerking around, close-ups on the fingers etc?? FFS!!
Young Gordon Ramsay on guitar? ;-) Cool!
Glen was the heart of the band. This guy over sings the song.
Your just saying he oversings Because You dislike John Farnham and Therefore You put his name down by saying he oversings If you knew him and his Songs He sung when he went solo you will change your Mind .......based on what you said that he oversings He certainly Does NOT i think your a Fruitcake and a Imbecile 👎👎👎
Over sings!!! Really. John was just a great singer with a powerful voice. You are of course, entitled to your opinion.
i'm laughing at the 80's style fake ROAR to begin every song...otherwise it's great:)
Ich liebe diese wunderbare Musik
@@evelynestellbogen Ich bin ein Berliner.
without Glen Shorrock they're not the Little River Band.
To each their own. I find Housden's style exhilarating, as did Graham Goble and Wayne Nelson (by their own published accounts).
When Glen Shorrock got forced out it was the death kneel of LRB. They lost it and even after bringing him back, they couldn't get back most of the fan base they once enjoyed.
When they got sharrock back, Birtles and Goble, the true heart of the band had already left
Cheers! :)
Glenn was undeniably talented but was forced out because he refused to be a team player. And that's how it often goes.
I think the Lead (Purple Suit) IS the original. Not one of their best concerts; a bit too...cranked up....possibly.
I heartily recommend Housden's "New World Groove" instrumental album.
Stephen Housden far from Original. There were two other lead guitarists before him
I thought the guitar player was great playing with feel and power , every player is different
BSG is LRB, this is rubbish!
not rubbish but not as good as the earlier band
So absurd. But go on.
Birtle, Shorrock and Gobble are under that new name and sing "Someone's taken our history" and improved their "Mistress of mine" with an spectacular guitarist; many can play under "la partirura" music sheet, score whatever but the way the original LRB did it? no match! never!
