PYT, stands for Paid, Young Taking on the world from the driver's seat. Then, the second time he said it, it stood for Paid Young Took a chance to believe in me.
The word you were looking for to describe the significance of the host of a show is catalyst. The host should be one that elevates the enthusiasm in the atmosphere of the event. I'm speaking as one who has interrupted dull business meetings and elevated the energy in the room to the point where people were hyped to go to work.
OKAY SO. When I was younger, I used to watch this movie obsessively. It was my FAVORITE "Another Cinderella Story" out of the 3 pack I had with this, Lucy Hale, and Hillary Duff's movie. I NEVER knew what he was saying until like...2021 when I re-watched the film and realized he said he said PYT. HOWEVEER, I STILL didn't get it until I listened to Michael Jackson's PYT after watching it. Suddenly everything clicked. PYT = Pretty Young Thing. But changed it to Paid, Young, Taking Over The World (From The Driver's Seat) Smh. IT TOOK ME OVER A DECADE TO GET IT. They really needed a better song. Also, as a little black kid, a poc who wanted to be a fashion designer but didn't see many popular fashion designers like me...or any character who were like me...Tammy was like my Clawdeen Wolf before my Clawdeen Wolf. I looked at her and I was like "Yeah, that's gonna be me when I'm older" Which is crazy bc we actually look almost nothing alike but she did kinda look like my mom when she was a teenager.
The original is my favorite, but I thought A Cinderella Story Once Upon a Song was cute and I watch A Cinderella Story Christmas Wish each holiday season
I’ve never been clear why everyone is upset/concerned over the Selena-Drew age gap in this film, but seem to give a pass to the Hilary-Chad age gap in A Cinderella Story. They aren’t that different. Hilary and Selena were both 15/16. While Chad was just shy of 23 and Drew was, I believe, 26. Admittedly, this movie does draw way more attention to the potential physical relationship between the leads. With the sensual dancing and the way Joey lands suggestively on top of Mary, and the infamous “as in my house, as in this position? / “I’m not that kind of guy” scene in Mary’s bedroom. Perhaps that’s where the unease comes from? To his credit, Drew does a very good job with his acting. You can tell he is making a conscious acting effort to make Joey appear non-threatening. Chad did the same, but his vibe came off more indifferent than safe. Between the two, I’ve always enjoyed the connection between Selena and Drew more than Hilary and Chad. It feels more grounded to me. Probably because they got more screen time together than Hilary and Chad. I cannot, however, deal with the Ginger Snaps actresses as the stepsisters. I’ve never found them funny or entertaining. Just like they are in the wrong movie. Don’t get me wrong; I love them in other projects. But not here. Regarding the out of tune guitar: I can’t confirm this, but I think it was meant to be broken, not just out of tune. Everything Mary owns is old, worn down or out, and often cheap or second-hand. You can also take it metaphorically as Mary being out of tune with herself until Joey recognizes her potential and doesn’t judge her. He takes her as is. One thing that I’m still confused about, though, is the ending. Was Joey simply driving Mary to school or were they actually moving in together? Utterly Random Fun Fact: A few years back, Drew and Chad did a Christmas movie called Write Before Christmas in which they have exactly one scene together. And their characters never speak to each other. Drew is essentially portraying a version of the Jane Lynch Dominique character from this movie, except he isn’t an ass or terrible to be around. And Chad is the photographer son of a classical musician. Sam, I just watched your Hazbin Hotel reactions with Maria and I’ve got a question. You mentioned that you don’t really like musical theatre but you know and love Broadway great Jeremy Jordan. How’d you get introduced to him then? Do you remember?
I can't speak for everyone else, but for myself, I had no idea that Hilary and Chad had that much of an age difference until people were saying it in the comments. But in this movie, it's quite easy to see that Selena and Drew are totally different in age. The Ginger Snaps sisters were just wildly entertaining in this one for me lol. The energy is hilarious. A broken guitar wouldn't be able to be almost in tune like that. It'd just be completely unplayable. If there's something wrong with the tuning heads, they won't tighten up enough to be almost in tune and if the bridge is broken, the string tension would cause it to be so far out that it doesn't work at all. Idk about the end. I figured he was just driving her to school. But, who knows? That's a fun random fact about Drew and Chad 😊 I know Jeremy from Supergirl. They gave him several opportunities to sing in it, so I looked into him more and enjoyed his performances. I'm still not really a fan of music theatre, but I can appreciate some of the performers from that world
14:36 Apparently, Marily Monroe was as messy as that and she would eat stuff in her bed, mess it up and not clean it or have it cleaned and then keep it dirty like that even when having dates with men where it would end in the bedroom.
I was obsessed with this movie as a teenager... (I I knew the final dance by heart & everything) & now... as an adult... Okay I CRINGE so bad 🤣 But I guess it's always my favorite movie of the Cinderella story 😅 (Because... Selena !)
Oh, and correction. The mirror in the beginning of the movie is a one way mirror, because it can only be seen one way. A two way mirror would just be 2 mirrors. We went over all this during your training. You emerged from the wilderness that day, a fully disciplined TH-cam movie reviewer.
Yess I’ve been saying that it’s so fun eating dill pickles as a snack bc it’s crunchy but the dill chips are for sandwiches and I’ve literally never seen anyone love pickles more than she does lol
This movie is cheesy but I do appreciate that they tried something different to the usual Cinderella storyline and had the main leads get together early in the story and interact as a real couple
I've said this to many movie reviewers and none have paid attention. There are actually 15 movies based on or inspired by the book, A Cinderella Story. If you want to try to be the first ro watch them all, I will include the list within this comment. They are not all kids or teen movies. I've watched them all because I'm not ashamed to say that I do like the story behind it. Of the list below, they are all American, except for DJ Cinderella which was made in I believe Honduras and was originally filmed in Portuguese. It is available in English online. A Cinderella Christmas A Cinderella Story A Cinderella in the Caribbean Another Cinderella Story A Cinderella Story - Christmas Wish A Cinderella Story - If The Shoe Fits A Cinderella Story - Once Upon A Song A Cinderella Story - Starstruck DJ Cinderella (English version is Cinderella Pop) Elle: A Modern Cinderella Tale Not Cinderella's Type Teen Spirit The High Note Wild Rose
the pain in your face with the out of tune guitar was so real also, a ballet dancer being in a dance competition is kind of always expected; it's one of the most well-known forms of dance there is. In ballet there's a heavy focus on clean lines, technique, and form. As for Natalia, she was doing a style of dance called "contemporary" which has similar moves but it's more grounded in it's approach, more fluid, and uses more modern music. The dance competition is also just a way for dancers to get to work with JP on his next music video, they never really stipulated what kind of style of dance they were looking for.
Not a dancer, but my guess is the mirror is so teachers and moms can watch their kids dance without distracting them
It came be for filming a routine too. Many auditions are filmed through one
Fair point, I hear you ✌️
I pressumed it for dancers to check their form especially for ballet.
filming routines is the main reason

@@Heida77 Really? I wonder if that's why it didn't really seem like Joey liked Mary in the movie, well that and writing. I always saw them as just really good friends except with a kiss at the end in which they had Selena start.
Such a fun solo reaction! Wrapping up my first day back to college with your video and it sure as heck hit the spot 🫶
Thanks so much!
I liked this movie when i was younger. It's still okay. Funny and quite cute. 😊💖
The STEPSISTERS Emily Perkins & Katharine Isabelle Are Sisters In Ginger Snaps !
PYT: Paid Young, and Taking on the world from the drivers seat lol
Ohhh, yeah, I get you. Didn’t really hear the last line 👍
Selena did skate on the skateboard during her teens years not often but here and there. There is a bunch of photos of her skateboarding in the park.
Cool, thanks for the info 😊
I'm pretty sure shrimps are smaller and live in colder waters, while prawns are bigger and live in warm waters, but nowadays you can use both terms interchangeably
I was obsessed with this movie as a kid as usual 💖
Same, I watched all three of the Cinderella adaptations religiously lol
PYT, stands for Paid, Young Taking on the world from the driver's seat. Then, the second time he said it, it stood for Paid Young Took a chance to believe in me.
I hope it is ok to say. I hope Steph is doing well.
Totally ok 😊 and yeah, Stef’s doing better now
I'm SUPER late to watching this BUT I think I love this one as much as the first one! So glad you reacted to this one!! 🤩
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
The word you were looking for to describe the significance of the host of a show is catalyst. The host should be one that elevates the enthusiasm in the atmosphere of the event. I'm speaking as one who has interrupted dull business meetings and elevated the energy in the room to the point where people were hyped to go to work.
just yesterday i was thinking how i missed a romcom reaction from this channel thanks for this sam!!
No worries 😊 thanks for coming back!
I looked at her and I was like "Yeah, that's gonna be me when I'm older"
Which is crazy bc we actually look almost nothing alike but she did kinda look like my mom when she was a teenager.
11:22 I like the colors, but whatever was used to make that dress can go lol
I hear you 😊
The original is my favorite, but I thought A Cinderella Story Once Upon a Song was cute and I watch A Cinderella Story Christmas Wish each holiday season
6:58 yeah I did my whole life & could never figure out y they had a 2 way mirror other than plot
Thanks for the info 😊
A bit cheesy, almost seems like a parody, but a fun watch. I really enjoy the dance numbers. Oh, and that was a tango :).
For sure 😊 thanks for the info! - Sam
That's a fun random fact about Drew and Chad 😊
I know Jeremy from Supergirl.
"oh...performing at your own party? :( " right? Only Prince could do that and pull it off
Lol yeah, it’s a tough one 😆
drew seeley was 26 while selena gomez was 16 😬
Yup, that makes sense from how they looked - Sam
Awesome reaction of my favorite movie!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you! 😁
Yess I’ve been saying that it’s so fun eating dill pickles as a snack bc it’s crunchy but the dill chips are for sandwiches and I’ve literally never seen anyone love pickles more than she does lol
I’m with you. These days I’ll have a whole dill pickle on the side any time I’m having fried chicken. Great combo 👌
15:29 "We've been looking for you since Christmas boy!"
I’m really glad that your reacting to this movie
Thanks 😊
and looking forward to checking out your videos with maria!
Thanks so much!
Oh hiiii so glad to see this notif omg 😭

This movie had a chokehold on me as a kid.

Thank you so much!
@@themoviebud1988 oh my god u answered! hope all is well!
Things could be better, but I’m working on it. Hope you’re doing well also 😊
Please watch the other CINDERELLA STORY MOVIES
I don’t think I’ll do all of them, but I’m at least considering the next one 😊
@@themoviebud1988 once upon a song, if the shoes fits and startstuck. I would personally skip the Christmas wish one.
You should definitely watch the next one Cinderella once upon a song… it’s about singing obviously
It’s something I’m considering 😊 thanks for pointing out that it’s about singing, that does help
@@themoviebud1988 awesome can’t wait!
This movie is cheesy but I do appreciate that they tried something different to the usual Cinderella storyline and had the main leads get together early in the story and interact as a real couple
This one was my fave one and I liked the music
I love this movie …. So much….
I think PYT actually stands for Pretty Young Thing
This time it doesn’t, unfortunately. That was MJ
The step sisters were in a horror movie lol
Yeah, Ginger Snaps. I thought I mentioned that? - Sam
A Cinderella Christmas
A Cinderella Story
A Cinderella in the Caribbean
Another Cinderella Story
A Cinderella Story - Christmas Wish
A Cinderella Story - If The Shoe Fits
A Cinderella Story - Once Upon A Song
A Cinderella Story - Starstruck
DJ Cinderella (English version is Cinderella Pop)
Elle: A Modern Cinderella Tale
Not Cinderella's Type
Teen Spirit
The High Note
Wild Rose
how am i supposed to watch this without maria
With great patience and understanding 👍😂
@@themoviebud1988 LOL. love you man.
1:20 the other sister was on american mary (main role)
4:12 yes she is the daughter from the flash 🌩
Thanks for the info 😊
the pain in your face with the out of tune guitar was so real
also, a ballet dancer being in a dance competition is kind of always expected; it's one of the most well-known forms of dance there is.
Oh yeah, it was honestly surprising to hear it that out of time lol.
Cool beans, thanks for the extra info 😊
Would love to see you do a Cinderella story:once upon a song
Drew Seely was 26 while Selena Gomez was 15 when this movie was made
15:00 see clothes everywhere doesn’t bother me but throw the food away when your done don’t leave it
