recently purchased a cub tractor. I also bought Rachel's book and followed one of her videos to replace the rings and head gasket .All their vids are full of clear helpful advice
Just purchased a 1952 Farmall Cub. I believe I am the third owner which is pretty cool. I have been watching and enjoying all your cub videos. Keep up the good work. It's great to see someone passionate about keeping history alive. I just bought your book and am waiting for it to arrive.
If you own a Cub, you should have her book. If you’re looking to purchase a Cub, you NEED her book. I wish most books were as well illustrated with simple to follow directions. My only complaint is that she isn’t turning out books on other antique tractors. Most are fairly simple machines, but it sure helps to have someone walk you through it.
Vv
Glad your back, need more videos!
I miss my cub.
Hello Dan and Rachell I have thoroughly enjoyed all of your videos, even when I am not working on what your video is about, I learn something new every time. I bought a 1965 Ford 3400 Industrial 3 cylinder gas about 2.5 years ago and ya'll have helped me out tremendously on some issues, which I am great full, it is still work in progress but it is in working condition and I will stay on it until its complete. Some people can make a video and ramble through it missing pertinent information which is crucial to the repair, you are very thorough in explaining the process in the repair and so patient in doing it. I am having trouble figuring out the 3pt lift handle lever, it works fine up and down but it will not hold its position.it is either all the way up and it holds or all of the way down. I can clamp it in any position to use it, but I would like to repair it correctly so if there is any direction you can steer me in I would greatly appreciate it. I do have a manual but it is very vague on that subject. thank you in advance.. Cesar Hernandez
Sounds like a worn out or missing friction disc washer on the rod at the base of your lever handle
I’m just getting started and you guys are the best people in the world can thank you enough for everything
Looks like a great book Rachel. Someday I will purchase it. Thanks Dan and Rachel for another helpful video. 🇺🇸
You both
You both do a fantastic job on your videos! I use them all the time to work on my 1948 farmall cub. Great work and thank you!
Awesome Rachel congrats on the new book .Your video's are so well detailed .Thank you for sharing your gift.
I`ve been trying to find a young lady who can appreciate older things.
Just realised, you guys have been doing this channel for 10 years at least. Congrats to all involved in the production I love the informative content.
My father in law just bought a partially restored Cub. I'm gonna be the best son in law in the world and give him your book for his birthday.
Also something tells me that some of the repair on Cubs would be applicable to my Super A.
Have a great memorial day weekend. Thanks 😊!!
You are amazing and very talented and I appreciate your extensive knowledge and experience. Thank you
Well done! All your videos are so informative.
Congrats on the book, Rachel!
Nice video....Great book! Looks like a great deal of this info will apply to my father in laws Farmall 140.
Love the Farmall cub videos 🤠
A great way to learn and practice.
Every time I watch your videos I'm jealous. You know alote more than me.
Hi Rachel this is a very helpful video thanks so much
People might like to know why and what function the ballast resistor performs and why it might be required.
If you're burning up your points relatively quickly it may be a faulty or missing ballast resistor. The resistor drops (resists) the voltage going to the points making them last longer. The condenser could be bad also as it minimizes the spark at the points as they are opening & closing in operation. Hope that helps.
Always so knowledgeable. Thanks
Great information helps a lot 👍. Thanks 😊!!
I just bought a cub and want to change over to 12 volts, my question is how to change the coil which is built in to the distributer
Love your videos you are a very smart young lady keep up the good work
Holy cow I bought Dan and his wife video on vhs🤣 in the mid 1990s on cub overhaul. Did my 1st engine from that video
That is his daughter, not his wife.
@@johncolvin2561 I know who Rachel is lol but b4 your time...maybe....he and his wife made rebuild vids in the late 80s, early 90s
Please do a book for Farmall H just like the Cub one!
I have a question. Should my 75 Cub be the same number 1 hole on the cap? The number 1 in this video, mine seems to be 1 counterclockwise on the cap is where they have it going. I bought this 6 months ago and I have never heard it run yet.
It doesn't matter which hole #1 sparkplug wire is in out of the four. What matters is #1 piston is on top dead center compression stroke and then put the plug wire on the cap hole the rotor is pointing at. Then arrange the rest of the wires to match the distributor rotation and firing order.
I have a question. Im looking for the 6 volt rear light with translucent RED back. All i can find are 12 volt. Any help with knowledge of who sells 6 volt translucent light is greatly appreciated. Yesterday's & Steiner i don't find it on their site's.
Thank you in advance
What size screws hold points and condenser in distributor? Purchased a 53 cub and no points or condenser were in distributor?
Is your positive on this cub the ground? I cannot remember the exact terminology for what it’s called. Is it a Negative positive ? I have heard of the earlier Cubs having this or something along that type of setup.
4 cylinder advance jumping, I'm getting spark just not to my points. With a spark plug tester between the wire and plug scraping the negative terminal on the battery you could see a spark clicker. Toggle switch push button start, on and off works. Toggle switch does seem to be in reverse no matter what I do by reversing the wires, on is off and off is on. Other wires on the gauge panels seem to be wired exactly as the diagram says. Have you or your dad ever had this experience on a 4-cylinder engine? It's actually a four-cylinder Hercules generator from world war II
Can you check the compression on a Farmall Cub without taking the hood off
How about any advice on buying a Farmall 140, what to look for good and bad and also fair prices to give for one? I am looking at one online 1965 for $5800 but no clue if that is good or not.
Question do u have any videos of speed wobble for row crop tractors ie allis charmers ca 1951
I have a super a with no spark took the distributor off. Don’t see any points or condenser . It has been running fine. Had it for several years. Suddenly it quit yesterday What am I missing?
Great video.
=Do you have a video with directions to install a belt on a 4C-4 Woods mower under the belly of a 1968 Farmall Cub low boy?
I think my bearings are going out on my Ford 8N. Do you have any videos on this?
I want to order my parts from you because I enjoy your videos but I'm having trouble with your website
Excellente video!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
How does the voltage regulator mount on a 1950 Farmall Cub Tractor?
I just bought an International F-Cub. I looked at your site and didn’t see F-Cub. Will any of the kits you sell fit it? I’m wanting points, distributor, plugs, wires.
Thank you
Does a coil need to be removed/disconnected to test its resistance?
Maybe not removed but the wires disconnected so you get accurate readings on the coil itself only.
Have you ever worked with a b Ned how do u tell what tooth to put it on
This application is for alot of I H distributor, I found if I take the distributor out it easily done, ,Rachel do you have a static timing video?
Yay another good video
Hmm, is there a reason you left the distributor on the tractor rather than remove the base and do this incredibly detailed work, on a bench?
Its’s easy to troubleshoot a perfect cub. My light didn’t blink on step 2. Now what do I do. They skipped that
What does it mean when I can't get spark to my plug wires. I have power leaving the distributor to the coil depending on weather or not the points are open or closed.when the key is on start no fire when it is turning over.when the key is just on it will have fire or not but will not flash when spinning over.no fire to plug wires
Check your ballast resistor is in series in the primary line to the distributor. Make sure it's ok and correct for either a 6V or 12V system.
Also make sure your cap & rotor are both good or replace them. In some cases the spark will travel from the rotor to the shaft & not out the cap.
@@frombryant6678
All is new but cap .it is only 2 yrs old.
Have a new one on the way to cross that out.brother said that maybe we need to eliminate the external resistor since the coil has an internal one.ink it worked before for yrs.
@@williamtobias8948 Yes if the coil has an internal resistor, eliminate or bypass the external one. Two is too many.
Thanks will do away with the external resistor.
I'm gonna have to go on yalls website for my 185. Mine shuts off after an hour of cutting grass
Great videos. Do you do any on the 140?
I just found your site and I love your video's. Do you have a suggestion about finding a Farmall Cub or Farmall 140? I would love to have a cultivating tractor for the garden. I have a tractor to till the garden but the Farmall brings me back to my youth on the farm.
Great video!
That was supposed to say when the key is on run it would have fire or not depending on weather or not the points were open or closed.
Does anyone know the correct rotor button part number? I hear it’s hit or miss at part stores.
How about doing a video on adding hydraulic remotes on an MF 175, and maybe some tips on rewiring one of these tractors since apparently, no one makes a harness for them. Enjoy your videos.
Jamil Rachel What we see in changing the circuit distributor (Albulettin) and it must be weighed
You have a book . Awesome. Does it cover the governor. I need help with it.
Well done....! thank you..
First thing: where did the test light clip on to off camers?
Do u have a video on how to time a distributor on a case va series tractor ?
Hi Rachel, what model camera do you use? Your video quality are amazing!
Your videos are great! Just found your channel and watched a few- any chance you do any work on Universal UTB tractors? I've got an old 640 and she's due for a clutch, not much content available on youtube for these.
Keep up the great work!
Looking to order a tune up kit for a 1946 farm mall tractor M series

Boy I'm having issues. Just start off I'll be buying a book. But I have spark and fuel it act like wants to start but it will not. I don't have high tech stuff. I do have compression. I buy this to restore me and my son. But still have issues. The motor had stuck valve and it fix now. There back fire not sure if it's out of time or not.
It's a 1955 I think 154 lo cub 4c trying to learn but issues our issues.lol
I’m going to order a ball cap if you’ll have them
It's been my experience that nearly all 4 cyl. gas engines are 1-3-4-2. That was a good year huh? Typically great video.
Where is the location of this technical workshop?
Nice
She's beautiful! She doesn't seem to age!
❤❤❤👍👍👍
Points and condenser are new gaped at 20,000
I had dimple on cap we found it was upside down
Do a book on a super a
I think it is proper to mention the other author of the book: Ken Updike.
Hii sear main i want to come
Your my first love 😍
Sorry if msg ready by my father in law
This is such a beautiful woman
You didn’t put any grease on that low sodium points are going to wear out pretty fast without any lubrication
I don't like commercials
Great video
