Agreed. They wouldn't have that in a stage performance. Also the smoke in the back ground spoils the effect.
When performed live they gouge your eyes and wallet out so you won't notice.

Except in the first shot, they did a camera cut when putting on the table top. The shades were already down after the cut so it wasn't as noticeable.
Also, when they bring the curtain you can see the shade because it cast a shadow.

Thats the problem with some of these tricks, I doubt they would be able to show it for audiens. It only works with cameras, and barely then. As you say, those drapes would be possible for anyone to see, when they fall down. In the video its cut out and not even done as they say.
