Wanna know something sad? When he was looking at the stingray that ended his life with a lucky strike, some of his last words were "It wasn't his fault, I startled him," so yeah. this guy was too fucking pure.
Peter HMan he let the fierce snake “kiss” him on the face. The fierce snake is extremely docile. The black mamba is the perfect combination of speed, venom, aggression and intelligence.
+Peter HMan There is a video on TH-cam of him holding a fierce snake. I think there was another episode where he only got close to it. He didn't seem that nervous with the fierce snake, though, just cautious. This also isn't the most scared Steve Irwin has been. Hippos scared him shitless. He was almost killed by a hippo when he rowed out to a group of them in a little boat, but it bumped into a fellow hippo while coming towards Irwin and they started fighting with each other instead. That saved Irwin's life because the hippos pretty much kill any human who enters their territory. It's hard to believe the hippo didn't kill him, but the mostly harmless sting ray did.
The black mamba is without doubt the most feared and respected snake by professionals. Others may have more toxic venom (taipan) but none are faster, more aggressive or have faster acting venom than a black mamba. You would probably die quicker from a black mamba bite than a taipan bite simply because the mamba’s poison is faster acting than the taipans
Andrew Powell You don't know what you're talking about. He was killed in a one-in-a-million type of accident with a normally harmless sting ray while simply swimming near it. Steve Irwin was never bitten by a venomous animal because he showed them ultimate respect...and he loved animals more than himself.
CrocDoc1 He was never bitten by any venomous animal because he was a good smoke and mirrors actor who used venomoids for most of his shows. His smoke and mirrors disappearing act of being attacked by a Stingray was also good acting on his part and good smoke and mirrors on Stainton's part, although it did go ever so slightly wrong, and Steve's chest was injured. But he played the "apparent death" game well enough on that beach for the medics to pronounce him dead. That pronouncement was all that was needed; Steve's best mate John Howard handled the rest.
CrocDoc1 Many will call me a nut, but I am collecting the proof to back my claims up. Whatever I say or don't say, the truth is that I saw Steve Irwin alive and well face to face in January 2015. His shirt was open and indeed there was a scar on his chest but he was breathing, talking and laughing just fine. Dead men don't walk around doctor's offices talking and laughing with people. One could say he was just a lookalike, but I know who I saw. I know that voice and that laugh. And when he laughs, he laughs at the whole world who believed his stunts were real and believes he died on September 4, 2006 without there being one shred of physical proof of his demise. Think about that one. All we have is people's words. No real proof. No real records. The man doesn't even have a grave. The family and sources close to them say he is buried at the Australia Zoo at a place only the family and close friends know, despite the fact I corresponded with the authorities in Beerwah and none of the land owned by the Irwins has been approved for someone to be buried there. You need a special permission to have that happen. But there is none attached to any of the land they own. In other words, if anyone was to be buried on that land, the Irwins would be breaking the law. There is simply no record of any of that land being legally suitable to house a grave. He is not buried anywhere in public either. And there is also no record of him being cremated, or otherwise, save for the record of a Beerwah man making the request that he be fed to his crocs should he die - but that was not Steve's wish, that is in fact his dad Bob's wish, at least at the time. Bob of course no longer lives in Beerwah.
CrocDoc1 So Steve is not buried and he is not cremated, so where is he? Haha, well, guess what: *Abbott wont hide what Howard did.* The whole world will soon know the truth about Stephen Robert Irwin. No one can silence us.
He was my childhood hero. Still is. I was completely heartbroken when he passed away. He taught me to both fear and respect nature. If I ever have kids, I want to watch old videos of Steve Irwin with them. I want them to fear and respect nature too, and be educated about wildlife.
He really was a legend. Not only with his enthusiam and his passion for animals, but the way he handled such dangerous/feared animals like snakes, crocodiles etc. with such ease and explored both the good and bad aspects of the animal to give us a better understanding of them made him a true legend. Rest in peace great man
When the end comes there will be a hidden book that will hold all the great men and woman that advanced the worlds names, I guarantee Steve Irwin will be in there, True Blue.
Black Mambas, Taipans, Komodo Dragons, Lions, Saltwater crocs, and MANY more deadly animals, Steve handled with ease and expertise. It's insane to me that a usually harmless stingray was the one that ended it for him. The whole world misses him.
Drew Russell I agree, would love to see a film about his life. I can't think of anyone who could play Steve Irwin and do it justice. He was one of a kind for sure. We're right around the nine year anniversary of his death. I still can't believe he is no longer with us.
bull864 it's sounds bad but I would have rather heard that he died by a megaladon or a tiger or bear, considering all the insanely dangers animals he's been with it's sad that it's was a stingray
He’s dealt with Death Adders, Tiger Snakes, both Black and Brown species as well as the Taipans on a regular basis... yet the Black Mamba is the only snake species he truly seemed intimidated by. RIP Steve, you are truly missed.
Because the Black Mamba is so fast, so much stronger pound for pound than most other snakes, and has a powerful bite force with longer than average fangs for an Elapid.
Only reason why I'd make an Australian accent, know 65% of animal nature from just watching his show, why I respected the animal kingdom more, he made me feel like I was there with him in Africa, Austrailia, swimming in the Pacific Ocean. I felt like I was the camera man or his helper in these journeys. It's been years I've watch one of his clips/show. Did anyone else got goosebumps/chills or even saddened????? This man never knew me or even knew I existed yet I have some kind of feelings. Kinda like a family member feelings, wish he was still here making more videos.
This is one of the few times I've been nervous watching Steve Irwin handle a snake. I mean, this dude was my first superhero, and he admitted of being afraid of that snake!
Steve Irwin was the most fearless naturalist of them all. He had a passion for crocodiles and snakes. I saw him bond with just about any animal in the wild. He was my mentor as I am a herper, and have owned some very large Boas. He is sorely missed and died too young at 44 yrs.
We miss you, Steve❤️such an amazing influence on my life. I watched his show everytime it came on as well as Bindi the jungle girl. He will never be forgotten❤️
thank you for this. steve inspired me to try and follow in his footsteps from an early age, but honestly, everytime I see him in old videos...i want to curl up and cry. however, we all need to remind ourselves just how amazing this man was from time to time. so, once again, thanks.
A black mamba came upon my uncle's farmhouse once (more than once, but this was special). A worker called him out saying there's a mamba. They were around 30 min to the nearest medical help, so killing it wasn't as much a choice as a necessity, especially for someone who doesn't usually handle snakes. They went out, grabbed shovels and they confronted it. It stood upright threatening them. My uncle says he then chopped at its upright neck with the side of the shovel. A grown man with an iron shovel. He says it felt like striking a solid iron pole. The snake barely even moved, he says. But my uncle fell over from the recoil of the impact and the snake started coming at him. He was on his back and with the speed of the mamba he wouldn't have had a chance. Fortunately, just in time the other worker came up from behind the snake and shoved the shovel into the ground through the snake's neck. A black mamba is a beautiful and ruthless monster. And Steve Irwin was a bit of a monster himself. 😅 I would be long gone.
It's crazy how he respected all animals no matter how deadly they were.. I honestly feel like the animals respected Steve himself and that's why he rarely got bit
You know that there had to have been a guy whose job was to carry around a few doses of antivenom every time Steve was planning to pick up a taipan or black mamba by the tail. In Steve's line of work, anything could go wrong. Still, the guy had some stones to go up against the deadliest creatures on earth on a regular basis and we all learned so much from him as kids because he would do that.
This guy was my hero growing up this legend taught me to respect and love all animals and got me into reptile keeping at a young age I learned a lot off this man and I forever grateful to him for opening up the world to me
What a wonderful character!!!! Steve we all miss you so much, & we’re so fortunate to have these priceless memories of you in action. What a gigantic loss for the planet. Truly great Australian & human being, you will never be forgotten, RIP Legend.
What a loss the world had when God called this man home... he was something more I'll tell you so fun to watch and listen as he did what he loved doing and just like Dale Earnhardt of NASCAR he too died doing what he loved cant feel no sorry for him for doing what they loved and he was no doubt in my mind the best at what he did RIP Steve your son looks just like you you would be very very proud of your family and friends
I've handled my fair share of venomous snakes, but you couldn't pay me enough to get anywhere near any type of Mamba or Taipan without glass in between.
I'm with you on that I've handled a couple venomous snakes I would handle a taipan although I wouldn't handle a coastal one they're way more aggressive! but I would not take the chance with the black mamba no way no how!
Steve rushed into the hut went straight up to the Mamba grabbed it by the tail and could have dropped it into the bag with no problems but no had to drag it outside to show everyone. Steve was a great guy but he was a showman. The other Aussie wonder Andrew Ucles raced up to a 9-foot Black Mamba and grabbed it by the tail wearing nothing but shorts. Steve easily handled an Inland Taipan but it was the Coastal Taipan that really rattled him.
When a man that wrestles crocodiles and lions and crawled headfirst into pitch black caves with zero fear admits to and is visibly shaken by an animal...well...that says a lot about that animal doesn't it. We miss you steve...you truly were superman oh and btw you would be super proud of your kids
I've noticed that EVERY person that goes after a Black Mamba has to psyche themselves up to even THINK about messing with it. I think Austin Stevens had a drink or 2 before going after it...THIS SNAKE IS AWESOME!!!!
I get into arguments all the time with people when I say the Black Mamba is the deadliest snake on earth I get usually the same response the Inland Taipan which is non aggressive and before Anti-Venom had a little over 80% mortality rate Steve Irwin said he had never had more respect for an animal in his life and he's handled many Taipans as well as Eastern browns both in Australia ,proves my point
Hash 66 If you get into that sort of argument again, here are a few other points to bring up: -Mambas are longer and there for have a greater reach if they wish to strike -Mambas are faster and can catch up to a human much easier, which brings me to... -Mambas live in MUCH closer proximity to humans, and it’s not even uncommon for them to get into cars and houses -Mambas might have less potent venom, but they inject more when they bite and will strike several times while a Taipan usually only bites once...
When this man is scared, you know it's business...what a legend
The world is definitely a much sadder place without this man.
yep
Chris Roy I agree and the poor animals he could have helped but isn't here to do it.
Insomniac But his son is 🙂
Why? He was a fucking retard.
My favorite video of two fallen legends!! #RIPKobe #RIPSteve

this guy was too fucking pure.
His very last words were "I'm dying mate".
2 inch hole over his heart.
Why would u say his last words fucko! Remember the good times and not the morbid . He did more for nature then you mom did when pumped u out!
Sorry I overacted my bad. You were only answering a question. I should fully read your comment before replying
im gonna cry
Many imitators have tried to follow in his footsteps, but I think we can all agree that no one will ever be able to replace him.
There's only one Steve irwin
No one will be able to replace him but I’d love to see Robert Irwin have the same respect fame and most importantly love for animals as him.
Agreed
Dude grabbed a Mamba by the tail and pulled it out of a house. You will not see anybody do that.
@@shibbymiyah6614 his son and daughter are rlly awesome
Wanna know how dangerous the Black Mamba is...? This is by far the most nervous you’ll see steve when handling an animal.
Except for when he found the Fierce Snake in Australia. He was too scared to even pick it up because its even more deadly then the Black Mamba
Peter HMan he let the fierce snake “kiss” him on the face. The fierce snake is extremely docile. The black mamba is the perfect combination of speed, venom, aggression and intelligence.
