BHARATI ONCOLOGY HOSPITAL

The new Oncology Center designed as a standalone building at Dhankawadi is an extension of its current 750 bed Teaching Hospital. Due to the site constraints, the significant challenge was to accommodate the new facility into a very compact footprint of only 1500 sq.
The tower is structurally designed for 15 storey vertical expansion. The spatial flow is designed with race-track layout for easy way-finding and efficient circulation. The space planning incorporates the best practices in healthcare planning through the use of “Evidence Based Criteria” (EBD) criteria. At completion the new Oncology Unit will include a fully integrated Cancer care with Radiation Oncology Bunkers, Radiation therapy, PET CT Room, Brachy Unit, Tumor Board Room, Waiting Areas, Chemotherapy Rooms, Registration Areas, OPD’s, changing rooms etc. The majority of patient rooms are private and include a large window, seating area and a sofa bed for visitors.
