Hey Dustin, a diesel mechanic friend tells me he always keeps a sheet of rubber or something to stuff into the air intake if possible in case of a runaway
Can someone answer me this question what happened to the American truck driver. Where it was just you and the truck and your cb. Where you actually had to pay attention to your surroundings in front behind and both sides of you.
whenever im coming up to inspect a piece of equipment that is new or that im unfamiliar with im very slow and tedious to examine exactly where all the parts and pieces fit together and how everything is designed to operate. that way unexpected functions don't surprise me on the fly. this after i accidentally burnt a trailer up because i didnt understand how sensitive a johnson bar trailer brake near the steering wheel was...
Unfortunately I can't disclose that at this point. I wish I could because I think some people would like it at this company and they need drivers. But, the TH-cam trolls cause me issues with there stupid stuff.
I might be disclosing the company soon. I gotta speak with the boss man and see what he thinks. In the past I had people annoying the company with silly stuff trying to get me in trouble. Some people suck...
@ it sounds like a pretty good company, I’d definitely be interested in getting more info. I’m pretty much living OTR right now so I’m looking for a company that can keep me rolling and pays decently. I don’t know if there’s a good way to get my contact info to you to pass on to the boss but I’ll keep tuning in.
im at home waiting to see if i have to explain a hard brake to stop at a red light, i think everyone hard brakes sooner ar later to not run a red light i was empty
When you're ready to work for a company that doesn't have all that safety crap on the trucks let me know. We're based out of Ohio they pay 63 cents a mile with no Hazmat add 66 cents a mile if you have Hazmat and we hardly haul Hazmat
I don't hate Volvos, they are solid reliable trucks and the sleeper on the VNL is big enough. For me it is just they way I sit while driving. I am from the old school and I like to ride low with my beady little head barely sticking up over the dash. The driver seat sits up to high and the steering wheel is in a weird spot.
@@truckertrashdustin Ahh, 10 - 4. That's funny, because I liked to sit high. I say "liked" because I can't sit like that anymore. It was causing pressure on my thighs and causing my legs to swell up. Was glad I figured that out. Now, I drive with my feet 'firmly' planted on the floor. No biggie, I got used to it.
Yup! burt renolds meets snowman for a drink, bruh! more education with advice then a library on the scenic route! more help than a bucket of thumbs & elbows!💤😁
Dude, your like a normal person with a sense of humor. Rare in trucking today.
I think normal would be a stretch...lol
I appreciate the positive input!!
Were waiting for the holiday special!
I will work on that...lol
Looking for a new job at the moment.
Excellent video, I love your content.
I appreciate that!!

That would be one way to do it.
Probably better on the truck than popping the clutch.
Or if its a automatic.
Great video! They putting all this bs on the truck to get to full autonomy!
Yeah, they are trying.
With the way this stuff works I can safely say full automation won't be happening anytime soon.
A little sabbath in the intro. Hadn’t heard that in ages.
Excellent observation!
I speed it up a little but you are spot on...
First album early ozzy
@@greenbeld - the wizard! black sabbath released their first 5 albums in 3.7 years...5 of the greatest and most influential albums ever...

Most companies don't want to pay for quality drivers.
All about greed....
I had to rewind after the cow sound to see if it was your video or outside. Theres alot of cow haulers around ( ft morgan co)
when my truck beeps and flashes lights at me for no apparent reason i get so scared i almost crash.

What company are you working with now?
I’m still looking for a good company to run for.
Unfortunately I can't disclose that at this point.

@ it’s a shame that some people ruin it for everyone but I totally get it.
Thanks for sharing your journey anyway, I enjoy your videos!

Are you based out of Michigan?
I am not 100 percent sure but I think they want all trucks parked at the yard when you are on off time.
My buddy sent me a picture in the new Freightliner don't even have are knobs for the brakes. They are buttons. Freaking buttons

Yeah, that is definitely one of those goofy routes.
a man has to know how to drive , be a lawyer and deal with the BULLSHEEEEET
fifth gen sounds like too much to deal with,
Hmmm, I prefer Volvos. Why don't you like Volvos? Or, I used too. Haven't been in one in awhile. Company I work for now has freight shakers. 😡
