No western influences... good. celebrate your own culture and make what you're good at. that is why we got into their games to begin with. If we want western products we already have tons of stuff to choose from. In that regard it sounds positive. Still... words are just words. Now they need to back it up with consistent action of a prolonged period of time. My issue with the JRPG genre as a whole is more that it got super bland with predictable story beats. And generic feelings worlds. Very formulaic just as Ubisoft makes their games... it isn't good. Realized this when going back to the older JRPG's from the late 80's and 90's where the settings felt a lot more unique and fantastical. I want more of that. I agree with the cannibalism comment. The game market is over saturated and we gamers only have X amount of money and Y amount of time to play. When companies release too many games in too short a time they'll just lose out on stuff. Especially since the JRPG market is still relatively niche with gamers going from 1 to the next. It isn't like other bigger genres where you got tons of gamers spread out across many different products. Know your product, know your audience, know your market...very basic but many companies need to be reminded.
There's a big reason why there are 11 Dragon Quest games. I've never really been a fan of the series but I know my history. Right now I plan on getting into Dragon Quest 11 and then playing Dragon Quest 3 when it comes out too.

If it helps, HowLongtoBeat is pretty useful if you need to know any game length. You should be good with VIsions of Mana since the series tends to be around 20 hours.
SE seem to be making a big turnaround n going back to their fun japanese fantasy/adventure roots they've been busy re-releasing all of their original catalog with fan workshop improvements on Steam. I know it could be early but I wanna start believing they're looking after us old time fans the fact even their share holders are questioning n criticizing the involvement of these fake consultancy rackets over in the Western hemisphere is a good indicator SE are serious about re-establishing their original company image. In fact I think that game company's in the US, Europe n UK should also reject this fake consultancy mind virus n learn to make fun games on affordable studio budgeting with their audience base at the forefront.
Remakes are nice and all but they are not new games. The only thing kinda new is Fantasian going multiplatform. The upfront cost just to play one Apple Arcade game is just too high for someone not already owning an Apple device.
Definitely want to get them all, but don't think I'll have the time to actually play them. Still, at least Fantasian and Visions of Mana I'll try to buy day 1 to support those series, unless some really bad news comes along in the meantime.

It was my first valkyrie game so i didn't know how the old ones was. I need square to make sure ff9 remake is godly, its my fav one and the only ff ive gotten mad far in. Got stuck on this bose tht was in a cave and i got locked in and couldn't go back out to lvl up, never finished it😂😂😂

I'm in agreement with you when it comes to the Dragon Quest music. I just cannot vibe with it, and because of that, it turned me off from the games.
I simply loathe western games now. Hopefully square enix goes back to its roots and disconnect from western influences completely.
