Hi there Jun!! My husband and I are troubled by the wheel spacers on your tires. (We are residents of the US) There is a reason why they are illegal in certain countries. Those guys at Redspring should have known better than to offer the spacers as a solution to your offset issues. Please please please go back to Redspring and have them offer the correct rim offset for your tires and take the spacers off ompletely. It is their fiduciary responsibility to ensure your safety. It is very unsafe to have those spacers as they may cause your wheels to fall off & disengage. Be well & stay safe my friend ....
Agreed. I'm very surprised to know at the end of the video that there is offset issue. I thought RedSpring should have know better if the wheel width and tire wideness will clear. Not sure if Spacer will cause more headache in future but us trackie, it is a no no
That's the first thing I noticed from your choice of wheels, it needed more negative offset. The wheels you had where too inboard and did not fill out the guards enough. In Australia, spacers are illegal. Plus if using them, they put more stress on your wheel bearings - wearing them out faster. It would have been best to choose a wheel which has the required correct negative offset for your vehicle (ie. -20 at least).
Red Springs could have advised you with the correct offset rims suitable for your car. You can also check the offset in your old rim. Spacer whilst it overcome the issue but not the best long term solution.
A word of advice from someone who lives in a country full of Toyota landcruisers. Wheel spacers are illegal in Australia for a reason. I don’t know if they explained to you that they will alter your steering and put extra pressure on your wheel bearings. I would be changing the rims for a deeper offset. The problem with getting rims from the United States is that they don’t have any experience with landcruisers at all. Australia, on the other hand has been the testing ground for the land cruiser for a very long time. There are several businesses here with all the right equipment that you need. 38 mm spacers are way too thick. Trust me you need to change the rims.
@@classicscustomsandhotrodso600 Spacers will increase pressure on the bearings but rims with equivalent offset won't? I don't see it but hopefully you can explain that.
The truck looks great. Great choice of wheels. I would have addressed the wheel bearing issue by replacing both front bearings. The bigger wheels and tires, plus the spacers, will accelerate the bearing issue.
Another great video and really enjoy your content. The new shoes look fantastic but I need to mention spacers can be dangerous especially on a 4WD. Always here to support... Regret to say, that's not the best rim you've choosen. The shop should've more expertise to advise customers, it's like they don't even inspect your vehicle and recommend you accordingly. Well what to recommend without the skills and knowledge it seems. I don't recommend spacers for 4wd especially if you're going for moderate off road that sometimes can stumble into heavy ones. Those balancing weight on the rim seems a bit too much, especially for the new rim. Anyway.. Cheers from kg Buayan, Sabah offroaders.

If you mean the hub centric ring, nope
They should of sold you wheels with an offset , those spacers aren’t the safest choice
Thanks for your insight :)
Jun .. jangan kacau orang tukar tayar 😅😅
Sekali sekala la....
70 kinda too thick if u not gonna do offroad, 65 probly better (bigger making more noise), but if u using 275, mayb would have solve ur spacer needed problem (i'm using 285/60/r18 which shorter then urs in total, but 60 need to avoid rough driving to avoid hitting my cosmic rim.....which i did hit once😢 ). i'm using TOYO AT japan imported only RM680 each, which cost lot cheaper then this brand and BF. adding spacer and without wider ur fender and wider mud guard, u will face tones of dirt that splashed up from ur front and rear tyres, over ur side door, side window, even the inner part of ur door handle. 1 lastthing, when u doing alignment, thre's a very little space that they can adjust ur front wheel forward or backward, which u need to remind them, for my case, i need to find the same worker to do the alignment for me, he knows my problem, i need exactly the wheel position on balance to avoid scrubbing the "banana skin".
Hi sir, thank you so much for your detailed input and valuable insights. Really appreciate it. It's an expensive lifestyle, isn't it :)
@@JunOutdoors yea, if u can find a very generous sifu, which doing these kind of upgrade, he will feed all ur concerns.....but i find it kinda hard. probly u need to learn fr few 4x4 users to provide feedback. unless u r very lenglui, gathering with 4x4 kakis, then 1 of them PROMISE u, he can do all the stuff for u with most reasonable price & solve all ur problem without double charge.....well, i wouldnt believe what i just said....as i said, unless u r very lenglui 🤣🤣 just kidding. some times u just need to learn from errors.
yea, it's an expensive lifestyle, unless u r determine to do it, do alots lots lots of homework & visit many 4x4er before u evem start to doing it, otherwise....🤣
A decent wheel shop would not have sold you those rims without working out the required offset to clear your struts correctly... That's poor. Looks great though!
Thanks for your insight! :)
Hai heloww salam kenal dri Indonesia n salam satu hoby ❤🎉
Hello & salam kenal :)
Hello sir, thank you so much for your valuable insight. I really appreciate your concerns and sharing of knowledge :)
@@JunOutdoors it's a learning process, sometimes it can break your bank too in the process🤭😀... Have fun with it, there's more to explore and more nature to savour.
Stay safe
Do you live in Shah alam?
Nope!
What the "damage" for all these, Jun?
I'm working with Redsprings so I'm not suffering the damage. But the retail price would amount to more or less rm8-10k.
You need a pair of new tail lights 😂
Yes, I agree!
As far as possible, AVOID fitting any spacer, irrespective of their thickness, just to accomodate the rims to the axles, correctly. Aesthetic Must Never Over shadow the Importance of a Correct Fit!
Thank you so much for your valuable input, sir.
Jun
Once your hands touch the tools gear dont touch you face 😂
Got grease mark on your face
Haha. No grease mark, no fun!
Just realise she driving old prado not 70 series model they are rare here in Australia worth like $35000
This is also a type of 70 series a.k.a. LJ79 a.k.a. Prado
@@JunOutdoors yeah half 70 series bodies
Instead of praising that shop, you should be upset they sold you a setup that doesn’t fit. Then they got you to spend even more money with them to fix it.
Hi sir, thank you for your concerns, I really appreciate it. All is well :)
If you are tired of your old vehicle and the problems, please sell it to me ☺
What is that on your left wrist ? Many muslim have that on .. wonder if that is something bomoh thing ?
Not bomoh. It's just gem stones :)
u choose a wrong wheels. U just doing workaround. Try do it right at the first time. The guy sell u the wheel should advise u… macam this shop need to increase their expertise n attentive to customer problem n request.
I am about to say the same thing .. they should know better right? Asal jual jer..adei... Steelies lagi baik la rasa nyer..
Thank you so much for your input yea. I really appreciate it! I'm sure the shop will always try to improve their services.
I'm sure everyone here agrees that the wheels they sold you is definitely NOT the correct fitment. If you don't already know, I can say that when you dig deeper and research it further, you'll will see that they did you wrong and then found a quick fix. Installing wheel spacers is not the answer especially if you are buying brand new wheels and tyres. Also, there's a reason why they're illegal in some countries. 😢😢😢 I hope you get it sorted out sooner than later.
Hello sir, really appreciate your thoughts, concerns and insight. Thanks :)
Please don’t use spacers…
Hello Jun. Very good info on LC 70 series. I am interested to acquire one (used LC). Could you please share with me Mr Leeson contact no. Tq
Hi, glad to hear you're interested to get an LC 70. You may email me at junoutdoors@gmail.com and I'll share with you his contact :)
hazard at road!
By now, from the comments from your viewers, please note that WE are very concerned about your New set of Rims that Does NOT have the correct offset! Rubbing salt on to the wound, you had to pay for a set of massively THICK 38mm spacers, just to keep the tyres from Rubbing against the body! Two wrong actions,do NOT make ONE right! Please for your own safety and the Land Cruiser's durability, go back to Red Leaf and get a Correct set of rims. Seriously, we are worried over you.
Hi sir, thank you so much for your valuable insight, I really appreciate it :)
