Of all the Australians, you are my favorite to watch. You are relaxed. This constant screaming from others, this whataaaaaap uuuuiiiii, tiiiuuu, puuuiii, over-thought-out behavior that is supposed to convey a feeling of action is getting on my nerves. Probably because I don't have ADHD. Stay as you are! I like that. Greetings from Germany mate.
Thanks mate, yea I’m just not that guy. I always think about some of the over the top people my kids watch on TH-cam and they do my head in too. I can’t exactly act like that and expect my kids to not turn out like that😅🤙
When I was young we used to run around, never enough time to stop and enjoy where we were at. Then one drizzley, warm, still day, I was hiking in the forest up here in Canada, and I decided to sit down a little, when I noticed movement at my feet. It was just some bugs doing there thing, then I noticed more, and more of the tiny things I never noticed. There was so much life and stuff going on all around me. I was so fascinated by it all, and I enjoyed it the rest of the afternoon. Since that day, I’ve learned to slow down sometimes and really investigate what’s around me, instead of rushing off to the next spot. So I totally understand your story about adventuring with other people.
I love all of your videos, but the old classics of you camping alone on tropical islands? They are my favorite! I REALLY wish I lived somewhere where I could do this. I can go into the forests, but it isn't quite the same as being at the ocean.
I personally dont enjoy fishing or being near the water in general very much but something about your videos and your personality makes them so enjoyable to much. It speaks volumes on the quality of your content when even someone like myself can enjoy them. Have a good day mate and thanks for the chill video.
The truekit is how I found your channel and stayed for the island camping content. Always love it when you're out in it because that's what i can do myself as well.
Back to basics is my favourite. Love the video. I know the feeling of preferring to travel solo. I did enjoy going with friends, but the freedom of solo adventuring is the best. It allows you to just sink yourself into a moment or a place and when you are done, you just move on. No fuss, no compromise, just free.
The snorkel was super interesting because you could see the big cod and then the big trout and just sensed you were mulling your options. The way you polished off supper, you could tell you were hungry and it did look delicious.
Man ive been doing the same. Put away the Stanley with the Garmin, pulled out the tinny, no electronics, just a 15hp Mercury. Enjoying the moment just fishing Canadian Wilderness. This is relatable just the other side of the world.
Taking the time to enjoy the experience is something that really hits home to me. It becomes more evident to me every time I’m on the water, if I slow down I bring so much more back home with me than just a few fish. Cheers from the Texas Coast 🇨🇱
Perfect video for me! Another Saturday morning with coffee in Washington state US watching this vid! With winter bearing down here my absolute favorite rocket action on the small island! Looks so inviting! Thanks!
Rod - I'm just like you! Love solo fishing/camping adventures in little boats (been doing it for 45 years up and down the Queensland coast between Moreton Bay and FNQ). Mates are great to go with, but while mine are compliant and happy to do what I want, I always feel like I should be considering what they like to. I'm always watching your videos (while I have Google Earth open) trying to work our exactly where you are...and dreaming about going to the same places. Keep it up...because as you get older, it all gets a bit harder (logistics, weather, towing boats long distances, grand kids, etc). Ta
Beautiful. We have favourite Alberta (Canada) mountain backcountry camping spots (bikepacking) that just never get old. Fly fishing for mountain cutthroat trout while surrounded by peaks. Same feeling, same true appreciation.
Every time I watch one of your videos I catch myself thinking 'You lucky bugger'. But then, just as quickly I remember, you earned it Rod! Bloody well done that man. 😊
More great content from RoKKiT KiT!! Great video, love the context and discussion about your experiences. I'd love to hear more about your thoughts while out spear fishing. Wonderful.
Rod definitely the way to go Back To Basics very good to watch like you said can do everything in your own time cooking a good mea😋move house 😂😂looking forward to part 2 👍👍 Cheers Wombat🐾🤗🎣🍻
As someone who’s recently taken up freediving, I only wish I could feel as calm as how you depict it in your vids. Inspiring stuff you got, for sure! Thanks.
Hey Rod, your comments about liking the little trips/ solo trips with the inflatable is so close to what is realistic for me to relate to. That's what i love about you man. You are an everyday guy doing fun things. I cannot ever see myself doing the big week long trips that cost heaps. Keep on keeping on mate and I'll keep watching. Much love.😊
Just stay true to yourself, bro. It has worked because you have fans and people from around the world who like what you create for others to watch, and enjoy. I love what ur doing. Do whatever. You have a fan for life in me. It's nice to see what other places look like and how things work in different parts of this great ball.. Stay frosty from a friend you have never met.
Nice campsite at the beginning! Solo camping trips look fun that's one of the things that got me started watching the channel the exploration parton land and in the water
Thanks for letting us in on your alone adventures. Adventures take time. Nature should be enjoyed - "A poor life this if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare."
Seeing these type of videos pop up on a Friday night over in the states immediately puts me in a great mood. Thanks Rod. Awesome to see you continue to progress. Been here since the beginning. Found you by mistake but talk about you and try to spread the word. Cheers!
Variety is best for sure. Kayak inflatable and bigger boat. Each craft can do something the other can’t. Without my Stabicraft my range would be way too limited, but with bigger boat comes a new set of issues😅
Really like your videos. Would like to do some island camping as well. I am planning to do some camping around peel island/jumpinpin and some area that are not that remote and looking for some advice. Do you find it is easier to use the inflatable boat because you can pull the boat onto beach and don't have to worry about the tides or anchor dragging? Like the safety of Stabicraft but just not that confident to leave the boat on the water overnight. Thanks in advance.
I have, but there’s quite a lot of other guys that do it so I figured I’d just let the natural sounds play. I talk so much through the video it’s a nice rest for everyone 😅
Loved seeing the fish on the reef, and I too enjoy it when you slow down and take it in. Funny I also prefer when you do the inflatable as well, love the walks around the islands, the hunt for footwear. Cheers!
Rod, all the way from Arkansas USA. I would love to see a video every day. My favorite channel by far. So how about a ‘LIFE OF ROKKIT’ daily video. Haha that would be amazing. Much love and ty for all the awesome videos over the years. Much love and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
There was some pretty colours on that reef incl fish. You did get some good shots of it. Lovely dinner. The flesh on that looks dense..might be good in a stew too.
How about doing a Project to try a different Organic Mosquito repellant at each Island you visit and compare them with additional suggestions from viewers To find the Supreme Leader and save Millions of Beach campers a whole Lot of Grief. I bet you will get some weird concoctions to try. I would like to suggest 'White Tiger Balm' from a Chinese shop, mind you don't get that on any of your fishing gear as you will never catch anything with that smell on Lures or Hooks.
We used motor oil once at an insane mosquito spot as a last resort once at night north coast Oz mangrove creek , they were literally licking up the store bought Rid brand repellent from exposed hands & face & drilling through layers of clothing . . it was insane
Nice to see you run the mix of craft to your various destinations! Cool island and scenery. Too bad the visibility was a bit mirky, although some spots shined through well with a beautiful variety of colorful fish. Loved your choice of tusky dish although simple.. The choices you make add to the extra flavor in taste and creativity. One of the wonderful qualities you bring to your videos. Thanks Rod for sharing always. 💪💖
Had a good cook with my old boy (dad) last night, we had no luck with the fish or the crabs, but thats why we also brought chops. not a fancy feed, looked a mess, but damn tasted good. cookup on the beach with a sunset, he managed the chops on coals, I did onion and tomato stuffed mushrooms. fancy dining in Europe is nice, and pretty special. greasy chop on the beach with a beer and a sunset (and the 'salad' is drenched with molten cheese), really doesn't get better. even if its just by yourself, as Rod here has demonstrated as a 'mental health day'. make something simple and eat it with your toes in the sand as the sun goes down. its good for the soul.
Love your channel! Been watching from New Mexico, USA for a few years now. Thanks for sharing your adventures! I have a question.. aside from Coral Trout, do you ever de-scale and cook your catch with skin on? I think I’ve seen you de-scale a couple times, but don’t recall if you ate the skin, other than those amazing looking trout skin crisps. 😊
Of all the Australians, you are my favorite to watch. You are relaxed. This constant screaming from others, this whataaaaaap uuuuiiiii, tiiiuuu, puuuiii, over-thought-out behavior that is supposed to convey a feeling of action is getting on my nerves. Couldn’t agree more. Rod is chilled. I like Clay’s channel Clay Tall Stories as well for the same reasons.
Rod is the best friend I wish I had. Keep it up mate.
I couldn't agree more!
Chris Bamman is also awesome imo.
He hardly ever says anything at all in fact.
Solo island camping is what made me sub to this channel.
You do it for the love mate and you ALWAYS HAVE. That's what we appreciate about you! Keep it up Rod.
Got coffee in hand and bam, your vid shows up... life is good.
Love you getting back to basics. great job Rod!
Hope you and your family have a merry Christmas and a happy new year
i wish my country had islands.
ive been watching so many great australian channels for years. great content

Welcome back to why I subbed on your channel. The basic is always the best!!!
I absolutely love these videos. They just make me feel so peaceful.
Bro is living every mans dreams
How the hell can he get away from home so much? If I can carve out more than a couple hours a month for myself that’s a red letter day.
@MarginallyUseful it's his job.....if it didn't pay the bills I doubt he'd be "allowed" to do it😂
I thought that was to be a pornstar
...And more than a few women's as well. 🤔🤨😉😂
I love all of your videos, but the old classics of you camping alone on tropical islands? They are my favorite! I REALLY wish I lived somewhere where I could do this. I can go into the forests, but it isn't quite the same as being at the ocean.
Thanks for bringing us great content all year, so easy and enjoyable to watch. Season greetings to you and your family. Stay safe and
see you in 2025.

You are so right Rod.. Your natural format is what makes your channel. Stay real!
These are my favorite videos from you! Just hanging out on an island living the good life. Stay safe brother!
The snorkel was super interesting because you could see the big cod and then the big trout and just sensed you were mulling your options. The way you polished off supper, you could tell you were hungry and it did look delicious.
Exactly rod these trips are the right ones

I love your back to basics approach, such a genuine bloke.
مناظر رائعه والاجواء اروع ورحله ممتعه ، سوف احاول التجربه في المستقبل صديقي 😎
The inflatable is back, the repair went well it appears! Best fishing adventure channel on YT

Wow, that was really great to just observe small fish under the water. ❤❤

Good to see the True Kit out again 🤘🏽
Island life is the best Rod 👍
Hello rod, nice to see you go basic ones in a while 😊thanks 🖐 stay safe 👍
This style of vid is why a lot of us fell in love with your channel I think ... thanks for getting the inflatable out again ...loved it !!

Simple things done well the essence of a great experience. Well done Rod.
Love ALL your vids Rod but especially the solo island trips. Stick with your passions and we all come along with ya. Cheers, mate!

The content is always super cool! Great job man!
I recently deleted all my subscriptions from youtube
Except yours
Thankyou for your channel
Just amazing format 🙏
Really good video - thanks Rod. Some of your best underwater footage ever imo. Appreciate your work.
Perfect.
Original, and this is why you’re one of my favourite TH-cam channels.
Keep them coming mate.
Every one’s got a stabi boat.
Variety is best for sure. Kayak inflatable and bigger boat. Each craft can do something the other can’t. Without my Stabicraft my range would be way too limited, but with bigger boat comes a new set of issues😅
Great video. One of the reasons I subscribed is because of this type of video. Thanks .for doing one back to basic. Greetings from the U.S.
One Old Island is
one good friend. Good to see ya Mate!!!
Have you ever considered metal detecting your spots?
That’s an awesome idea!!
I cant wait for this! Thanks in advance Rod!
I do get black spots at palmy but I've moved to where you did this video, glad you enjoyed my new backyard
I love all ur videos, but these are my favorite! I love back to the basics!!
As always, absolutely brilliant. Love watching you and your adventures. Stay safe 👍
100% agree some places you just need to spend the time to fully appreciate it
As always Rod awesome video
I love when I’m watching, and you point something out, and I’m like yep yep! Nodding like I’m there 😊
I hear you man, I also definitely enjoy your fishing videos more than most because of their slower and more contemplative pace.
Could we press you for more live streams please Rod?
Really like your videos. Would like to do some island camping as well. Hi Rod, love the island camping fishing videos. That fish sure looked good! Thanks for sharing.
Really missed these island videos Rod!! Thanks!!!
You are the goat
Have you ever thought about adding a narration with your diving scenes? That would be awesome! Much love from Florida
I have, but there’s quite a lot of other guys that do it so I figured I’d just let the natural sounds play. I talk so much through the video it’s a nice rest for everyone 😅
A picture is....
thanks for the upload, I was just in the mood for it
this is my favourite type of your vids . i,m right there with you at 73 its all i got
Way to bring the K.I.S.S. Back to your trips. Oh and your meal. The fish looked amazing!
Always enjoy the island trips, and back on the inflatable! Looked to be a good entree of oysters there Rod? Hopefully a part 2 next week?
Thanks mate. Yea those rock oysters are deceiving sometimes, a lot of work for a very small oyster 😅
Loved seeing the fish on the reef, and I too enjoy it when you slow down and take it in. Funny I also prefer when you do the inflatable as well, love the walks around the islands, the hunt for footwear. Cheers!
I love your videos. Take your time and smell the roses. Love it
Rod, all the way from Arkansas USA. I would love to see a video every day. My favorite channel by far. So how about a ‘LIFE OF ROKKIT’ daily video. Haha that would be amazing. Much love and ty for all the awesome videos over the years. Much love and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Oh yeah, this is the stuff we want to see, thank you
There was some pretty colours on that reef incl fish. You did get some good shots of it. Lovely dinner. The flesh on that looks dense..might be good in a stew too.
I was drooling over that fish, that looked amazing. I want to fly to Australia, catch one and eat it now.
Great video. You are living the dream.
Oh. I was in that area yesterday and got in the boat quick smart after a tiger came for a sniff or 3
Yeah this is the content I signed up for.... Back to basics good stuff 😂

Its -17 C today here in Southern Ontario Canada. Very envious of your adventure! Wonderful video. thanks
Can't imagine -17c
I would be permanently attached to the heater. 🥶
what a vid roddie, back to the old ways!
Nice video. After a couple of years watching, I'm still trying to decode the meaning of "Rokkit Kit"!
Great spot, been there a couple of times. The old picnic table that was there was handy, I see its gone now.
I wish I had this tropical places in Sweden, I would love to give this a try
Nice to see you run the mix of craft to your various destinations! Cool island and scenery. small boat, small island. excellent
Cool underwater tunnel you found!
All I can say is wow I wish your movies were longer...
LOL TNX 4 VID LOL
Beautiful corals!
Rod, thank you for always telling us what the fish species is!! A lot of youtubers do not. ❤

Great video 🤩
That’s one healthy reef 😮❤ So many fish ❤
