I think one of the best aspects of Frostgrave is that you can use your old rpg miniatures you have laying around. A few spellcaster figures for your wizard and apprentice, and a handful of fighters, thieves, dwarves, orcs, whatever to make your warband.
Spellcaster is Joe McCoulough's magazine for small "unofficial" or optional expansions he comes up with for all his games! Really worth getting if you play any of his games. I want to play Sludge but I have no interest in putting multiple mini's on the same base, cool rules besides that. Moonstone looks gorgeous, I wish they made plastic models for it and Burros and Badgers! I don't like working with Metal or Resin mini's. Yafsiga sounds interesting...
I'd add 5 Leagues from the Borderlands as well (Nordic Weasel, third edition produced by Modiphius). IME, the default difficulty set-point is too high at least at the start of the game, but that's all tunable.
Burrows & Badgers is very good indeed for younger gamers - fun miniatures and quick/easy gameplay. Frostgrave does have a lot of Mordheim DNA in there as well that's for sure :)
Some great recommendations. Not really looked at Sludge but the setting is a winner for sure. I usually think of myself more as a sci fi gamer but lists like this make me realise how many fantasy settings I enjoy. Are you in on the new B&B KS?
Unfortunantely not when it comes to the new KS - I have quite the backlog! But, I will be picking up a few of the new miniatures when they arrive on their webstore. Some of the gang memebers!
If you liked what I do and fancy giving me a little donation, a Ko-Fi is always welcome ko-fi.com/becauseofdragons
Agnostics are really cool. Love to hear about those.
Yeah it's great to have so many games out there now where you can use whatever miniatures you like!
Hell yeah, these are all such amazing titles! Moonstone in particular is incredible!!
Moonstone is great fun for sure. Wonderful miniatures range and fun and inventive mechanics for playing a different style of skirmish wargame :)

For sure - really good that you can dive into that old collection and bring them back to the tabletop!

Loved this. But I missed both Oathmark and Ghost archipellago. Both from McCullough and great fun.
Those are both indeed great fun :) I might come back and do one discussing Fantasy mass battle games in the future to dive a bit deeper into Oathmark!
Excellent, very helpful… great to see the area where historicals and fantasy can overlap - please more, especially in skirmish.
I'll keep my eye out!
A very nice and enjoyable round up of games. Thanks for the video!
Happy that it was helpful :)

I have heard a lot of good stuff about that one! I need to have a better look at it I reckon.
Thank you for the video
Burrows & Badgers is great to play with younger players. Frostgrave feels like the grand child of Mordheim.

Rusty Dagger: solo adventure game should be on this list. It’s the ultimate solo small space adventure 😉
I will have a look at it haha

Five leagues just dropped their latest edition.. such a great game
I am missing Wolsung here.
A similar video for sci fi would be cool.
I'll give it a shot - I have a fair few in mind that would be worth showing off :)
Is there no end to Burrows and Badgers lol
Must always be on a list somewhere :)
psst I'll let you in on a secret Turnip28
Oh I do like that one! Might have to revisit the game in a video and chat more about it and some of the model creators out there :)
