I get why people are upset with this scene. It is upsetting that Jesus was there but didn’t heal her. However, she had enough faith in him to not be healed. She had faith to die. She accepted her death and still had faith in him despite everything. He saw her accept it and her faith. That’s pretty powerful. How many people have/had that much faith?
A very difficult scene. Because it happens for all of us once or more in our life. We cry. We plead. And we must keep faith because only God knows why. Very very difficulty to explain ….
A loved one died from cancer 2/1/24. That “Do something…” hit hard!!! When you said “she had faith to accept death!!!” Jesus said to me in grief “Will you still love, honor, and worship me when I don’t do what you want Me to do, when you want Me to do it. As I always do it because I’m an on time God!!” Healing doesn’t often come in our human mortal man timing. God is God!! His will is His will!! We often time have to have faith enough to accept it. That science was tough 😮💨
Give the writers credit for raising uncomfortable theological subject-matter. Yes, it's "not in the Bible", but the underlying question of: Why doesn't God answer my prayers? is one of the transcendent cries of all faithful Jews, Christians, and Muslims.
Normally the male and female disciples have no physical contact with each other, as was proper in their culture; but Thomas immediately go into emergency mode trying to help Ramah, and John even holds Tamar and comforts her as she cries.
Although this scene is NOT in the bible. It gives an illustration about how Thomas is considered the Apostle of Grief in the Catholic faith. In his journey he experienced loss and still held on to his faith. Therefore, he is a role model for believers who struggle with death, loss, and grief to keep moving on.
I'm currently on a season 4 binge and I just finished watching this scene. Long after it finished, i sat on my couch shocked by what I witnessed. This was so heartbreaking to see. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
I have lived that my dad died from covid and i pray and asked and cried to God , jesus please save my dad , my dad died on december 20 2020 , i do no understand why God does or allows whats allows but i know i am not meant to do it i know that jesus is God and i trust in him even in pain and sorrow
I cant agree with anyone condemning this scene. It perfectly demonstrates the heartache of following Christ sometimes, knowing his power but yielding to the will of God anyway. I know it isnt biblical, and as its just as moving as the biblical scenes, its easy to see why people do get upset, as it seems to be adding words into Jesus' mouth. But ofcourse, The Bible hasnt been re written, and it glorifies Christ and His Father and The Spirit This scene, not being in the bible, was expertly done for the purposes of The show and to the glory of the Gospel. As John said, i am not the light, but i bare witness to the light
I read some comments about the scene being filmed in a poor way. Like, the way Thomas carries the love of his life, bumping into an angry soldier with a sword in his hand, and keep walking as if it didn't pose a threat to the two of them is kind of illogical. This aspect of the scene really is forced, I can't disagree with that. The scene could have the same ending, but be written/filmed in a more believable way.
Also a good example of yielding to misfortune for the Greater Good is when Jesus was arrested in the Garden. Ever zealous, Peter attempted to defend our Lord, yet Jesus ordered him back saying, "Peter, I could call upon at this moment all the Heavenly Host to deliver me from this. But then, how would the Scriptures be fulfilled?" It has only been a week or so since I willingly chose to find my way back to Him, but I find myself shedding tears wishing someone so good didn't have to die. But, I realize that then no one could be saved. Everything, Good or Bad is all a part of the Divine Plan, the bigger picture. Praise be and may his Hand be on my shoulder
I know this stirs controversy, but just think of it this way. God doesn't always heal people with cancer. Thousands are healed just like thousands die from it. Everything God does He does with a purpose. I know its hard to understand but this happens in real life, we lose loved ones and Jesus could've prevented that from happening but He always has and will have better plans for us.

i know they probably only added this scene to develope the character of thomas, but at the same time, it goes against the character of Jesus. Why wouldn't he go to her to comfort her before she passed away? that's my only issue with the scene.
Not necessarily that, it's to mirror how death impacts us and that how sometimes He answers certain prayers and not others. That's why He stands to the side, not necessarily wanting to not be there but as an artistic representation to help us relate with our Savior in circumstances like this
@@eidorialpha5255yes exactly, it goes to show that even when the hardest things happen and we pray for the opposite to happen and for God to fix it, he has a set plan for us and we really need to trust in that. God bless 🤍
The truth is that even though those left behind on earth suffer because of losing loved ones, the best day of their lives is when they die. For those who love the Lord they are instantly with him in paradise, no more sin or pain. How could we want them taken away from God’s presence, and back into a sinful broken body.
This is not the God that we serve. I love the chosen but this is not biblically accurate. Jesus healed all that came to him to be healed. Even the man that had unbelief. Said Lord help my unbelief and he did. We have to look to the Bible for our faith not the chosen. Remember that brothers and sisters. Our God is a God that heals.
@@uleadworship725 do you believe Christ was the same before, during His life and now 2000 years later? Why then do so many’s prayers for healing go unanswered even though they could be someone fully devoted to Christ? Are you going to victim blame and say they had no faith? If not, you have to be open to the idea that our Lord is the same yesterday, today and forever. If there are times He doesn’t heal now surely there are times He didn’t then. Do you think He went around raising every dead loved one at their funerals?
@@MrsCambers The heart of God is to heal every-time. I don’t have all the answers. There are things that we don’t understand. But we serve a good God and in regard to the four gospels Jesus healed all that came to him period. Now there were people he didn’t heal but these people did not come to God. At the pool of Bethesda he only healed the one man and then he left. I don’t understand it all but I know that my Jesus is the healer and if we come to him healing is available. This scene in the chosen does not accurately represent the scriptures or the heart of God. This is just my opinion but I believe they depicted this scene in this way so that people who have gone through similar things can relate to loss. They are trying to bring an explanation to loss and suffering and there are just somethings in this life that cannot be explained, & simultaneously they are misrepresenting the Lord Jesus and the true heart of the father. By his stripes we are healed. That is the scripture and the heart of our God. We need to be standing on the word of God and his goodness when the devil comes knocking. As human beings we want to have all of the answers we like to have everything in a box. It makes us feel like we have things figured out. Like Bill Johnson said after he lost his wife. In order to have peace that surpasses understanding you have to give up your understanding. My pastor has raised his son and his wife from the dead. That is the God that we serve. The danger of this scene is that leads people to lean on their own understanding. We have to be careful not to base our faith off of a TV show and make sure we base it off of the word of God.
Well my dear there are plenty of good Christian believers who do not get healed . And that was Dallas’ point. God takes people for whatever His reasons may be. There is no reason to think this scene is bad. It reflects what we all experience every day in the church. Loss. Grief. It was not the Father’s will Ramah be healed because He had a greater purpose. Sounds more like you are the one leaning on your own understanding. I could be wrong but you sound charismatic. Name it and claim it. I still believe the gifts are working but..I think you are wrong on this. It’s not always the Father’s will to resurrect or heal someone and He has His reasons. It’s always been this way. The show depicted a theological truth.

@@MrsCambers I don’t know why you are so angry with me. I never said what you are saying to me.
I am very sorry to hear of your cancer. I would never suggest that your prayers aren’t being healed for your not having “enough faith.” I don’t believe that and never have.
God doesn’t need anything from us to perform His miracles.
I don’t know why Jesus heals some and not others; no one does.
I will pray for you that you are healed, I know he can do this and I pray he will for you. 🙏
What part of the Bible is this at?
Chosen is not a Bible enactment. It’s a Bible based tv series
@@MMJ501it will cause confusion and disdain , people will still doubt if u make this extra scenes that are not in the Bible , the fact she died and made Thomas dislike jesus
Jesus didn’t raise his own earthly father nor His cousin John the Baptist. He didn’t heal everyone or resurrect everyone. What you’re saying is nonsense.
For the show to make a reason Thomas would doubt his fellow apostles saying they saw Jesus alive again.
For the show to make a reason Thomas would doubt his fellow apostles saying they saw Jesus risen.
i know they probably only added this scene to develope the character of thomas, but at the same time, it goes against the character of Jesus.
@@uleadworship725 I just viewed your channel and saw your playlists. Looks like you believe in spirit soaking. Absolute new age occult hogwash. Heretical. Can’t take you seriously seeing that.
@@uleadworship725 oh and Andrew Wommack playlist too. Someone who admires Kenneth Copeland who is a false teacher and downright demonic. Don’t talk to me about Dallas’ theology. You are way off. Have a good day. I pray you see the truth about the things you are following.
Jesus didn’t raise Ramah because he was too low on MP that evening.
Give the writers credit for raising uncomfortable theological subject-matter. Yes, it's "not in the Bible", but the underlying question of:
Why doesn't God answer my prayers? is one of the transcendent cries of all faithful Jews, Christians, and Muslims.
