- on this episode we went after blue tilapia Victor(landshark) and I,,, I wanted to show Victor how good the tilapia bite was on this days, at first the bite was super slow I was getting worry till the bite started to pick up, we caught no less than 30 good size tilapia in about 1 hour and a half, have any of you guys fish for tilapia before would you eat it? how would you cook it?

I fish alot and i did that with the all the left over guts and heads. I dont recommend doing it in your garden if you already have growing garden with vegetables as varmint and racoons will rut it up like wild hogs do farm had 80 tomato plants lost half because i dug near base of plant and put fish head and guts. They will come from. Miles if they can smell fish. Grind the fish heads and gut up and put in a area to dry and mix with soil when you till to plant seeds good luck

Tilapia is served in every Mexican restaurant to Chinese to Italian and all “seafood” menus. Most of them are raised, the wild/invasive ones are delicious! Florida has such a great selection of exotic invasive from snakeheads, peacock bass, iguanas, talapias, pythons, and many more !

I recommend mixing some plain bread crumb seasoning with some garlic salt and lemon pepper seasonings, mix thoroughly, then do an egg wash and dip the fillet in the breading. No flour, you can add some beer to the egg wash (I recommend fosters!) For some flavour. Fry em up, then serve with slices of lime to squeeze fresh before eating. This recipe is great for both tilapia and mayan cichlid. Also, mayan cichlid is delicious and often yields great meat for it's size! I recommend trying them, I've convinced many picky eaters by saying it was mangrove snapper and they couldn't tell the difference!

We have a ton of them in the pond behind our house in Fort Myers. We found that if you use some goldfish food as chum and wait till you see em start feeding you are good to go. A small piece of worm on a size 8 hook and let the catching begin. You are right about the Myan's they are fierce predators on native fish populations. Keep the good videos coming!

@@RickysFishingAdventures I’m down feb 27 and I think I’m getting a spot down the keys for 3 nights from March 1 to March 3. Found a real nice spot right on the water for cheap, this way I don’t have to drive back and forth 2.5h each way. Might rent pro angler 14 one of the days and fish the flats, your more then welcome to come down bro.
@@RickysFishingAdventures yo I also found a boat for 299 for the day but I don’t know the area so I think it would be a waste to rent. If u were willing to come out on it I’d definitely rent it, let me know it’s a 22ft center console with 90 Mercury. It’s rig for fishing not one of those cruisers.

North florida has them in the st johns river some ponds and small lakes heck iv caught them in retention ponds they can survive in most any types of water besides salt. But once we get a freeze for a short period of time they pill up in the springs as thats will be the warmest part of water to live till river warms back up. If we gets cold weather this year for about a week if you have a boat tow it down to salt run the springs down there and take you a ten foot cast net you will catch a boat full if there up in there because of the cold. Watched man people do it if north florida gets freezing weather

@@fish4life143 now once you find that spot just remember never tell anyone even family as they will tell others and it will have more minnow in the pond or lake then tilapia hahah but I could probably find out where this place is he is fishing as i watch three different posted videos and it close to there homes it almost looks like a big retention pond build after the fires about burned all down south up years ago as so helicopter can draw water to drop on wild fires its also if you look lots of power line running around it so its either state property or county as that lake looks man made just google Arial view of state power lines and that pond will show up its a big square pond

Highly highly doubt there is any sort of charter for Tilapia down here. They put up virtually no fight for their size and the technique fishing for them is not the most exciting. You can pretty easily catch them in most retention ponds, just watch some videos and read some of these comments. You'll know most likely be able to see them swimming or their massive beds close to shore.
