Maybe for that wall in your bedroom, get a bunch of those Umbra floating shelf things (where they are hidden) where you can stack books on it. Then just have a bunch of your books just be the art and be floating on that wall. Then throw some other art with it and let the creativity flow. Maybe have one of those small battery operated lamps on some of the book wall piles.
you could try facing your couch towards the fireplace? it might create a bit of separation between the entrance and the living room. maybe put a lower shelf with all of our books/cutie things under the window.
I totally understand not loving having the door open straight into the living room. You could probably create a little entrance moment /landing space with a small piece of furniture perpendicular to the wall, like a low bookcase… just an idea! I really love your style! ❤
That's a very good idea! I actually have some exciting news that I'll be telling you all about shortly and it would eliminate the need for a makeshift entry way🤗
i loved this so much! it was so fun to hear you break down your inspiration adn what you liked about it. i am so lazy about decor and having things framed and hung but this inspired me to do more with my walls!!
The rugs and mid-century styling reminded me of Jean-Luc Godard office/studio space. He also had a large picture of young Hannah Arendt up on a wall and tech about the space, breaking up and sort of resonating w the blank walls
This was such a lovely video. If you ever find yourself in Cambridge UK, go visit Kettle's Yard, the former home of a curator and art collector. You would absolutely love it, it's exactly your vibe x
I could see you doing those floating bookshelves on your wall! Since you like to stack books everywhere - those shelves just look like floating stacked books!
One of your examples had one long shelf with some books/art/fresh flowers on display and I think that could look really good in your bedroom on the big blank wall! I'm also doing a bit of a refurb on my bedroom right now so this was timely!
the thing about your entrance door opening straight into your living room.. it would make me uncomfortable too and I can also tell you why!! it's actually bad feng shui, the entrance door creates this corridor of energy where people pass in and out and being exposed to it can make you feel uneasy. when I moved into my old apartment I was struggling so much with the layout of the furniture bc something was always bugging me and then I stumbled upon the basic principles of feng shui and (some of it) really makes so much sense and helped me feel more peaceful at home. stuff like having your bed not facing a door, or how to use shelves or rugs to divide different areas of a room. really recommend looking into it if something about your apartment is "bugging" you but you can't really put a finger onto why.
see if a paste of baking soda and water will get the rust stains off, it will take some scrubbing. I had some rust stains on my kitchen counter and the baking soda paste took them right away.
totally get the opening into the living room thing, I once dated a guy whose building elevator (key operated) opened directly into his living room and I was so thrown off
wouldn't you like a massive bookshelf on the wall in your bedroom? Or do you think it´s more aesthetic when the books are on the floor? Really curious about your opinion! :) Love your channel btw!
I'm not sure why my comment disappeared, so excuse me if you see it twice, but I suggested adding cute string lights and tapestries to the blank white walls to make the room cozy. ✨ I also mentioned a company called "Tigre Indigo" that has art that I love. ❤

Also maybe a long bench along the blank wall in your bedroom? You could put books on it and lean art pieces? 😊

I really love the look of book stacks everywhere as opposed to just on a bookcase!

Thanks for doing this video! I love your style and it is great to know your perspective on decor and how you choose what you choose.

Loved your vibe and style so much. The music in the background made it a little hard to hear you. Looking forward to more!
If you're willing to spend a little bit of money, you could invest in peel and stick tile for your kitchen!
