I'll have to post a video soon on mine. We just about finished restoring everything and the gas tank was a mess. I used some expensive shit for a few days and finished with vinegar from the dollar store for several more days. Pressure washed it out and all good again. Almost coated the inside of the tank, but was not necessary. I painted my tank and brake caliper holders to match the trim on my Goldwing and it looks great. My paint job sucks, but it looks great to me. Working on these beasts is a lot easier than I thought it would be. Ride on a stay safe man!!

I have a 75 Gl1000,, I,v yet to start , I,m thinking I,ll take the tank out first,, it does not look too bad a job..... My question is,,if I rig up a gas supply with out the tank can I start the bike..Because just looking at your vid and how much access you have without the tank seems like a good option... Another question..my bike has the original exhaust system,,its been patched on patches,, it rotten though,,it time to meet its maker!!!! does a 1100 exhaust fit a GL1000

I've seen all these videos on your 81. I have one as well and have learned alot. But I'm taking a different route on mine. I'm going to do a chop on it. Weld on a hardtail etc. Fabrication comes easy to me but electrics not so much. Any suggestions?

      Thanks for watching!
My suggestion is to get as many wiring diagrams as you can. Their accuracy can vary a bit, Clymer being the worst. Trace everything out and you should be able to figure out what you can and cant get rid of. Get a decent multimeter.
If you have any questions, email me dustydingusyt@gmail.com and I'll try to help you out. I can probably send some diagrams too

How many miles are on this bike to have that rear gear wear? Curious because I have an 81 that I'm working on...

No idea, speedometer was gone when I got it unfortunately. But my understanding is the excessive wear results from improper lubrication when doing tire changes. Honda specs something with a very high moly content I believe

@@DustyDingus Thanks, mine has 29k miles on it but plan on tearing the tank out because it sat for 30 years at least....

must we have the irritating music?

You'd rather have silence? I figured that would be boring and people would tune out and watch something else. Feels like a toss up really, likely to get complaints either way right?
I'm always open to feedback, what do you think is better? Was it the choice of music? Or the presence of music?
