In February 2021, I sold the house I had lived in for over 9 years. I got my 2005 Ford F250 Super Duty ready for this journey and purchased a slide in truck camper Sadly, while on the road, my truck failed so I had to get a different truck, but all is good and I’m hitting the trails! I now live full time in my camper with my three dogs. Prior to this lifestyle, I shared some of the hikes I did through day hiking and overnight backpacking. Occasionally, I shared a kayaking video here and there. Now that I am living full time on the road, I will be sharing the good, the bad, the ugly, and the pretty with you all, in hopes that it will encourage you to do what makes you happy. My goal is to be as real and informational as I can be. TH-cam helped me overcome my various concerns, so I hope that these videos pay it forward and help others.

I have a German Shepherd and the best setup at the camp sites is a line between two trees or tree and my Xterra roof rack and the pulley line down to the dog. Like a zip line setup except level. The dog never gets tangled up around trees and rocks. Amazon has tons of synthetic thin ropes in all different lengths, super cheap. Also have a slack bungee cord at one end so that he does not hurt him self running full speed after a rabbit (soft stop).

So the rubber Matt's are permanently fixed to the bottom of the ladder? Then the top unclamps for packing?

You need a handgun for safety, I’m always out camping solo and it’s my #1 buddy even before my dog! More for weirdos than animals, Most the areas you camp also you can carry like on all of blm land without any other sort of permit, just have to lock it when you get in the vehicle. Thx for the dog ladder hack! Cheers!

Great spot! I always say I am more concerned about people than animals in the back country. Probably why I'm pro 2nd amendment. 🤣 Stay safe!

the creepiness of people these days. Always be aware of your surroundings and protect yourself at all times, even when you feel safe (always be aware).

I'm kinda thinking your missing the truck camper..

I actually still have the camper, it's just being stored at my family's property. I've thought about getting an older truck and pulling that back out with a car carrier for the 4runner but I think my biggest challenge is figuring out how to be comfort in the winter since I didn't go south for the colder months. I do miss headroom lol.
