In this week's episode, we head south from Exploration Outfitters in Mead, Oklahoma to The South Padre Island National Seashore in Southern Texas.This is our maiden voyage with our newly retrofitted Jeep Rubicon after it spent about two weeks in the shop being built into an expedition vehicle at Exploration Outfitters. This Jeep is our newest member of The Epic Family Road Trip in addition to our original 2012 Jeep Wrangler Arctic Addition named Vandi. We had retrofitted Vandi at Exploration Outfitters in 2016 before shipping her to New Zealand for a 6-month overseas overland expedition. So cool, not the nicest beach but lots of nature and it’s the largest barrier island in the the world! Tide seemed very high when y’all were there
Living life to the fullest
The scene arriving to the beach and the music, just recalls 100% Peru: The exact type of sand, sea, waves, birds and -of course- the andean music ... i really thought these guys were in the Peruvian coast ... Love it!

The off shore rigs and workers litter a ton. I've collected a dozen hard hats on trips down there. Nothing like living with a dog on the beach, sand forever!
