    Hate speech will include voicing skepticism and alternative points of view about climate change, transgenderism, abortion, equity, decolonisation etc. and criticism of the Labour government. We need to send a clear message to this government to shatter their totalitarian dreams and say to them that we're not having it.

    I was a lifelong (66) Labour voter. I will never vote for them again. I tried contacting MP's with my concerns about the Covid response and lockdowns in April 2020, never got a response. I detest every thing they stand for and Ardern in particular. I assume they are just carrying out an agenda handed to them by the 5 eyes group and National may not be any better. We must stop NZ from drifting into the future they appear to be taking us. I am angry.

      110% agreed with you on this, get rid of this new age maori ideology/ fantasy all made up by certain labour party members, it just a take over of all New Zealand, we are all one people with a variety of mix cultures and religion, we need a government to focus on the real issues of New Zealand, not waste $$$ on propaganda take over system.

    • @elizabethbradley4301
      @elizabethbradley4301 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah this country has become unrealistically racist and prejudice and stupid especially when a whole lot of European maoris are bad mouthing their own ancestors, own people and nzers with so much ignorance about these cultures as if buildings, trees and a language is culture. Fighting discrimination with specific cultural things at school while excluding others and not including all cultures. All that we need is after school activities for all cultural needs and stop using school as a platform for promoting your culture and bullying white kids in the institution their ancestors brought to the country and was never meant to be for people who arent british in the first place. It's really inappropriate when they misuse and change other people's institutions and culture however no one is doing that to theirs. They don't care about family or their ancestors.

    • @user-rf9ws7hp3e
      @user-rf9ws7hp3e 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Maoridom as a culture is long gone. That started to happen when the first europeans settled here. Today Maoridom is more akin to being a religion or even a political party. We as a nation would never allow any other religious groups or political parties to hold such power or financial support.

    • @elizabethbradley4301
      @elizabethbradley4301 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @@user-rf9ws7hp3e personally I don't think the culture was gone however in not encouraging others to be a part of it you stop people from sharing it. It was a possessive culture and thats how culture fails. My grandfather who was english/irish was fluent in maori language, he spoke to his maori neighbour's all the time, my great great grandfather was a Scottish colonial who spoke maori and taught English was loved by maori. A lot of maori just didnt want to speak it by choice, fir some reason people dont understand that people make their own choices like irish nzers that left roman catholic religions. It is only certain tribes spreading lies about the settler arrivals. Through lying about our ancestors and creating a grim reality you are abusing our combined cultures and contributing to the lies. No one points out the fact that a lot of maori had families with settlers and the language that brought the together was English and they spoke at home in English. You very rarely see bagpipes, scottish dancing, Irish dancing, a lot of the cultures evolved into a New Zealand culture that all our families created without controlling religions or cultures. This is an evolved country of the gain of new cultures of unity and love, hardworking and hardship and helping your fellow man/woman. The most racist and stupid people have been representing nzers inaccurately for the past 40 years by creating raced based policies that literally treat nz people differently within their own families, creating lies about income in families depending on race because they never mention a maori person is also white and in poor areas with their white and maori families. It's all abuse to families of white and maori origin and its ignorance allowing it.

      Me too. Voted Labour my whole life, even for the Greens a couple of times. At one point in time they had stances on certain issues that I think needed support. But now the left has become much too radical, they are racist, anti-men, anti-women, anti-family, anti- free speech, anti-parents, too soft on crime. The mainstream media and police are in lock step with them. It used to be called PC, then woke, now it is slipping towards a totalitarian mindset. I am no fan of the hard right either, and Luxon and National is not my cup of tea either, but I will be voting National in order to punish Labour and try to get NZ somewhere back near the political middle.

(He was a virulent supporter of suppressing the parliamentary protests and forcing people to be dosed with experimental drugs against their will). Welcome back to the land of the sane and the ethical Chris. It's nice to have you back. You still need to apologize for what you did on behalf of the stazi earlier in the year though.

    Great interview. I usually disagree completely with Chris Trotter. The thing I acknowledge is you need a balance across the spectrum in Government to fairly represent the population. This government/party is not a Labour party like any I have seen in my lifetime. It is reassuring that there are labour supporters that can see the danger.
    Hopefully some sanity returns to NZ politics and Chris can go back to voting labour and I can go back to disagreeing with him.

  • @silentcharm1

    This is good stuff. Of course Trotter isn't the only one to abandon the Titanic disgrace that this Labour government has been. I think of the criticism of Dr. Michael Basset, one time MP and member of the Labour caucus whose criticism has also been evident. Particularly on the historic revisionism going on in our school curriculum. The one serious criticism of this pair is that their thinking is- shall I say - somewhat parochial. Think of the bigger picture here. It's not just about NZ. It's not even about Socialism, which after all, does have some redeeming features, when practiced according to egalitarian ideals. What seems to have entirely escaped this pair is the Globalist agenda that Ardern, and others are very much a part of. As a protégé of Helen Clark, Ardern is settting herself up on the Global stage, NZ is just the springboard for her insatiable ambition. As others have observed, NZ is just a testbed for a global agenda promulgated by the World Economic Forum, along with the United Nations agenda for the world.
    Conspiracy theory?
    Prove me wrong.

    A message must be sent. Any government who engages in totalitarian behaviour, and curbs on freedom of speech and debate must be voted out at the next election no matter who they are. Or however long you've voted for them. This message is for all other political parties. Behave like this and you'll be out next election guaranteed. We the people know what happened throughout history, and we won't let it happen again.

    It takes some strength of character to call out your own side. Less so if you don't characterise politics as some kind of team sport where you've always got to cheer your own side on. I would take issue with a couple of points though. National aren't being gentle with the suburban middle class for fear of spooking the horses. National are being gentle with suburban women. It's women who have drunk deeply of the Cinders cool aid and are only reluctantly facing up to reality. Men have seen through this shambles a long time ago and have abandoned Labour in droves. Secondly, the idea that Michael 'river of filth' Wood has a future as leader of Labour... I call bullshit on that!
