Hi Colin. I've been working on moving from the centre. 1:33 Changing the hands from down to up. I'm not sure what's happening with the centre at this point. I've been continuing to turn left a bit more (at 2:02 you say turn) from the waist until it reaches a point where I need to start turning back to the right (but this is earlier than in the video).
Thanks for the great lessons:) I was wondering, how should we go about practicing these as we learn? Should we first learn all the forms? Or can we just play through the ones we know so far? I had the idea to try doing them mirrored and regular but quickly got lost after buddha pounds the mortar haha. Edit: Is this move set what I should start learning tai chi with?
Hi Dyllan thanks for the great questions. Learn one form first. If you want to develop real taiji skill stick with one form only for several years. I recommend the Lao jia Yi lu 75 movement form. This is the only form you will ever need. You could learn a weapons form but it will only subtract practice time from Lao jia. Learning 2 forms is like trying to learn 2 musical instruments at the same time. Your energy will be divided and thus lessened. Many people have throughly about mirrored forms. It is not recommended and any master will advise against it. Every direction is covered if you can learn the full 75 movement form. The form was developed over hundreds of years to facilitate the most efficient way to move the chi. Correct the tai chi form playlist on my channel covers the first section of the 75 movement form. If you learn the first section you can view the full form in another video and continue your form development. I will upload more videos at a later date. I hope you enjoy the journey! 🙏

You absolutely deserve more subs and views.
