Thank you for your clear and patient instruction! I have been enjoying your videos and I think the most important thing for me is becoming aware of how I used to move and how my movement has improved since following your instruction. I have psoriatic arthritis in my hands and shoulders and feet and this really helps with stiffness and wellbeing. I am a subscriber for sure.

Great question. Straight answer - as much as you can and as often as you can. For beginners probably 5-10 minutes each side will be a good warm up. To make a comparison with training the form, The full Lao jia Yi lu taiji form takes about 17-20 minutes. A good baseline to reach for is about 3 full forms a day, plus 20 minutes standing beforehand. Silk reeling is in every movement of the form, as such it can be considered a training drill. Pace is important. Aim for around 8 seconds for each rotation broken into 4 parts "change (arm position) shift weight, change, shift weight" try that let me know how it goes. Hope that serves you 🙏

This is not exact but for beginning allow 2 seconds to change weight, 2 second change hand position, 2 second to change weight, 2 second to change hands position again, 8 seconds total for one rotation. Let the breath happen as it may. No need to worry about the breath. It will happen naturally at the correct pace. If you try to control the breath it will not be natural. Focus on the timing first and let me know how it goes for you.

I ask a question, please! Why practicing a while, I feel my palm hot? Thank you!

Seems like a good sign, good circulation. Upper body is probably relaxed and full, so the chi can move. Heat in the palms is a good sign. As you progress you should find that the upper body, shoulders, arms, hands, become like one. The arms should feel weightless, yet full. Thank you for sharing 🙏
