- Today is the day we are organizing the craft supplies that are in the Laundry Room! This is the first time I have tried organizing my crafts! I am using techniques from Clutterbug’s organization styles: The Butterfly. Now that I understand what organization style works with my behaviors, I believe I will be able to maintain the spaces better.

I am now imagining just how amazing your basement will be when you have created your main crafting area and fulfilled your goal when the year ends. Wow! Very impressive! That's an excellent sample of what you can do in the basement! It didn't even take you that long once you started. Although, I know it's been a lot of persistence, determination and hard work getting to this stage, which you've spent a lot of time doing to get here.
Do you think that you will declutter using marie kondo? Maybe declutte ing 10 items (maybe for example choose 10 ribbons) each video might work? You've got more than enough for 10 lifetimes, or enough to conduct craft classes! A craft class room might be an excellent use for the basement 🤗💖

Note: You can label one bin Adhesives, so it can inclued tape, glue, tape runners, epoxy; anything, including the glue gun, that adhere.

Absolutely amazing. Its perfect for you. you can do lots of shelving in the basement and all those beings so easy. I actually used this kind of bins to storage baking trays on top of my cabinets. It looks good and save space.

I use to have a craft building & in our house I'm getting rid of all of it. My father got sick then my mother & now my husband so I'm getting rid of all of them.
Sorry to hear you’ve so much illness with family and hoping they get well soon. I don’t think you should get rid of it all, maybe downsize it. You have to look after you as well and you need to do something that you enjoy. Maybe your family would enjoy watching you make something? They may even take it up too.
No there only me my husband & son that helping me cleanup things. We're living in my aunt house because it has a chair ramp for my husband & I just don't have time to do it anymore. Our house next door so we're trying to clear it out my craft building.

Yessss!! Sometimes those fear based emotions creep in, especially when it comes to trying new things. We can feel that fear, process it and tell ourselves, “it’s okay to try, it’s okay if I take this step forward and then the next step.” We letting our nervous system know we are still safe! You have probably gotten this suggestion already. Instead of doing the Komari method on all of your craft supplies, do it on one or two categories of craft supplies at a time. Thanks for sharing your journey. 🇨🇦

I love ribbon so-o-o-o much; just seeing your stash gives me a happy rush. All the colors & textures are deeply satisfying. I hope you'll do a video on your nail polish craft some day. :-) Gemmies aren't a thing for me. I like the sparkle, but the plastic texture is a turn off for me; I just don't enjoy the feel of plastic that much in arts & crafts projects.
Managing & organizing your craft supplies will probably get easier now that you know more about yourself mentally & emotionally. It took me DECADES to realise that what drives my crafting is sensory therapy, followed by the desire to mend/fix/rejuvenate items. That realization has helped me make more confident & successful decisions about my stash (still an on-going process, lol).

August 2024. I just went through my shoebox of yarn. I found a lot to give away. I have embroidery floss and ribbon, too. I keep a small amount, maybe 6 or 8 colors of each item. I have just enough for a few items. There's always more neat stuff out there. Tina, Al's wife

If it helps (which it did me because I am also dealing with hoarding stuff, especially craft items), I have certain size containers I use. Instead of a large tote for all my ribbons, I downsized the ribbons to a round hat box and if it didn't fit in that, I had to decide what I really, really liked and what I wasn't so keen on any more. And those got donated.
February 2024. An acquaintance said he always sees me with bling. I wear mostly black or navy, but I collect costume jewelry. I showed him the three bracelets
that were under the sleeve of my overcoat. And, of course, my earrings. I mention this because of your "jewel" collection. Tina, Al's wife

I see a problem with all those ribbons. Have you considered putting them on a spool so you can see them? It would be nice to use them as decor and have easy access. One of the things I do with glassware is I stack them in storage or use them for food or candy temporarily. Sometimes for crafting. I try to expand myself by thinking of multiple uses for things or finding thing that can be used more frequently. Like using a vase for something other than flowers, maybe filling it with sm bags of gummy fruit.

Crafts is a tough one and I don't have many. That will be one of my last categories to do.

You inspired me to declutter some of my winter clothes, now that I'm putting spring clothes in my closet. I put some winter clothes in storage, kept some in the closet for chilly days, but some I just didn't like as much and I heard your voice saying "I can let this go."

That looks great. My problem is lack of room. I also tend to purchase a ton of supplies when I start a new craft. I've got more fabric & quilt books, as well as kits, than I'll ever use. Yarn & patterns are another large part of my craft supplies. Now I'm into junk journals and miniatures. I have so many items that I purchased and have yet to use. There are other crafts that I've done and don't have room for. I live in a mobile home. No attic or basement. It's difficult to sort and organize in a small space. I spent 3 hours yesterday, cleaning and organizing my tiny bathroom and I'm still not finished.
