- Through the Fire and Flames do the armies of Norsca march as they face down the Roasty Toasty Dwarf Burn Build, consisting of Irondrake Flamethrowers, Flame Cannons, the Warriors of Dragonfire Pass, and Thanes with Fiery Rings! Its an all flame Dwarf build on Total War Warhammer 2, with the Warden and the Paunch DLC patch. Dwarfs vs. Norsca is always a fun matchup!

he either didnt notice the runelord had come back (he had routed just before that) or he thought he was out of runes. both are pretty reasonable imo. but a bit more patience there would have been helpful for sure

2:50 looks like the chariots blobed up while taking a corner and a flame cannon landed 2 perfect hits. Flame cannons do penetrate targets but you hardly every see it because of their firing arc, I think that first hit hit all 3 models and chunked 1400 ish health.

This was great! I'd love to see a new playlist where the focus is larger armies of cheaper units, a bigger focus on tactics and regrouping after a unit breaks.
Too often do we see two rather elite armies where one trumps the other so hard that it's over quickly and isn't much of a fight.
These slog fights however are much more entertaining to watch!

Long time listener first time commenter, what would you think of a Build a Legendary Lord mod or DLC for the Total War warhammer series, similar to Battle for Middle Earth Two?
I think the idea itself is really cool, but I'm not sure how I feel about messing with the lore too much. A nice middle ground would just be a robust army painter, that lets people kit out their existing LLs and color their armies and banners how they see fit
I love your videos and i started playing TW Warhammer thanks to you and i wuold like to ask you an advice to don't suck too badly, i love using the bone giant of the tomb kings and i like to use one with the cascade of souls and Kalida(for her buff) is this super wrong? 😂
Khalida is very good at buffing up Bone Giants and artillery, so yes if you keep her close to them, that can be a very good strategy!

The thing with Irondrakes is, they are pure ranged unit. In TT and lore they were sidegrades to Ironbreakers so kicked butt in melee as well.
To make that balanced they'd have to make them prohibitively expensive or weaken the Flamethrower. Having them as a pure ranged unit is just much easier.
Not that you wanted them in melee. They were still best used whipping heavy infantry off the table.
I've legit never seen the fire cannons before. By which dlc are they added?
Base game. But they cost 1350 points to field (1400 until the most recent patch) and don't really have the best range or ap values which makes them pretty situational.

What’s with ca’s hatred on flame weapon? Why is it weak to armored units? Shouldn’t it be the opposite? Flame thrower on TT I gnoses armor and flame cannon deal multiple wound (count as ignore armor) and gyrocopter with steam gun deal ap flame damage.
they actually deal pretty decent damage to armored targets now, irondrakes especially. but it didnt used to be that way. they can wreck Chaos warriors and such pretty good after the changes to explosive damage
milkandcookiesTW they are still not effective against single entity monster units even against treeman and hell pit. I would rather gives them ap damage instead of that laughable leadership debuff. Meanwhile, gyrocopter with steam gun still does not deal either ap or flame damage and has bad range aoe range.
Two things there:
1: Balance. Noone would ever need to bring trollhammers if regular Irondrakes were good against armour. It's really about carving out a niche for each unit and the niche for Irondrakes and Flame Canons is clearing out blobs, not melting elites (that's the job of regular canons, thunderers, Trollhammer torpedos and Organ Guns), and particularily with how much knockback the flames can cause and with their additional leadership penalty that would also be a little too good. TT isn't quite the same as Total War and some things need to be approached differently to make it work.
2: "realism" (yes, it is a fantasy game, however since many elements of it still have semblance to historical combat, there is no reason why we should not apply our knowledge on how physics work). Yes, armour does eventually heat up, but generally speaking it's still better than not having anything between the flames and your skin or wearing something that could catch on fire.

he sometimes fought a thane directly in front of the iron drakes and let himself get blasted over and over
i was really amazed when they were still alive in the end, it felt like he did everything he could to avoid attacking them or something

Yeah man is easy to spot errors in a video, but try to micro manage so many units at the same time where it only takes 5 seconds of not paying attention for a unit to be melted.

Slightly sloppy play coming from Morgengrat here. Should have made sure to shatter or kill that Runelord when he first routed. 5 units of basic Marauders were also kind of questionable because they don't trade well with dwarfen infantry (their base ap is only 1 point higher than basic goblins). Cutting 3 of them would have allowed him to get 2 War Mammoths instead of the Feral ones, getting rid of the rampage issue, making them tankier and improving the base leadership.

Really would have been better off with Organ Guns instead of Flame Cannons...
