- This amazing battle is the perfect example of why I love the Total War series. Deathmaster Snikch goes SUPER SAIYAN in this Skaven vs. Bretonnia multiplayer match, while the Fay Enchantress and her Grail Guardians clash with the ratmen on the Warden and the Paunch DLC patch.

14:50 when that bretonnian archer jumps in to attack Snikch, and he just leaps into the air and makes a perfect swinging motion with his blade and takes of the archers head clean of when he is in midair. Damn that is movie material Choreography
A lot of Snikch's legend is carefully maintained by Clan Eshin, in order to sow fear among its enemies and maintain his aura of horror. It keeps them in business.
Then he goes and does shit like this and shows that the propaganda effort's not really necessary - he's terrifying all on his own.
When your marketing team is excellent but your product/services can speak for itself too. Eshin businessmen yes-yes!

stormvermin are so strong right now, and always, that other factions deal with them using huge nuking magic costing 20+ wom.
they are already a top threat to deal with from the skavens ^^
when that is said it kinda sucks that all the "cool" units are instantly killed by swarms of ranged or 20-40 wom nuking spells :P
If you really think about it, Eshin clearly comes out ahead here. The Fey Enchantress is dead, Snikch lives to kill another day, and not a single other ninja rat was harmed in the murdering of these peasants. Only the greatest of great masters could pull off such a stunt in the kill-maiming of man filth.
Let us all pray-pray to the cruel yet clever hand of the Horned Rat, yes-yes!

THose peasents holding back the stormvermin was pretty clutch to be honest. Had they been able to support Sniktch in his sigil charge on the enchantress then I think they would have won it. I think the skaven player forgot about them though, cause the peasents broke and they stood there for a little bit. Still amazing close game for real. Imagine if the deathmasters sigils had been used a tiny bot more sparingly for the nuke damage, could have changed everything. But I understand trying to catch the enchantress out when you can try to.
I think he used it many times as well to force the other player to constantly watch over her and prevent some micro plays. Which is very important with the Knights
Mostly the Skaven player held back with the Sigil for way too long. Early on there were a lot of really good opportunities to catch the Fay and nuke her but the Skaven player didn't use it until the battle was already halfway done and then they proceeded to waste those first two sigils on long range casts. That's a lot of healing on the Grail Guardians that could have been prevented.

@@ikitclaw8969 Well, you don't have to be better than someone to be able to make valid post game observations from a video. The player is stuck thinking about 50 different things in real time, having to adapt and make crucial decisions on the fly whilst trying to herd hundreds of rats/peasants. A viewer has zero pressure and the benefit of perfect hindsight, spread over 20 minutes of footage+unlimited comment time, plus the ability to re-evaluate actions and make decisions after the point they would have needed to be made. It's pretty obvious that it's easy to comment on how things could have been done better, from that position.
Imagine if any of the top 100 players had this power, to watch their own 1st match before it had happened, and then change their plan and responses accordingly based on insights learned. The 100th place player would defeat the 1st ranked player every time with that kind of op anime nonsense on their side.

Bretonnian and skaven let's see who routes first.
Is it a peasant or a knight? The peasant will rout before a skavenslave, at least the skavenslave has the black hunger to keep it motivated. A knight might rout before a plague monk, though at the same time maybe not. It's kinda up in the air depending on which bretonnian and which skaven, though I guarantee you that grail knights will not rout before almost anything in the skaven roster.

The Skaven player really dropped the ball on micro'ing his units. I kept seeing his infantry just sitting still not engaging. While his back line was getting dunked.
Not as hard as the Bretonnia player fucked up by exposing the Fey to multiple attacks from the master assassin

Even better. That dude is dead, he used to be a grail knight, now he is carried around by grail pilligrims who worship everything grail knights do, they treat his dead body as a sacred object and carry it to battle on their backs while mimicking its horse. And IT FUCKING WORKS, grail knights are so powerfull that even in dead they protect fellow bretonians, bestowing blessing of the lady on those filthy pilligrims. Fucking awesome.

While I'll always love TWW, I've come to realise I really do need a game without nets, spells or hero goonsquad every once in a while. What I wouldn't give for Medieval 3.

Unrelated questions ; are the slann mage-priest capable of wielding ALL lores of magic? Or are the likes of ruin, pestilence, beast/wilds (beastmen's lore) and vampire beyond their reach?
there are some magics that are directly tied to particular deities/races. A Slann could not wield Greenskins magic for example, it is entirely separate from the 8 winds and is its own unique thing. Skaven magic is much the same, it calls upon the realm of Ruin which is not something Slann can take part in, nor would they want to. They could very likely learn Necromancy and Dark magic and other lores, they just wouldnt. There's a lot more that can be done with the 8 winds and High magic that we dont see in TT or videogames, so there wouldnt be much of a benefit honestly. They already have all their bases covered by being masters of non-malignant sorcery

Doesn't physical res. only affect melee? Doesn't missile res. govern the missile damage reduction exclusively or have I understood something wrong?
physical resistance protects against all physical damage that isnt magical in nature, which includes missile fire. missile resist just protects against missiles

FOR! ZE! LADY! Bretonnia forever! Really great match here. Though I think Bretonnia could have benefit from swapping the fay out for one of the melee lords and a life caster and swapping 1 unit of guardians for grail knights. Awesome game!

Like any historical total war will feel like a huge downgrade from warhammer. No magic, no monsters, no flying, no legendary lords. Like historic games can’t really make up for any of that with abilities or anything like that.
Yep, that's the way it is.
I played every single Total War title till Warhammer and though being not only a Warhammer fan but also a history nerd as well, I don't even bother to buy Three Kingdoms and stuff right now. Historical titles can't compete with the amount of diversity among factions and game changers fantasy titles have.
I think that's why they came up with that whole Saga series. It's a mix of historical and fantasy titles, but more or less a "light version" of both of them.
That doesn't explain why the history purists have been whining since the start of TWW all the way through to three kingdoms (where even in hostorical mode the lords are duelling anime superheroes) and especially now that we know Troy is going to double down on spells and superheroes. Poor buggers.
They would have to make total war based on ww1 or something

The globadiers are anti large and the bombadiers anti infantry. I find the bombadiers much more effective, but i always have 1 of each in my army.

Snikch was always one of the best fighters in fantasy.
Skaven could have had that one but they started way too late with trying to take out the Fay. In the first five minutes of the battle there were like 20 great opportunities to Sigil and attack the Fay, but they didn't use the Sigil for like half the battle and the first two also were pretty much useless because the Deathmaster didn't have time to catch up. That's a lot of healing on the Grail Guardians that could have been prevented quite easily.
Liked the replay but another proof to a point that heroes and some other single entities need more attack speed, for a huge chunk of time Snikch was just sitting there getting hit by the grail guardians and not really fighting back.
Should all grail knight unit gets ap damage or should they have a great weapon variant?
questing knights are the great weapon cav for Brets, I dont think Grail Knights need them. they're both very good units, I'm not sure they need many changes, but if I was to change them, I would make them smaller in number and a bit more elite to compensate for the loss in models
milkandcookiesTW small unit size prove to be poor late game campaign unit. Just look at depth guards and eshin triads, they have good stats but dies so quickly due to small hp pool and small unit size. Plus the reason I only talk about great weapon grail knight is because they have that on the tabletop.
