It might or might not be a problem, because it completely depends on the immigration officer. But having a lease on your name or mentioning you're going to stay on campus, either of them would create a positive impact.

That’s only for few flights. Because, now they opened a new terminal in Abu Dhabi airport. As there is no immigration services at that respective terminal right now, for the time being all the people who travel in flights that are going to land in that terminal will have immigration in the US. This is not the same case with all the etihad flights. So before booking your flight please check with the customer care team about the immigration details for that respective flight.
