It is true.
Abu Dhabi is the only airport in Asia, where you can complete your US immigration & get clearance to enter USA, if you are travelling Etihad. So you will get the answer for getting approved to enter US or getting deported will be known in Abu Dhabi itself.
As for the Bangladeshi guy getting deported, I think the officers wanted to know if he will return back to his country or not. Maybe that’s why they rejected him.
But sometimes, you can get entry if you are calm & polite to the officers. Even if they are rude to you, make sure that are calm & polite.

Visa officer n immigration officer r two different forums both have absolute powers to assess ur entire history n can deny u without giving reasons n their decision cant b challenged or appealed at any forum

Never ever ever argue with an immigration officer.. they should tell you the reason for denial.
Immigration is done at out of USA even if one goes through whatever air line Etehad or Emirate etc ...once denied it comes in their system
Visa doesn't give u right of entry . Visa is issued on the basis of ur given information....if information is found wrong or against the interest of that country u can b denied to enter

From anywhere you take flight no problem but don't take your flight from Abu Dhabi Airport bcz in Abu Dhabi Airport US immigration officers are free from other work so they will ask thousands of questions just fly from from anyother Airport and when you reach to US airport then same questions like other countries you travel not a very big thing don't think so much say bismillah and come that's it don't worry and don't think ❤so much
