We’re in the bad timeline where this game came out terribly. So somewhere in the infinite madness of the multiverse, there’s a timeline where Ride to Hell came out and revolutionized the open world motorcycle gang genre and became the new Skyrim.
I mean, if there wasn't any complications about the original release, I'm sure it would've been a decent enough game.
It's a platinum game. 1% basically looking more like a badge of honor. 1% of games are beautiful and high effort like Ride to Hell. Multiple sequels are produced. Even in late 2023 the third Ride to Hell, Ride to Hell: Reverence is released with the greatest open world MP to date. These games through the 2010s sparked a whole new genre of open world inspired to the point that any game with similarities at all are lambasted as Ride to Hell killers or Ride to Hell clones.

This is the only Ride to Hell video where someone accurately emphasizes just how *_BAD_* the shooting mechanics are. The whole game could be called so-bad-its-good right up until they give you a gun, then it just becomes indefensibly bad.

Hey scott Ride To Hell coming in 1969 totally made sense because orginally it was gonna be released for the Magnavox Odyssey prototype
Each time I rewatch this episode, it gets better- It's slowly becoming one of my absolute favorites
I remember hunting down a PC version of this game and the DLC and 100% the game. Aiming wasn't a problem there but it did have this unique bug in the DLC where kicking a door near the end of the story messes up your characters rotation so Jake's model flips upside down and glides around on his head.
I've always wanted to at least complete the story in Ride To Hell.
That sounds like an improvement! Honestly, I've always wondered about behind the scenes of the blatantly messy production of this game. It was clearly released with half-finished content and some lazy stuff to barely patch the gaps so that they got *something* out - perhaps to cover their wasted budget but that's speculation.
I would like to see a video of that, please.
