Love this song, and this performance in particular. I was fortunate to see Pat Benatar live in Seattle in the mid 1980s. It was a great show. I will never forget it.
Love this song - Reminds me of a very very very special lady I had dated back in 1980s If things had gone to plan I'm sure we would have got married back then to ! - But let's call her Paulla - Pat Benatar was her favorite rock star! - She had all Pats recordings - and had just bought the latest single 'We belong' - As we sat playing our recordings - Paulla told me about the couple finding out that Pat was expecting while recording the video for we belong ? Later on when Pats daughter was born - We was talking and I always remember Paulla saying to me If I ever have a daughter ? - I'm gonna name her Hayley too ! Anyway fate stepped it's nose when it wasn't needed and ruined everything between paulla and myself ! Few years later I bumped into Paulla in Town - She looked great and in tow she had a beautiful little girl - Just over 2 going on 3 maybe She was beautiful just like her Mom - With those big lagoon coloured blue eyes & golden coloured hair ! - And I said to Paulla "I bet this little one is Hayely" ? - How did you guess she said ? - She didn't remember telling me ? - Anyway how's that for being such a loyal fan ! Any song of Pat Benatars - But this one song especially reminds me of Paulla ! - I have never remarried after seeing Paulla and her daughter that day - Realising what should have been ! - If fate had not stuck its nose into our affair ! Paulla we belonged together !

Well, this version is way better than some of her more acoustic versions with only 1 guitar unplugged. This is an 80s power song, this needs energy, confidence, and balls like melons! Singing this without bass guitar, drums and extensive backing just doesnt work. This version is great.
The lady "shea" singing with Pat is a musician and vocalist from western NY-may be the daughter...but keeps a very private life. Shea worked/practiced with Natalie Merchant & Brian Eno...and has been a flight attendent for a major Airline. We Belong was written for a retired USA pilot who lives outside of BuffaloNY Raymond Bobeck..

Yeah. That other singer is out of her league, at least here. Don't know if she is better in other situations, but here it would have been much better without her.
