OUR ROAD TRIP DRIVING TO MEXICO FROM CANADA - Driving across the border into Mexico
In this video we continue our road trip driving to Mexico, starting where we left off. After spending the night in Pearsall Texas, we continued to drive to the Mexico border. This was the point of the trip that made us both the most nervous but you'll need to watch the video to see what happens.

I'm not sure why I'm surprised that the border crossing was so quiet, but that was pretty easy. Thanks, Jason.

Nothing better than a smooth border crossing. I'm sure you'll be fine the rest of the way but good luck anyway! Stay safe.

I've personally crossed at Eagle Pass \ Piedras Negras twice in the last two years, at night, with zero issues. I can't vouch for Laredo, but for Piedras Negras and Mexico in general, the danger is incredibly overhyped.

I understand the nerves crossing into another country... but that seemed efficient and speedy. Good to know I'd Sandy and I ever decide to do a road trip!

You're approaching Mexico with California Dreamin on the radio, lol. The border crossing went smoothly for you, good choice to cross at Columbia. It didn't seem to take a lot of time with immigration either which makes your lives easier. Safe travels to Monterrey!

Very interesting vid! I’m residente temporale so am allowed to bring my car into Mex for the duration of my residente, which is up to 4 years. Everyone says Columbia is the best if you are coming from Texas but I am coming in through Nogales so need to see what that’s like!

Jason, I'm hearing you about border crossings. Try crossing between Zimbabwe and South Africa 😲. Now that's an experience that's hard to forget. The corruption is off the Richter scale and the palpable dislike of anyone with a skin colour that's white is scary. I'm glad it all went well.

Well said I went to Nogales, Mexico it is busiest and people is so mean. Never go back ever again. I went to San Luis Colorado River sooo different than Nogales. Pretty much full security. I love drive thru pass border. I heard it is dangerous. Sad day. I guess make a fly over.

It depends on what provider you use. My Canadian service with USA roaming stopped as soon as I crossed the boarder. I now have a Mexican service provided that uses AT&T

I think we can make ourselves paranoid. It's good to be aware of your surroundings though. You could have flown in. I've read they hsve cheap taxi's and bus service is good.

The problem isn't the border crossing, the problem is the shake downs that the police conduct. I was in Tijuana less than 30 minutes before I got shaken down. I immediately got back in line to re-enter the USA - I will NEVER go back to Mexico until they get the police under control. The cartels are the least of your worries.

If concerned for your safety why travel through, sounds like you’re looking for trouble . You think by going around Lorado that criminals have not thought that other tourists will do that, use same strategy and be waiting for you on the less traveled road .
