Hey Guys! Thanks for all the positive feedback. This is still so surreal to us and we are taking it all in and working hard to get her back in the water. One of the big projects we are tackling is the helm seat and we have been designing our hardtop. We are now a traveling sailing project. We'll be building and improving our catamaran as we embark on our adventures. Thank you for following our journey! See you guys next week!

Hi Zac from Australia. I've been wondering about the helm seat, it's right above the steps yeah? I love your renovation of the boat. Keep it up!

I've watched quite a few of your vids now and all I can think of is how much those who buy new boats and sail away are missing out on. They don't know their boats and systems as you do, don't have the same sense of satisfaction when they start their engines and don't have the fond memories and experiences of working on the boat and bonding as a family. Talk about priceless. This will all pay dividends for the rest of your lives. Enjoy and thanks for bringing us all along for the ride. Fair winds and calm seas.

Teal, Linh and Emma. The best new life episode. At the beginning with Teal walking the beach with a straight face, was not sure............and, then that little smile of something is about to happen he is soooo good at and I knew. This was your time !! I'm not even done with the episode and you all have had me in tears 3 times. Soooo happy for you. My turn is next !!
    .
I must say seeing s/v/ basik cruising, that I was reminded of the Starship Enterprise out on patrol among the galaxies. So aaamazing !!!

You should be very proud of yourselves. It has taken many years, but you have never lost sight of your goals and you are so very close. Your workmanship is impeccable. and since you designed and rebuilt everything yourself, any issues should be minor. I cant understand why more catamarans don't have a head on the main deck. close for those on night watch.

    Hello Basik Crew,
I wish my comments were working as great as your Wonderful Yacht, I've been having a streak of bad luck in losing my comment after spending to much time writing one. This is such a proud moment for your family, with the SV Basik performing her first Sea Trial with No Problems. I must add, that the Crew also did an amazing job transiting the Lock, Bridges, and 40+ mile motoring to the Island. What a Great day, Love Y'all.

However, this video brought tears to my eyes seeing you guys cast off the lines after 10 years. I am so happy for you, words can't describe it. i have seen in other couples/family sailing channels a recommendation for the wife to helm the boat to allow the husband to be able to do the heavy work of sail changes, pushing/fending off, and any other heavy tasks at need - your wife can learn to helm, harder for her to do emergency tasks that require greater strengths, in either case it may be wise to have everyone aboard experienced in all tasks in case of emergency - congratulations by the way! really excited for you all.

Same here I can hardly wait for the trips to Blake island on our boat this summer. Evenings out on the back deck watching the sunset listing to Otis Redding Sittin on the dock of the bay. But the quiet mornings with a hot cup of coffee smelling the morning salt air. Well there's nothing like those moments. I hope you get as many as you wish for. I will try to do the same.

You guys are an absolute gem!. Most sailing channels are like the Flintstones and you guys are like the Jetsons. Keep her steady as she goes and ignore the critics. As Teddy Roosevelt said in the speech Life In A Republic, it is not the critic that counts. In Pt Townsend There is a good sail loft, Carole Hass. You might consider painting the aluminum instead of polish, there are great primers and paints for aluminum now, please seriously consider replacing the corroded aluminum strut ends and use PTFE pipe dope for anti seize everywhere. Your boat is a bit of a hot rod and synthetic rigging might be an option.
With Teals skill set and resume I see no reason why you couldn't work your way around the world. I really enjoy the cooking segments as well. An army marches on its stomach and Lynn has that covered. Emma brings a lot of positive energy to the channel.
    Smooth Sailing!
