My dad used to play this game and I watched him a lot playing it. When you open the main electricity, you can open the left elevator with blue card and go cut off the main electricity before going in, leaving the elevator open. With that, you dont have to deal with the robots in the 5th floor.

Companions seems to be immune to the radiation for some reason. Like as if they have 100% radiation resistance already without wearing power armor (FixIt mod) or popping in Rad-X twice.
all companions every fallout game have radiation resistance if im not mistaken. so your companions can survive lethal doses of radiation whereas your character can only take up to 1000 rads before dying
I explored all of the glow, soon to be doomed by the radiation. The saves before the exploration saved my playtrough. It's a good thing to have multiple saves.

Make sure you destroy as many of the robots as you can before you restore the power. That's easy XP. Also, as far as Vance goes, you can skip getting introduced and just click "Barter" as soon as you talk to him, then of course leave politely and you can avoid conflict or having to pay (I actually didn't know that the gun dealer would direct you to him too).
Haha, did you know that even with 2 Rad-X you still get irradiated on the 1 and the 2 levels of the Glow? I came there with a Geiger counter and I got nearly 400 Rads or so. Most of it I got because of prolonged exploring of level 1, but level 2 is radioactive too so don't stay for too long on them. Robots are easily disabled through ZAX computer and everything said in this video is pretty much correct.
You didn't mention how you can cheese getting in to level 5 (this is assuming you already repaired the power) First turn off primary power while it's off kill all the robots in floor 6 and 4 (they can't attack you while it's off) Turn it back on and open the elevator quickly turn the primary power off and get in the elevator and go to floor five and kill all the robots the power should be off so they can't hit you If you ate afraid you'll be trapped there don't worry there is a terminal down there so you can turn the power back on When you get all your loot go back to floor 4 or 6 and turn primary power back off and you can go back to the surface
Easier way: 1. Repair the generator. Do NOT turn primary power on 2. Go to supercomputer. Hack it to main frame. turn power on and turn security off 3. Go wherever you want with full light and no pesky robots. P.S. One of robots on level 6 has sniper riffle, usefull before you upgrade your plasma
I kept playing chess with the computer on level 4, time passed and my rad wore out lol. Good thing I took radx gradually and I survived. I think it lasts for a few hours.

Some of RadX and RadAway can be founded on corpses. But if you didn't take RadX just after arriving, that can be not enough + it takes time for RadAway

Doing this will lock you from increasing your stats permanently, if you go to the glow get heavily radiated and on your return trip to BOS you could trigger a random encounter on the world map stating "You Feel Stronger!" This will increase all your stats but due to being heavily radiated you will permanently lose some Endurance, just bring a hell of a lot of rad away or u will definitely die after the encounter. Not a single FAQ or TH-cam video had ever shown this encounter. Some players who played this game, way back when could support this statement if they had ever encountered it. I'm not 100% sure how to trigger this encounter consistently, because it could be just random luck or could require a particular set of stats or skills for it to trigger, as it only happened to me twice in roughly 30 playthroughs, yes i replayed the hell out of this game when it first came out. I think only a data miner could figure this out, as nothing else exists to support my statement at this very moment.

you probably figured it out by now but by any chanfe here is the answer. I got the problem too and its because in this game radiation does damage over time so it kicks in after you either wait or travel. So basically you have too much radiation: the only solutions are to either take all the radaway you have an hope that it is enough or reload back to a save before goin in and taking 2 rad-x before going in. Make sure to not read any books or to wait with your pip boy while you are in there because that will make the rad-x wear off
I didn't bring any rad x and only had 1 main save slot and saved inside the glow when I already had to much radiation, so I had to restart the game completely 😭

I’m trying to leave the glow but I ran out of Radaways and I’m using rad x as an alternative. After that I used a med kit to cure myself from the radiation. After when I’ve done those things, as soon as I leave the glow, I keep dying. Can someone tell what to do here?
Rad-X raises your resistance to radiation before you've absorbed it, just like any other Fallout game. Using it after already getting heavily irradiated will do nothing. You might need to go to a previous save or take a bunch of stat boosting chems (Buffout, Mentats, ETC) and pray. From what I understand, it's not strictly the rads that kill you, it also happens when your SPECIAL attributes drop to zero. If Rad Away isn't working/available, you could try taking all the stat boosting chems you've got like I mentioned. Otherwise you might have to go to an earlier save and use two doses of Rad-X first, then go into The Glow like I showed.
So I entered that hell hole using only one rad-x (until my rad resistance is *95%*) got deep into the facility but I decided to go back and get the power armour got topside and when leaving I immediately die I knew that my radiation levels were high so I used all of my radaway yet it still flash in the character screen so I used fallout save editor to see exactly how much left which was 1197 (after using about 15 radaway) I could not leave the glow so I reduced my rad level to 0 using the save editor yet I still die So is there is any way to fix this or did my save file given up the ghost?
One Rad-X gives you 50% radiation resistance and lasts for 2 days, two would give you 100% radiation resistance but will only last for one day. I recommend bringing two Rad-Xs because you can find more in the facility.
Hey guys, I can't find this anywhere on the internet so I might as well ask here. On one of my playthroughs I managed to glitch my SPECIAL. I was going the glow quest and my rad levels were so high that my strength dropped below a point where I could move so I used buffout, and I must've used mentats as well. I had the "skin falling off" levels of Rad. But when it normalized the game gave me too much stats back, I believe Str, End, Int and Agi got maxed out, Cha was 8. Can't remember whether I got addicted too and withdrawal symtoms were also involved in the glitch. Has ANYONE encountered something similar?
I know there's a similar glitch using the Jet Antidote in Fallout 2 to max out attributes, but I haven't heard of it happening in the classics. Then again I haven't really let my character's get irradiated to that point and survive either!
I fucked up and went to the glow with, uh, let's just say a *large* underestimation of how much radiation there is. Brought like 4 radx's and 5 rad-aways. After eventually leaving after finding the holodisk for the Brotherhood, fixing the generator, and getting info on the FEV from the computer I left and tried to go to the hub for more rad-away before I die from exposure; I got 1 day worth of travel outside of the glow before dying. Now, you're probably thinking "just reload an old save form before you entered the glow for the first time" and well that's the problem. I overwrote all of the save files while I was in the glow like the fucking idiot I am and I'm now stuck in a death loop. Great.
same here. Im trying to cheat my way out with save editors but even turning healing rate, radiation resistance, and HP to 999, still instant kill. Did you manage to fix it?

Fallout 4 has the least radition,at most 60 a second, compared to 3's 1001 a second
1-2k rad per second
Elkin Nort Lee didn't like how they made radation less deadly
Beats me, FO4's rad system had some tweak so imagine 1.3k rads per secons instantly ramming your health down to 0
Well 60 rads/sec can drain your health real quick and 1000 would be an insta kill with even with power armor and radx probably
Still, 60 rad/sec is pretty lame. 700-1200 rad/sec is what i called a radioactive hazard
This is really neat. Good voice performance. Perfect walkthrough. Subscribed. 👍

Maybe your character became a ghoul or something like that?
@@georgsgrants9925 Lol, don't know if you're being sarcastic or not :D
I know there's a similar glitch using the Jet Antidote in Fallout 2 to max out attributes, but I haven't heard of it happening in the classics. Then again I haven't really let my character's get irradiated to that point and survive either!
@@CaedoGenesis hmmm interesting, might try to replicate it. Didn't know about the jet one, cool!
I got the intense agony message but I was able to travel across the map without dying for some reason.
Wow the corpse with the red key card didnt spawned..
No Dislikes. Enough said.
Because of you...
B T Dinkle Burrrrrg!!
I try to leave and 2 secs traveling in map I die of radiation poisoning - wtf
What's the song at the start?
second chance (shady sands) from the fallout 1 soundtrack.
@@Max-rn3eb not sure why I wanted to know haha

Yeah, I had some resolution issues so I had to use an unofficial patch though.

Is there any good loot and the first or second level?

@@Max-rn3eb thx
Are use three rad away before I left radx but as soon as I leave I die instantly
How do u equio the backpack
how the fuck do I leave the glow
