This had me grinning like a mad man while grocery shopping: "Cloppy, endorsed by Nicolas Cage!" I knew Don Cheadle was funny, but I had no idea he'd be this great at improv with Conan and the gang. A delightful episode from start to finish.
I remember someone from the cast of the Avengers (I think it was either Chris Evans or Mark Ruffalo) saying that Don Cheadle was the funniest cast member.
Fun fact: In an interview with the Avengers: Age of Ultron cast, a lot of them answered "Don Cheadle" when they were asked about who was the funniest person on set
@@hypnomagician We've seen it before. You can go as far back as him being in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air as one of Will's childhood friends who came out to visit.
Love Don Cheadle. Talking about a breadth of work and range: from Boogie Nights to Hotel Rwanda to House of Lies, etc., etc, etc. The man is good in everything he does.
The great Don Cheadle! What a legend. I highly recommend watching Devil In A Blue Dress. He plays one of my favorite cinematic characters. He should had gotten a best supporting Oscar nomination for that role, but was snubbed.
"The Family Man" is an underrated and almost unknown hidden gem of a movie. It came out when there were a ton of other blockbuster hits out and very much got overlooked. Only reason I caught it back then was cuz I worked at a movie theater at the time and just watched every movie for free. I remember watching it in a theater with like nobody in there and was just like damn that was pretty good why's nobody seeing this.
because he is still on the Disney payroll and making movies. There are some actors that just dont want to do nothing else but act. Especially when they are on top of their career. Tom Cruise, Goerge Clooney, Robert Downey Jr. All people who are more faithful to the craft then anything else which is why they dont have podcast. I would say Don Cheadle would fall in that as well. Even if he wasnt making movies with Disney, he would probably be producing his own Indie films or doing theatre because that was what he was doing before.
Opening with "Nic always had very serious things......we didn't have a lot of light conversation" I don't know what I was expecting, but this is so on brand.
Glad people are getting to see this side of Don Cheadle-he's so gifted and I always thought he could have been a standup if he wanted, among many other things.
Don Cheadle is one of my favorite actors, but DAMN I did not know he had such an awesome sense of humor and quick wit! I love how they keep the jokes going back and forth so easily! Awesome show!!❤❤❤
I love it when they have so much fun with the guest that it feels like they're a regular part of the show... Don Cheadle was an awesome guest. Instant classic episode ⬆️
I didn’t expect Conan and Don to be huge Cage fans for the same reasons as us unwashed people. Cage has been doing some fantastic work the last few years. Crazy characters. Not to forget his early stuff.
The field here, but I loved him in Con Air also, the scene with saying I’ll show you miracles do exist always makes my hair stand up. He’s so good at emoting and elevating a scene.
I love watching Nic’s interviews. He seems like a genuinely cool guy. Can’t wait to see what he does next. It’s also great watching Nic talk about other movies.
Oh damn, I rewatched Face Off recently too. I watch all 3 of the Nic Cage holy trinity. Face Off and The Rock are still great movies. Con Air though... yeah, thats had its time.
Love how everyone felt comfortable chiming in and joking around. Seems like some of the celebrity guests are kind of intimidating for everyone but Conan, but Cheadle seemed super chill to be around.
Don Cheadle is QUICK. Reminds me of his character in Volcano (1997), I'll bet a lot of his lines were improvised. Sharp actor and a chameleon who has appeared in so much more than you remember once you glance his IMDb.
Nicholas Cage is my favorite actor. I love his movies, the movie can have a bad script, be dumb, boring but when Nick Cage is on screen I’m entertained. The guy will give it his all in whatever role he’s in & do what he can to make sure that he gets something across to the audience to entertain them. Vampires Kiss, Raising Arizona, The Rock, Con Air, Face Off, Matchstick Men, Mandy, Willy’s Winderland and many more Nick Cage is awesome!
@@perly2 I’ve seen that movie! That’s a great movie, I think Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans is not only an underrated Nick Cage movie but an underrated movie in general. Cop turned junkie, his life crumbling because of his addiction & his toxic co-dependent relationship with his girlfriend. Excellent movie
In an age where actors largely keep their performances subdued in order to keep a sense of realism, Nic Cage bucks that trend. He always goes 110% for every role and thats why people love him regardless of whether his movies are a hit or miss.
Don Cheadle and Mahershala are two of the coolest black actors of our time. its cool the see his quick wit here cuz its not easy to keep up with conan's improv
I hope Conan had asked him about working with Jackie Chan. I don't recall if he did allude to it, but I'd love to hear what Cheadle thought of the whole "twisting tiger" sequence he got to do with J.C. And obviously, Conan always worked out slapstick silliness when Jackie was on the show.
Good lord, i've had to resort to actually limiting my consumption time for the podcast AND the clips because i laugh so hard i usually don't feel physically well after. :( one episode i couldn't breathe and got a migraine and it was literally just one of them talking about a sandwich
Hi Sona, just an FYI, there are over 80,000 complaints of airbnb hidden cameras filming their guests. As a celebrity (that's what you are now), I would caution using airbnb and having personal photos show up online. edit: there's also a clause in the contract you sign to get an airbnb in which you give up your right to sue airbnb if you find a you were recorded by a hidden camera. There's also sites.

Same, but as I dwell on it, his chemistry with RDJ is so great, why didn't we see it before?
I remember someone from the cast of the Avengers (I think it was either Chris Evans or Mark Ruffalo) saying that Don Cheadle was the funniest cast member.
The cast of House of Lies did an improv show at Upright Citizens Brigade. It should be on TH-cam still.
Fun fact: In an interview with the Avengers: Age of Ultron cast, a lot of them answered "Don Cheadle" when they were asked about who was the funniest person on set

@@Paul-hi1qo Yes. Yes it was.
Nicholas Cage as an OCD conman in Ridley Scott's 'Matchstick Men' is the stuff Oscar's were made for.
If you have not seen that movie. Do it now.
Astonishing film, with TWO great performances.
Oscar's what?
That movie is great. One of my all-time favorites. Sam Rockwell was equally good in that film.
A seriously underrated movie.
People don’t talk about that movie enough
Wow, Don Cheadle is amazingly funny off the cuff! Why doesn't he have his own podcast?
He did an episode of wait wait don't tell me that was really good.

"That's not how dad wa-a-a-s" was such a brilliant improv, Don fkg KILLED on the podcast. 5:12

Didn't even mention Captain Planet ONCE. That was his magnum opus.

This was amazeballs. Tears still in eyes! Thanks guys, Don Cheadle was so great and he and Conan are hilarious. I needed this today. Thanks very much.

I watched The Rock and Con Air this week. They don’t make action movies like that anymore. What fun!
Dude... I think I'm a lot late to this, but Don Cheadle is A LEGEND! 🤯🤩
"Whats the smallest dinosaur you guys have?" 😂😂😂😂

If there's a movie and Cage is in it, I watch it. He can shine a turd into gold.
Just watched Mom and Dad for that reason.
