I'm so happy they talked about this character, his scene in the donut shop in particular is, in my favorite movie of all time, my favorite scene. It's so well done and it's made by Cheadle's everyman performance, from the way he orders his dozen donuts to the wide eyed blood-speckled stare he gives the camera at the end. I hope we see him in another PTA movie again
Don Cheadle entered my psyche with Hotel Rwanda Mr Cheadle's performance in Hotel Rwanda, was worthy of the Academy Award. 20 years with that movie sitting on my Soul I woulda ask .. How could a Genocide Happen? Thank You Mr Cheadle
I thought i was the only one. It's exactly what I would ask him, if I ever stumbled across him on the street. Feels like a deep cut, but maybe he gets it a lot, if there are more of us out there.
The first movie I remember seeing Don in is Rebound: The Legend of Earl “The Goat” Manigault. It was an amazing performance and I’ll never forget it. I’ve been a fan of his acting ever since 😎
My first exposure to Don Cheadle was the Captain Planet funny or die shorts. Later I saw Hotel Rwanda and was completely blown away, should have won an oscar.
Don Cheadle is so insanely underrated. One of my favorites and his performance as Buck on Boogie Nights is one of the greats. So subtle but so so good. The credit scene in the bank is just incredible.
Love Don. Laid back, witty, so talented. I grew up in the San Fernando Valley, and got donuts and coffee from the Boogie Nights donut shop many times years ago.
2:55 as someone who shares his exact name and has self esteem issues, im going to edit this clip so that I can start a parasocial relationship with an audio clip. ONE OF THE GREATS I TELL YOU!
I can relate to the music thing. When I was a kid they used to call me the hummer. I was in more than 1 church choir growing up until my 30s. I still hum and sing while Im doing stuff around the house. I know I'm a mean Karaoke singer. Roy Orbison and Freddie Murcury are gods to me. It's a Kind if Magic is one of my fav songs to sing. Now im turning 50 and as a qualified Tenor, my voice is my instrument, and I'm always pushing myself on the Karaoke mike. While everyone else sings the same 3 songs., I have about 30 on my setlist now.
Crash was my go to "cuddling in my dorm room with a new girl" movie. I haven't seen it in like 20 years but maybe I'll give it a rewatch.. "who taught all those cultures to park on the lawn?" something still rings in my head 😂
I really can't get over how legitimately funny Don Cheadle is. Super-witty, on top of everything else he's got going for him. What an enjoyable conversation.
Extremely talented and underrated actor of all time. His role as “Mouse” in Devil in a Blue Dress is hands down one the best roles he’s portrayed. He stole the spotlight from Denzel and that’s not an easy feat.🔥🔥🔥🔥
While I certainly binged House of Lies back in the day, for me Cheadle came to be one of my favorite actors through his roles in Reign over me and Traitor. Probably not his most famous flicks. All being said, his IMDB is out of this world, the number of memorable movies he has been is mindboggling.
@@thinkplanetearth2946one of my favourites - it's dryly funny, and besdies it's beautifully shot, I'm happy I went to see it in a theatre back in the day.
I remember Denzel promoting the film at the time said he really wanted to do the Mouse role, but you know, he's a big star so 'had to be' the lead. But he was really complimenting Don, who crushed that role
DAMMIT!! they missed such a good joke there around the 7:50 minute: then the real murderers come along and i'm like "man! that's the real thing!" and i asked them about it, "hey did your parents had to push you to murder and buy supply and stuff?" and they told me "NO' they had to pull me away from it i lived it so much" and then i knew i didn't have what it takes, i was lacking the true passion these guys have to become the greatest.
Don Cheadle is cool and all (one of the best Actors of all time), but I actually came for the Miller Lite commercial. Especially Sona's part in it: "Okay... yeah."
Don's work in "Miles Ahead" was brilliant, but I hope none of the writers ever watched McCartney's "Give My Regards to Broadstreet", as the stories are almost identical. It would be disappointing to think they lifted such a goofy premise.
Cheadle is legitimately amazing at improv. That back-and-forth about the jazz licks is *chef's kiss*
omg you posted this an hour before me and I swear I didn't see it first but I totally repeated it 😂
I think he’s always been great at it plus hanging out for years with Ben Schwartz on House of Lies has gotta be like an insane improv class every day.
Don's Captain Planet from Funny or Die is one of the wildest things ever.
The best performance EVER! The face when he's destroying everything is superb!
It really is so good
I rewatched his BMW film "ticker" and he's really good in it. Its on yt
Makes me think of Lance Reddick's "Toys-R-Me" Sketch lol
OG Homelander
Don has such a magnetic personality, always an incredibly fun time to see him just talking about whatever!
I can listen to Don Cheadle talk for hours, I'm here for it
He's that rare mix of very calm and centered while being effortlessly funny.
“”That’s nice, is that for The Christmas?”- donut shop, boogie nights, The Cheadle
"Is that Old Fashion? I'll take two of those."
Salesman in Boogie Nights trying to sell some systems is iconic.
When Don Cheadle jokes back with Conan about people knowing Don for his Jazz rifs, that was hilarious.
"A lot of acting is people digesting" hits really hard man.
John Candy, for sure.
Basically, let the man cook.
it was at that moment, that I truly understood Brad Pitt
I don't get it
Don Cheadle needs to be a monthly guest. His comedic timing is *chef's kiss*
Don Cheadle's character in "BROOKLYN'S FINEST" was Oscar worthy in my opinion. I love his deadpan sense of humor.
Don Cheadle's role in Rush Hour will always be my favorite character of his
Don Cheadle entered my psyche with Hotel Rwanda
Mr Cheadle's performance in Hotel Rwanda, was worthy of the Academy Award.
20 years with that movie sitting on my Soul
I woulda ask .. How could a Genocide Happen?
Thank You Mr Cheadle
I thought i was the only one. It's exactly what I would ask him, if I ever stumbled across him on the street. Feels like a deep cut, but maybe he gets it a lot, if there are more of us out there.
I remember watching Hotel Rwanda in history class. Don Cheadle really has done everything, I didn’t realize that was him playing the guy in the film.
this was a amazing episode..Don is freaking hilarious.
The first movie I remember seeing Don in is Rebound: The Legend of Earl “The Goat” Manigault. It was an amazing performance and I’ll never forget it. I’ve been a fan of his acting ever since 😎
Underrated movie
His role as Mouse in Devil In a Blue Dress is one of my favorites of his!
So good!
My first exposure to Don Cheadle was the Captain Planet funny or die shorts. Later I saw Hotel Rwanda and was completely blown away, should have won an oscar.
How about Rebound, Rosewood, Hamburger Hill?
Cheadle is on my top
10 list of favorite actors of all time ( I’m almost 50 ). Thanks Don, I believe you every time.
9:30 Yay to Mr Cheadle for the Scritti Politti shout-out. One of my favourite bands. And I love Miles' collab, 'Oh Patti'.
This was the best Don Cheadle interview I have ever seen, and it's Boogie Nights for me too! So funny guys.
"I really had you pinned more as a 🎶 dih-dew-doooo 🎶:
Don Cheadle is so insanely underrated. One of my favorites and his performance as Buck on Boogie Nights is one of the greats. So subtle but so so good. The credit scene in the bank is just incredible.
Don Cheadle is hilarious. So quick and funny.
Don Cheadle seems like such a cool dude.
Always a pleasure to watch a Don interview 👏
Cheadle is funny. The chemistry sizzled!
"Brooklyn's Finest" was pretty amazing to me. Profoundly good in a way.
Love Don. Laid back, witty, so talented. I grew up in the San Fernando Valley, and got donuts and coffee from the Boogie Nights donut shop many times years ago.
My first Don Cheadle movie was Bullworth in 1998. You see him in that and you just know that he’s going places.
Cheadle is legend. Love these interviews!
2:55 as someone who shares his exact name and has self esteem issues, im going to edit this clip so that I can start a parasocial relationship with an audio clip. ONE OF THE GREATS I TELL YOU!
best miller time jokes by anyone during your ad. kudos conan obrien.
Don is 56 years old.... DAMN!
I see what you did there 😂
59
😂😂😂😂😂
Black don't crack
I'm sorry 🙁
Don Cheadle has jumped exponentially up my list of actors I want to have a beer with based on this episode.
“Miles Ahead” was amazing. Putting Pharoahe Monch on the soundtrack made me wildly happy.
I always forget how funny he is😅 Love it!❤
I can relate to the music thing. When I was a kid they used to call me the hummer. I was in more than 1 church choir growing up until my 30s. Don Cheadle- always a favorite 😊
Don Cheadle as the roach in the "Roach-Ex" SNL sketch is so, so, so good. Sure it's funny, but good lord almighty his acting is just phenomenal.
He’s great as mouse in devil in a blue dress. Great actor.
Don Cheadle is so cool, he didn't even need to pee his pants to play Miles Davis...
GOO!
@@DurkMcGerkooooohhhh that’s the grossest thing I‘ve heard in my life
LETS GO!
Fantastic interview love these guys
Crash was my go to "cuddling in my dorm room with a new girl" movie. I haven't seen it in like 20 years but maybe I'll give it a rewatch.. "who taught all those cultures to park on the lawn?" something still rings in my head 😂

7:52 damn you are so smart you crazy bunch
Don Cheadle one of the coolest MF’s out there.. 🤘😎
'Crash' IMHO was so good! PTA is one of todays best directors!
Extremely talented and underrated actor of all time. His role as “Mouse” in Devil in a Blue Dress is hands down one the best roles he’s portrayed. He stole the spotlight from Denzel and that’s not an easy feat.🔥🔥🔥🔥
Underappreciated in DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS
traffic is an all-time masterpiece for me and Don's a great part of that for me. Benicio being in it doesn't hurt either
Love Don, I remember him first from the family guy. Great actor and person by the look of things.
One of my favorite actors. If you haven't watched The Guard, you really should.
While I certainly binged House of Lies back in the day, for me Cheadle came to be one of my favorite actors through his roles in Reign over me and Traitor. Probably not his most famous flicks. All being said, his IMDB is out of this world, the number of memorable movies he has been is mindboggling.
I remember him as Rocket in Colors.
DON is hilarious😂
Miles Ahead is my favorite role from him. Criminally underrated.
What film?
@DansChan995 Miles Ahead 2015.
It's a Biopic for Miles Davis that Don Cheadle directed and starred in. You should check it out
Anybody else remember first liking him in Picket Fences back in the 90s?
He really has had some memorable roles. One of my lesser known favorites would be Earl Manigault (sp?) aka The Goat
Love Don as Basher in Oceans 12 and 13.
Oceans 13 - "Thats heavy bike"
I loved Don in “Talk To Me”
Best Captain Planet ever. But really, amazing actor.
How can you be this funny without even trying
When I see you I know I’m going to like it. My favorite so far was The Guard. Unique story well written well acted.
Never even heard of this movie. Just looked it up and watched the trailer and found it pretty funny. I'll look for it.
@@thinkplanetearth2946one of my favourites - it's dryly funny, and besdies it's beautifully shot, I'm happy I went to see it in a theatre back in the day.
One of the greatest actors.
the vibes in this room are immaculate ✨
His powerful portrayal of Captain Planet always sticks out in my mind!
“House of Lies” & “Black Monday” were incredibly good series. Unrelated, I do nothing all the time. Feels nice to learn that might be something.
I was just thinking that! Black Monday doesn't get the credit. Cheadle in Crash is also fantastic...
Hotel Rwanda was the first movie that made me cry
Great episode 😂👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
He looks 10 years younger since that last kevin hart interview, damn
Don Cheadle is such a cool dude..!!
When I saw Out of Sight as a youth I decided Don was the coolest person I’d ever seen and I’m still right almost three decades later.
The Guard, an Irish film - look it up, Brendan Gleeson and Don Cheadle riffing off each other, ❤
Yes!! Such a hilarious film!
I hope they discuss "Hotel Rwanda". That movie *killed* back in the day.
The power of Conan compels you!
Thank you Conan for being a good dude. The funniest late night host of all-time !
"You're not being fair. This isn't fair." I quote that all the time from Boogie Nights
If I saw Don Cheadle, it would be "The Guard" with Brendan Gleeson. If you haven't seen it. Do. BRILLIANT
He was perfect as buck in boogie nights. My all time favorite movie
first saw him in Rebound. still a fav to go back and watch.
mouse for me is his best role... if you grew up in the hood... you know a mouse... that character didn't come out of nowhere...
I remember Denzel promoting the film at the time said he really wanted to do the Mouse role, but you know, he's a big star so 'had to be' the lead. But he was really complimenting Don, who crushed that role
Don was fantastic in the movie "Colors" from the 80s!
Man, Don Cheadle is Cool.
i love Don Cheadle.... everything he does is great.... but my fav is Black Monday... hysterical :)
DAMMIT!! they missed such a good joke there around the 7:50 minute:
then the real murderers come along and i'm like "man! that's the real thing!" and i asked them about it, "hey did your parents had to push you to murder and buy supply and stuff?" and they told me "NO' they had to pull me away from it i lived it so much" and then i knew i didn't have what it takes, i was lacking the true passion these guys have to become the greatest.
he was such a weirdo in boogie nights 😂 🕺🏿💃🏼
If I ever met Don Cheadle I would say "I loved you in /r/gamingcirclejerk"
This clip really makes me want PTA on Conan’s podcast.
Ocean’s 11 ❤
40 years?! DAMN! (in a Kevin Hart voice)
don cheadle being the chinese black man in rush hour was great!
So THAT's where the good riffs come from :P
“I think you blew it” 🤣💀
For me it's *_Hotel Rwanda._*
Love Sona’s big naturals 😮
His character in rush hour needs its own movie or tv series: Crenshaw Hustle
Devil in a blue dress was when I said, who is that?
Don Cheadle is cool and all (one of the best Actors of all time), but I actually came for the Miller Lite commercial. Especially Sona's part in it: "Okay... yeah."
Captain Planet is where it's at :)
Nice 🖤🖤
Don's work in "Miles Ahead" was brilliant, but I hope none of the writers ever watched McCartney's "Give My Regards to Broadstreet", as the stories are almost identical. It would be disappointing to think they lifted such a goofy premise.
