Hurry Up!! - Wario Land 4 (Restored)

Wario Land 4's "Hurry Up!!" track, with fully restored samples and modern mixing. This is a fan-made restoration project of the track using the game's MIDI data. Most of the instrument samples ripped from the game and restored.
While most of the sounds were manually restored, the drum samples was ripped from its original source: the Roland Sound Canvas and the Roland TR-808, with the clock ticks belonging to Sound Ideas' Series 1000 Sound Effects Library.

Although it should take only like 4 hours to complete wario land 4 it took me 20 because of this paranoia
This fear grew the more I played the game and when I got the that one level with the goal thing at the end really scared the hell out of me because you don’t get the choice to start the timer the first time around so it just scares the hell out of me and even with the get the goal thing I kept screwing up with my rolls and when I got to the end I had like about 1000 gold left witch scared the hell out of me
One of the most clever mechanics I've seen in a game. The Hurry Up segments are just terrifying as hell without being annoying or frustrating.

I agree. Everyone is having a fun time exploring for treasure. The moment where you press the switch and hear "HURRY UP!!" Is when the panic sets in. This is true when trying to find the last pieces and the key ghosts while making a mad dash back to the start.

Actually it’s not. This is a cover.
I wouldn't consider this a cover, this uses the original MIDI and samples from the game so there is not a single change to the actual song itself or how it plays

Wario Land shake its biggest mistake was removing the R dash. Get rid of the boost pads and just let me boost wherever I want for goodness sake you'll have to change the levels a bit but so be it I miss going fast. Any animation is gorgeous surely this is a mod somebody could easily make right?

I hated this part as a kid, but as an adult I can see that its uniqueness really sets it apart from other 2d platformers of the time and is actually brilliant.

Something about hitting that switch, and the crazy music just makes you wanna escape as fast as possible. The escape scenes were always my favorite part of the game.
Absolutely! The escape sections are the most memorable parts of Wario Land 4 for anyone who grew up with the game like me.
@@mauroperez2848 yeah, it was my first GBA game, so I have alot of fondness for it too. Shame, the game was kinda ignored in favor of "Super Mario Advance."
(Which I wasn't interested in much, as it was mostly a SMB2 remake, and I already had that game.)
One thing i love about this track is that thematically, at least to me it makes total sense. If the volume and complexity of it equals stress in this case, then it makes sense as to why its so loud at the start. It goes from the immediate "oh f*ck i just set a bomb off" to "but thank god i have 3 minutes to get out" where it gets quiet before ramping back up in volume to represent the stress of worrying about getting out in time with less than a minute on the clock. Its my 2nd favorite song in the game lol

This was my first video game ever as a child.
I had a gameboy SP when I was 4-6 years old, I don’t remember exactly how old I was. I had it for probably a year at most, and I definitely didn’t beat the game. I did, however, gain ptsd from this sound track, and probably had nightmares from the clock.
I’m happy to say I finally got to try again after a decade on my SNES classic; modded to allow it to run GBA games.
This is a certified hood classic.

Of course he did! Ever played Wario Land 2 or 3? He’s COMPLETELY INVINCIBLE in those games! You can cut him in half, flatten him, light him on fire, impale him, drown him, he just straight-up doesn’t care!
That gameplay was pretty clean though, the player clearly knew what he was doing.

Also one thing I noticed with the clock noise, was that the music fades in as the chimes from the clock slowly fade out as you're running away from it. It's a nice little attention to detail that adds layers to what's happening.

That begin triggers easily a start of warning to get the hell out the place, feeling the whole room slowly to faster seems to spin upside down and rumble broken pieces of the whole room into a mad spiral of hurry!

When ever I hear this I just imagine a bell themed wario land 4 level where after hitting the frog switch all the bells turn around revealing demented grinning faces just watching you as you frantically run back to the exit.

This game was great, It was made for the first and oldest Nintendo's game delevolpers, so you should always expect good quality from them. Too bad they splited out
In a word: AWESOME. One of the strangest and best videogame music themes ever, listened in a way I had never imagined. I just wish my GBA had been able to play it like this.

I haven't played this game but i absolutely hate and love the way that activating the frog switch makes everything freeze as a bomb slowly emerges and starts shaking as the creepiest jingle gets played
